  • I live on Tangier and I've realized that more and more people don't seem to understand how important working on the water is for the men on Tangier.

My daddy is one of the watermen on Tangier and I don't think he could ever imagine doing something else for a living.

  • I have to wonder if the problem isn't more complex than *just* water pollution. For example, what effect does the tremendously efficient menhaden fishing industry have on the crab population? Is it depriving crabs of sufficient food?

What steps need to be taken to improve water quality? Limit Bayside development & restrict lawn fertilizers & chemicals? Limit agriculture or impose runoff controls? How about city sewage outflow/overflow, especially during flooding?

  • i live on Tangier Island i love it here especially the museum if you ever come here go to the museum and on the big tv push the '1' button

  • Really cool place

  • Well said Sox's the epa needs to pick them feet up and start doing something

  • I visit Tangier many times a year. It is a wonderful place with wonderful friendly people. Please call and help save their island.

  • How sad for the watermen on Tangier, as well as the other Islands.

They only want to do their work... work the water, like their dads and grandads !!

Someone has to step in, and quick, before these Islands are gone.
