@Jonny30284 you're making horrible generalisations, one student threw a fire extinguisher. i am dead against what that individual did.
i was protesting against every cut which includes the cuts in the police force as was many others there, proves we care about our police force.

You seriously need to work on how you treat those students who are taking direct action. Most of those speeches were fucking shit- get with the times! At 6:46 once again the MP's are attacking a student who is not even attacking the MP. What does the student do. He talks to him. How does the MP reply by fucking hitting him with a riot shield. If anyone at parliament is reading this and watching this video get this into your head now. We are not the violent ones. YOU ARE!
@therainman6666 erm no they also work and have part time jobs , jus bcoz u dont see it doesnt mean it dont exist , respect the right of education for all or the supremacy of some , thats the only line of division!
@deexcorex im 28 prob not much older than you, EVERY student ive met are on drugs piss heads or working at a subway or burger king if you want to learn fucking pay for it like i had to there was no funding for me so put up or shut up protests like this just give all students a bad name and show ppl you just want to stand out with ya hands out

Is the Cost of education to high in part because salaries were not set in a free market. Government guaranteed them and now they cost too much? If Government continues to pay them, you will not be guarantee economic opportunity or freedom for your hard work. Your hard work and sacrifices of time and effort will only be rewarded with higher taxes and more control.
@waterattack Let me ask you this, if you would be 'caged' on a public street even though YOU didn't do anything or anyone any harm, don't you think it would make you angry and upset? I'm not saying it's an excuse to start using violence, but don't you think that kettling has the complete opposite effect of making people more calm?
You don't understand. The police left the van there to make us look bad. Of course we don't blame the police. They did what they were told. We blame the people that told the police to leave an old van in the middle of a violent protest.
@rosydonut Actually i left the van there and you shouldn't blame me because at the time things weren't violent. You don't expect a policeman to drive in the middle of a violent protest now do you? obviously i reliase it was a mistake but the snotty nosed, spot faced brats shouldn't have defaced it and cost thousands of pounds worth of damage.
The goverment doesnt want to put the money in cameron and others came to put to kill the poor still from the innocent people and plenty of money the goverment is spending loads of money in the cops instead of giving the money 2 the students give the money 2 the students
i think kettling is a great idea. the police should be allowed to keep them penned in like the filthy lefties students you are. having them penned in makes it easier for the police to hit them and beat some sense into them. they should all get jobs and join the real world. if you dont want to get hit by the police then you shouldnt be there.

@stevennolan727 "Beat some sense in"? Oh yeah, that sure is an 'excellent' suggestion for the way forward.
Just because students stand up for themselves doesn't mean they don't join the 'real world' - I myself have 4 jobs besides my studies, so I can cover all my living expenses and pay my study fees. Please don't generalize or jump to conclusions so easily - yes there were some violent idiots during the protests, but also many passionate, hard-working students keen to join 'the real world'.
@Levinaism Fair play to you on that 1 m8. What annoys me is those students who spend all there money on booze and then wonder why they don't get anywhere in there exams. Ultimately the police have a job to do and under most circumstances thy do it very well with the limited resources they have. Personally I would like to see them starting to use more robust tactics against the trouble makers (CS gas/water canon) and maybe they would think twice about ruining peacful protests.
They should have let em out gradually, but probably wouldnt have been a great idea to let em all out at once, most of the students didnt want any trouble but some people did, its hard to tell i guess?
@SuperUKman Completely agree. The vast majority weren't attacking any public property, so no need to keep them there - although I understand the concerns of the police that the (in the end little) violence will continue. So yeah, simple solution: let them out gradually rather than getting all the protesters angry that they're being held from going home when not having done anything wrong.
the fuckin problem the dicks think they can walk over every 1 did u see that cunt at the end of the video shoving his shield at defenceless protesters they was being polite and asking if they could get out and the stupid imbreded scum that we call the law was causing more aggro on the situation thats the fuckin problem u dick
1. Its the Polices fault the van got trashed, not the individual students?? Really? C'mon!
2. The Police have a mandate to control a crowd, which they are doing by keeping everybody together, rather than letting hundreds of people splinter off into lots of separate groups. Whats the problem?!
u no when england is in the shitter, wen protesters are smarter then the law themselves what stupid pricks you guys out numbered those dicks at least 10:1 charge them down nxt time il join ya
rich pricks like dave gilmors son get daddy to dip into his millions you muppet problem solved and that little knob head had the nerve to swing from a monument to soldiers that are dieing today many haveing to buy their own kit , your education or keeping a soldier alive no contest realy is there
Wonderful speech, the orator obviously majored in English. They keep telling us, ‘They are our future’, if so God help us. The phrases my service drill instructor of more than sixty years past imparted upon me might suit large numbers of the gathering – You useless piece of shit – you f******g waste of space – the best bit of you ran down the inside of your mother’s leg. Of course, he wouldn’t be allowed to say that now, might upset sensibilities.
These fucks should be the ones who pay for the carnage they've caused. Why should the average tax payer foot the bill? After a bit of 'kettling' they should be cooled down... with a fucking water cannon. Pot noodle munching, scrounging, CUNTS.
EDUCATION means HOPE for every generation to become a better person and possibly get a better job..it doesn`t matter if half of them will drop out or end up graduatin in something apparently useless, it still must be priced reasonably 6k or 9k are insane fees that cant be paid....I mean even if you would work when ur not studying how the hell are u gonna pay for it when the minimum wage is 6 pounds an hour.....? .. start cuttin from politicians wages and taxing riches if u need to raise money
So the students didnt get thru until 6-7 pm? It would appear that kettling is very effective....anyway, stop protesting agains the current administration and understand that ultra liberalism is the sole reason that fee have been hiked, to pay for everyone elses ills and woes, the world is in debt but that said the world seems to be now living in GB......Labour ALWAYS leads the country into the abyss and digging us out causes unrest, stop whining roll your sleeves up and get diggin'.
David Cameron is a wainker, mother fucker, sun of bitch. Why don't he stop eastren european who are distroying UK's economy. FUCK CAMERONA FUCK EASTREN EUROPEAN.
My God!!! kept you there till 7 o'clock did they? This crime against humanity will never be forgotten. Bet you were even late for your tea. Oh, the tragedy. On the other hand - what a pretty policewoman at 6:22.
The answer to tyranny is not institutionalized education... I would like to know what schools can teach them that they cant learn on their own in less time.
The answer is nothing!!! These people are fighting for the right to be brainwashed! Scary that these are the "educated youth". No wonder the world is so fucked up. These people dont want to know how to take care of themselves... they want to be taught to be completely depended on gov and corps. SLAVES!
i was there and i think that kettling us in there just pissed everyone off more just basically added fuel to the fire. if you forcefully keep a bunch of angry teenagers in one place in the freezing cold you cant expect them to sit there quietly we're obviously gonna retaliate if you back us into a corner.... anyone would whoever they are. and sometimes those violent acts are what makes us heard its sad but true.
I dont see what right the police have to detain people against there will in an open place with temperatures low. Surely this isn't just a violation of human rights but a health and safety issue. If people want to leave a protest surely its better for the police and public safety to let protesters leave. I don't understand how these tactics can do anything other than rile people into acting in a way there supposedly trying to avoid.
the itn video of police abondoning the van in a peaceful crowd is evidence that would stand up in a court of law, especially after police said they left it out of fear
Kettling is not an ideal tactic but it is effective and doesn't cause injury to protestors, just massive inconvienience. When you have a large group of protestors, many of whom are intent on smashing up London you can't let them all roam wherever they choose because shops, banks, offices would get vandalised. If you've got an idea to stop the carnage on 'peaceful' protests I'm sure the police would be all ears.
@DetVicMackey50 All intent on smashing up London? What the fuck are you talking about? For the most part it is peaceful protesting. You have some odd, deluded view that all students are anarchists that just want to break things. Confining people in a small space isn't going to make anyone calm down.
@DetVicMackey50 Solution to what? They aren't all intent on smashing up London. They don't all want to destroy everything. They're just fucking protesters. Kettling doesn't help anyone. You best fucking shutup. You don't have anything constructive to add. You just like to get in and stir shit up. You're a bad person.
When protests have elements inside of them (like the student march did) that are intent on smashing up public property and causing destruction then these people have to be contained. They cannot be allowed to roam free. They cannot be singled out and seperated as they're not bright pink or flashing etc. So because some people choose to ruin what would have been a peaceful march EVERYONE gets kettled. Its a shame but as ever a few ruin it for the many. It is that simple!!
@DetVicMackey50 Surely all protesting groups have people who are that angry about whatever they're protesting against. I doubt there are that many that could cause any amount of considerable damage that couldn't be easily rounded up. Kettling isn't going to subdue peoples frustrations.
Arghh, can't fucking stand the police, with their cocky attitudes and smug faces, 'looking down on the protesters, thinking they're better than us. FUCK EM.
english police is good here but goverments now gaverments is very bad every were im from malta and maltese goverment he shell every thing here malta dokjjart sea malta he shell the maltese bank maltese goverment is not good for maltese pls help all contrys out of eu eu is dictature
Thinking about starting a single issue campaign group - against kettling - getting it banned. Its already illegal, punishing many for the actions of few, group punishment.. is illegal under the geneva convention, look it up, look up the Nuremberg trials.
Does anyone think a campaign group (yes, peaceful) would work?
@BlinJe I'd LOVE this, and would completely support it. Please also look up the following the blog, great stuff on this subject: brutalpoliceblog [dot] com
@semperfidelis677 all it takes for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing. leave your smug comments at the door friend, and perhaps close your mouth to the heaps of shit fed to you by the BBC, and in your case probably the daily mail.
Having to stand in line in the cold until a grown up tells you you can leave is probably an experience which should have come much earlier in life for people who behave like this.
In answer to the question posed at the end-yes, it was necessary. Look what happened when a softer approach was tried at the Millbank towers. The people trashing the van looked like school kids rather than University students. While people at school today obviously have the biggest stake in this, anyone watching must be in doubt as to their true motives. Also, the huge cheers going up undermine the idea that only a minority were intent on violence.
Well technically it is students who spend billions as 60-65% of all politicans have been to university.
I wouldn't say it is unjust, the reasons were lies to the public but behind the scenes the reasons make sense.
The world is in turmoil our resources are dwindling by 2040. So richer more powerful nations and groups i.e USA,EU and UK must take resources for their people to survive.
Survival of the fittest a perfect example of natural selection.
The police swear an oath that they will protect "all people and property" so why did they wait over 2hrs before they protected the van? There is really only one conclusion you can draw, this was a set up.
I've been to many heavy metal, death metal and nu-metal concerts. Slipknot included and not ONCE have i seen violence other than a couple of drunk yobs fighting with stewards.
I have never seen a police officer injured or even called for except once during more than 20 concerts.
So i don't know where you got that "fact" from. Unlike students we actually have a sense of law and decency. Not just yobs and left wing wannabe's.
What is funny a lot of socialists, iraqi free corps(wtf were they doing there btw?) and the like were saying "FUCK THE POLICE" but when they were injured during a skirmish they cried for help. That shithead who used a wooden rod on that copper's arm needs it done to him.
Bunch of wannabe's.
The tactic they used was lawful and just. You destroyed property, caused disruption and disorder. Even if you didn't do it personally, you are an accomplice for not stopping it.
@TigerMilitia, this was not the sole doing of left wing groups. There were also students from all levels of education, parents, many people who were simply concerned and notably, anarchist groups. The violence came from a wide range of different groups with a wide range of political viewpoints.
Instant documentary. Well done, and to the students: America's watching you and is hopefully seeing how it's done. Proud of you all -- except for the idiots who fell for the police van trap. Tsk tsk. Every movement needs a leader. You'll fall victim to this tactic every time without real top-down organization.
They left that police van there and retreated back a few hundred yards from it for a reason. They wanted the media to only show the pictures that they could record from outside the protests, which were specifically those showing people destroying public property.
Thousands of people are standing outside protesting, over hours and hours. Yet this government refuses to do anything about the monetary system prepetuated from debt. Your democracy does not work.
You may not like it but the police were completely within their rights. Although it was an organised event, you were creating a disturbance to the peace, therefore the police had right to detain you until they were happy for you to leave.

At 6:46 once again the MP's are attacking a student who is not even attacking the MP. What does the student do. He talks to him. How does the MP reply by fucking hitting him with a riot shield. If anyone at parliament is reading this and watching this video get this into your head now. We are not the violent ones. YOU ARE!

Levinaism 1 year ago
@waterattack
You don't understand. The police left the van there to make us look bad. Of course we don't blame the police. They did what they were told. We blame the people that told the police to leave an old van in the middle of a violent protest.
rosydonut 1 year ago
@rosydonut Actually i left the van there and you shouldn't blame me because at the time things weren't violent. You don't expect a policeman to drive in the middle of a violent protest now do you? obviously i reliase it was a mistake but the snotty nosed, spot faced brats shouldn't have defaced it and cost thousands of pounds worth of damage.

i think kettling is a great idea. the police should be allowed to keep them penned in like the filthy lefties students you are. having them penned in makes it easier for the police to hit them and beat some sense into them. they should all get jobs and join the real world. if you dont want to get hit by the police then you shouldnt be there.

Levinaism 1 year ago
@Levinaism Fair play to you on that 1 m8. What annoys me is those students who spend all there money on booze and then wonder why they don't get anywhere in there exams. Ultimately the police have a job to do and under most circumstances thy do it very well with the limited resources they have. Personally I would like to see them starting to use more robust tactics against the trouble makers (CS gas/water canon) and maybe they would think twice about ruining peacful protests.
beninnotts 1 year ago
They should have let em out gradually, but probably wouldnt have been a great idea to let em all out at once, most of the students didnt want any trouble but some people did, its hard to tell i guess?
SuperUKman 1 year ago
@SuperUKman Completely agree. The vast majority weren't attacking any public property, so no need to keep them there - although I understand the concerns of the police that the (in the end little) violence will continue. So yeah, simple solution: let them out gradually rather than getting all the protesters angry that they're being held from going home when not having done anything wrong.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! :)

Was there a need for police to be there at all?

MajorYum 1 year ago
@MajorYum
DetVicMackey50 1 year ago
@DetVicMackey50 All intent on smashing up London? What the fuck are you talking about? For the most part it is peaceful protesting. You have some odd, deluded view that all students are anarchists that just want to break things. Confining people in a small space isn't going to make anyone calm down.
MajorYum 1 year ago
@MajorYum
So again do you have a better solution?? No? You best shut up then!
DetVicMackey50 1 year ago
@DetVicMackey50 Solution to what? They aren't all intent on smashing up London. They don't all want to destroy everything. They're just fucking protesters. Kettling doesn't help anyone. You best fucking shutup. You don't have anything constructive to add. You just like to get in and stir shit up. You're a bad person.
MajorYum 1 year ago
@MajorYum
DetVicMackey50 1 year ago
@DetVicMackey50 Surely all protesting groups have people who are that angry about whatever they're protesting against. I doubt there are that many that could cause any amount of considerable damage that couldn't be easily rounded up. Kettling isn't going to subdue peoples frustrations.

Polf1008 1 year ago
In answer to the question posed at the end-yes, it was necessary. Look what happened when a softer approach was tried at the Millbank towers. The people trashing the van looked like school kids rather than University students. While people at school today obviously have the biggest stake in this, anyone watching must be in doubt as to their true motives. Also, the huge cheers going up undermine the idea that only a minority were intent on violence.
craigtube85 1 year ago
@Bananantics
Ah right i understand now mate.
Survival of the fittest a perfect example of natural selection.

what..the..fuck
I've been to many heavy metal, death metal and nu-metal concerts. Slipknot included and not ONCE have i seen violence other than a couple of drunk yobs fighting with stewards.
I have never seen a police officer injured or even called for except once during more than 20 concerts.
So i don't know where you got that "fact" from. Unlike students we actually have a sense of law and decency. Not just yobs and left wing wannabe's.
TigerMilitia 1 year ago
What is funny a lot of socialists, iraqi free corps(wtf were they doing there btw?) and the like were saying "FUCK THE POLICE" but when they were injured during a skirmish they cried for help. That shithead who used a wooden rod on that copper's arm needs it done to him.
Bunch of wannabe's.
The tactic they used was lawful and just. You destroyed property, caused disruption and disorder. Even if you didn't do it personally, you are an accomplice for not stopping it.
Left wing scum make me laugh.
TigerMilitia 1 year ago
@TigerMilitia, this was not the sole doing of left wing groups. There were also students from all levels of education, parents, many people who were simply concerned and notably, anarchist groups. The violence came from a wide range of different groups with a wide range of political viewpoints.
