  • well undeniably the brits are fighting more frontline actions in afghanistan than the aussies are, but the aussies are helping out too. just that the regular units of the aussie forces are rebuilding afghanistan whilst the RAR are raiding the taliban and the aussie SAS are scouting out the taliban.

  • I can't believe the bullshit coming from some dicks from 3 rar I was in the Aussie army and the cold hard truth is your not trained that well and you's think your battle hardened lol Uruzgan nothing happens there lol Out on tour I'd rather have a Para next to me instead of a pretend one.

  • where is 3RAR posted at ?????

  • @WRH90059 wrong SASR, they go through starvation, extreme PT, sleep deprivation, six days without food\sleep and that is just the 2 week selection process. Then they have the special forces training. Hardest training and selection is the SASR

  • my dad was the machine gunner for 3RAR , scouted to join sas

  • I was in 3RAR for 4 years and we did some training with brit para units and the US tropical lightning all i can say is the brits were soft as the gurkhas made them look silly and even they were soft!

  • Dont even compare 3RAR to british paratroopers they are TOTALLY different.

The british are trained harder than any normal soldier in the australian army and its a fucking fact. 3RAR may not be trained as hard as a british paratrooper but they STILL have MORE balls than 90% of the other battalions, i speak to my friends in my battalion all the time (2) about parachuting and most of them simply just say "Fuck that." so seriously.. give them the credit they deserve for having the balls to jump.

  • @brozza2 Would it be possible for a French Foreign Legionnaire after 5 years to join the Australian Defence Force?. Its just that some 2eme REP bloke said its possible as long as the Legionnaire is from a commonwealth country.

  • @Browno86InnitBlud lol your a merc

  • @Browno86InnitBlud Not sure about the commonwealth country. But maybe you could do a co-training within your own country. They generally run things with other countrys. If not then if you have an australian citizenship.

  • @brozza2 mate, the ASASR is trained harder than ANY other special force in the world, including the british SAS

  • @cainefromcairns nah there about even with brit sas and us seals

  • @cainefromcairns Wrong the hardest trained Special ops is the russian Spetsnaz,Each of their branches go under mistreatment, abuse, starvation and thier physical training is known to kill men, only the toughest of the toughest make it through.

  • Can anyone tell me what they are yelling out?

Is that pack away or something that they been trained to yell?..

  • @simmo19801 They are yelling "Pull away" meaning dude u better steer that way and ill steer this way otherwise we will both be in the hurt locker!

  • @fullerflavour121 Dumb question I know but was curious what all the yelling was, thanks.

  • you're not paratroopers, you're gay. get over it 3RAR, go to a real battalion

  • @twoblackhats Piss off Craphat

  • @twoblackhats and who the fuk are u? come say it to one of us.

  • @twoblackhats Being airborne means never having to miss an oppertunity to remind people (Craphats.. yes you blackhats) that your better then them. Get some jumps up lid haha

  • how do you become an australian paratrooper? can anyone tell me?

  • Join the Army, get through Recruit training and Infantry School, put down 3RAR as your battalion of choice, if the posting gods smile upon you you might get chosen, then pass jump training.

  • @ebglider91 Hey mate, the paratroopers are considered to be higher then just the regular army right?

  • @parkeyboy123456 the truth hurts; thats why you respond the way you do!! I doubt very much; that many of you would pass the British Para P Coy; when you pass such a tough course; and then go on to earn your wings; the sense of achievement is immense; but then again you would not know that; would you!!!

  • You again? The bloke who thinks the British Paras are top shit despite the fact the rest of the British military think they're gobby wankers who can't back up their bullshit?

  • @ebglider91 exactly like there special forces, like to talk em selves up as much as possible but fact is our SP are shittin all over the brit'

  • @fatalbert203 In 2009, the Parachute Regiment Rugby League flew out to Australia, the first time the Regiment has been overseas as a touring team in either code for nearly 20 years. They stayed in Sydney and played 3RAR and were convincingly beaten 56-12

  • Happy new year everyone. 3RAR can continue sucking for 2010. Maybe some more will join the Paras this year and see how real soldiers work.

  • shut up pretender ...which unit are you in...fag

  • id love to be a paratrooper but they don't see as much action as regular soldiers which is a disadvantage

  • What action have Aussie regulars conducted recently; lol!! Fuck all!!!

  • more than you ya pom fag lol

  • Aussies I shit them!!!!

  • Wrong.. we get just as many trips as any other battalion. Not always the trips we wont but deployment never the less.

  • care to elaborate on that? (out of interest, I'm not trying to provoke or anything :/ )

  • but they get twice as much the bragging power that's the advantage

  • yeah thats true lol

  • @Australian123Gamer its maybe true but paratroopers do get the most dangerous missions

  • go and have a whinge fuckin poms...waaaaaaaaaaawaaaaaaawaaaaaaaaawaaaaaaa

(10 points for telling the queen that)

  • Google this headline: Australian soldiers 'ashamed' at lack of action in Iraq and Afghanistan

  • The matter of our government not allowing us to be on the frontline has NOTHING... I SAY AGAIN NOTHING to do with us wearing a dull cherry beret and calling ourselfs paratroopers. We are paratroopers because we are trained and trained well to jump..

  • Thats my point, you are not trained Paratroopers, you have not earned your wings!!! The British Paratrooper is far more superior to the craphat 3 RAR, the British paratrooper is trained to jump and more importantly, how to fight, and they are where the metal meets the meat, unlike 3 RAR craphats

  • There's nothing special about the Parachute regiment compared to any British line regiment. Except for 3 PARA Mortar platoon. They're very special...

  • You still have not commented on my points; that 3 RAR do not earn their wings; and the fact that they are not as battle hardened as the British Paratooper; actually 3 RAR dont compare to any British regiment.

  • Your points are bullshit. That's the only comment they need.

  • @fatalbert203 A silly comment. You cannot compare The RAR and British paratroopers. They are trained and used differantly.

  • Comment removed

  • My points are fact; your response confirms that. Here endeth the lesson!!!

  • Keep believing that then

  • @fatalbert203 yep just like most shitcunts u say that yous are the best and will beat us and we dont earn it shhh lady

  • like I said previously, 3 RAR are craphats, most Airborne units need to complete some form of P Coy to earn their wings, its an achievement to recieve para wings having passed such a tough test, but you will never know that!!! anyway I am bored talking to you now, so goodbye!!!!

  • That's got to be the poorest attempt at a piss-take I've ever read my friend

  • It's not a piss take, it's been qouted in the Aussie newspapers and other media agencies.

Example ''Captain Greg Colton, second-in-command of the Sydney-based 3rd Battalion of the Royal Australian Regiment, said non-commissioned and junior officers were beginning to question their purpose''.

  • the Australian infantry had not been tasked with conducting offensive actions since Vietnam,

  • Australian infantry troops are ashamed and furious that they are being kept from combat and regarded as cowards by allied troops in Iraq and Afghanistan

  • Once I leave school, i wanna inlist with these guys

  • Do the Aussies do a pre Para Course similar to the UK?

  • no we dont.

  • Crap hats then!!!!

  • How high do u jump from again?

  • Various hights, but its not about how high you jump; its about the calibre of the soldier once he lands on the ground. If you have not completed a pre Para course as tough as the British one for example, then you cannot comment.

  • What a stupid question, how high do you jump fromlol, what a twat you areLOL. The truth is, the Aussie's just do not compare to the British Paratrooper, I think past history will show you that!!! Here endeth the lesson.

  • Ah yes, the British Paras. Why go around a wall when you can try knock it down with your head?

  • Is that the best you can come back with?? Have a look at the training, the operational deployments, the battle honours of the British Parachute Regiment, 3 RAR just dont compare; and that is fact.

  • Pfft, battle honours? 3RAR has more battle honours and foreign military decorations than you can poke a stick at. Go hug your beret and para smock and tell yourself how 'ally' you look, you should be good at that.

  • Many of your battle honours are from allied regiments for example the Scots Guards that date back centuries ago..

  • @fatalbert203 Hey is that the same parachute regiment that so successfully conducted the offensive operation 'Market Garden' in WW2? You know that royal fuck up that is an embarrassment to the toff nose poms to this day? Lucky the Yanks saved your arses yet again.

  • Someone silence this whiny, annoying pom.

  • HeHe I don't miss the heavy landings or the long stomps afterwards. But I sure had good times. Duties First

  • Prepare to land in..........TREES!

  • WRONG. We are not losing our wings.. Im from 3 RAR myself, and we are staying airbourne

  • sick!

  • when will they be in townsville?

  • The move is ment to be 2011 but looks like it maybe a little earlier

  • too bad 3rar are losing their wings

  • what do you mean? when? im only 16 but i hope to be joining 3rar as soon as im old enough. ive started training already

  • 3RAR is becoming or has become a mechanized unit.

  • is another battallion airbourne? other than 4th? it doesnt make sense to have such a huge country with so many peopleand not have paratroopers other than commandos

  • Nop, There will be no regualr infantry paratroopers. I dont know a whole lot about the subject. All i know is they're losing their wings.

  • 3 RAR is set to become a conventional light infantry unit in 2011. However strong arguments remain to maintain 3 RAR's parachute status. Given Australia's large area to defend some would question why all modern Australian light infantry units (1 RAR, 2 RAR and 3 RAR) aren't all airborne capable. Therefore irrespective of army "restructuring" talk, the airborne capability of 3 RAR will probably be intact for years to come.

    taken from Wikipedia

  • wikipedia is sososo reliable ay..... we arent losing our wings and we are stayin aiborne, OLD FAITHFUL

  • nice thats great to hear

  • Fuck yeah! Thats what i've always wanted to do, I was shatterred when i heard about the "changes".

  • and what would we rather do then fight for liberty? haha

  • 1000, 2000, 3000 memeorys

  • lol and i ant lying a paratrooper landed in r back yard onecs

  • You must be the only person in Australia too have been invaded by the Australian Army

  • rofl

  • I hope you offered him a drink mate
