Yes I know Linda, Gavin got tangled just a few months before her terrible loss. I have our story at the website under survivors, I have 5 children but I try to spread the word about window blind safety any chance I can get during our busy life.

My 3 year old son survived the mini blinds after 4 minutes of dangling and I was in the adjoining room and didn't hear a thing. I am still running over recalled mini blinds that I find at yard sales with my car!!! No corded window treatments are safe. Please help us spread the word and thanks Linda for all you do and prevail.

I had no idea how dangerous they were. I figured if you tied them up out of reach they would be safe. Really, it makes me angry that they would continue to sell these. They recall toys if they're dangerous.

I heard about this, it's horrible, I have no kids, but I know friends that do.

My children are 17 and above, but we are good friends with the Kaisers and I've seen what they've had to go through and want to make sure that anyone and everyone knows about the dangers. If we can get the news media, government leaders and regular folks like us involved, we might get something accomplished.

Linda says at :30 that she placed the crib "away from the mini-blinds." Then HOW could this happen? Her daughter was less than a year old; she was certainly sleeping in a crib. She didn't get out of the crib and crawl across the room, did she?

Thanks - I didn't mean to sound unsympathetic or disrespectful. I am truly sorry for this family, and am genuinely curious about how this happened, so that I and others can prevent it from happening again.

When I re-read my comment, I realized that it might have sounded rude. Again, my apologies if that was the case.

Thanks for asking Linda to clarify exactly what happened. I'm sure many viewers of thisclip would benefit from that information.

If you re-watch, I say that I had my pull cords tied up high and the crib away from the pull cords. My daughter gained acess to the cords this way. Since her death, the death toll is now up to 48. Please pass this long.
