There's a difference between "SOCIAL ANXIETY" and simply not feeling like presenting a speech that you don't care much about.
I'm also a mass media major. I have no problem with speaking, but I also don't always like speaking when is not needed. He's a realist.
Meaning, it's conventional to thank 70 people at these events, but simpler to say 1 thanks and leave.

I think he gave a really good speech, he actually thanked his teammates and his coaches and his opponents, unlike recent winners who just say "yeah you guys were good, you are deserving of this award too" ricky actually told them how amazed he was with their talents

WHAT?! How can you not see how nervous he is when his named is called for the Heisman Trophy? Throughout his whole speech he's stuttering and slurring his words badly. I'm surprised no one was like "WTF?" because he was breathing hard before his seech. It's too bad no one got him some help before he got to the NFL. He had the potential to be in the HOF.

I love Ricky Williams, seems like such a nice guy, gets way too much flack just because he smokes weed. There are guys in the NFL who committed real crimes that don't get any punishment, yet everybody always criticizes this guy just for marijuana. Hope he has a great comeback season in 08.
