  • This is so Voldemort... For some reason, he is the only one I connect this song with... I mean, really, this should be his theme or something. It has "Voldemort" all over it XD

Great song, and epic voice. Sharon is a godess. <3

  • @AmelieSpark have you read the legacy's saga?

seriously, this song is perfect to be "Galbatorix theme" XD

  • @AmelieSpark Voldemort was pretty 'violently' straightforward, he had nothing deceiving about him. Just pure evil darkness......

  • This song reminds me how Within Temptation was suxch a great band before the succes of The SIlent Force changed them into a stupid pop rock band :/

Please, go back to your Mother Earth style..for the sake of Metal

  • This is a special message that Humanity must WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!..

2012 will be even more difficult for us.

  • Thank you Haggard for introducing me to this amazing song

  • @maaneblomme lol, same, but this song is definitely voldemorts song :)

  • I just watched a Transformers movie, and this song reminds me of Megatron. =P

  • @firegirl2202 I connect everything to HP at the moment O.o

  • this reminds me of a book called, The Forbidden Game by: L.J. Smith. julian!! hehe the song decribes him perfecly!! and any one who wants to read this book.. go ahead! one warning: ITS A REALLY GOOD BOOK... and thats saying a lot because im an anime fanatic! its a mistory/adventure kind of book with a bit of blood and romance! ^_^

  • and i'm picky!!!!

  • @bugster1197 I love that book, and it totally does describe Julian :D

  • @ThisbyBooks haha, right!!! XD but, im still wondering if L.J.Smith will make the sequel i hope she does... because that book rocks... there was a rumor that she will make the fourth book (you no, since its a 3-1 book). and i heard that there makeing a movie about The Forbidden Game; i hope they do; but there all just rumors, so it could be true or it could be a total lie... who knows.

  • @bugster1197 Yeah, it would be great if she did, though I'm still waiting for her to release the finale of her "Night World" saga. And a movie would be amazing... I hope that they're true!

  • @ThisbyBooks haha, yah so do i; i still need to read quite a few of her books though; BUT i will read them! I WILL MAKE IT MY GOAL to read all of her books, hehehe i never back down from my promises!

  • I'm the 500th fan who's just liked this video (-song) and I'm fuckin' proud of it!! :)

  • Every time, I want to flick my lighter and hold it up when she sings about a small fire. I loved this song live, oh hell, I love anything WT does. Getting the DVD for Black Symphony was the BEST way to really be introduced to this band!

  • not-so-well-known? not in my book! :o)

I love this song, have done so ever since the first tim I heard it. They better play it tomorrow at the concert in my hometown! I can't wait!!

  • Amazing Lyrics!, this is a message to those who are controlled Tv and manipulations such as how they call 'Illuminati' to brainwash people.

So in fact, where are the goverment toys, Economic struggles are their actions, not ours.

Do not show youre a fool of these deceivers..

  • @Zoza15 i was wondering if anyone agreed with me on that subject:D none of my friends even gave it a second thought

  • I WILL PROUDLY AND PUBLICLY ANNOUNCE THAT I LIKE GRAPES. and you know why ppl don't like it? it's sorta creepy. it's like serious, but then depressing for a split second, and then happy randomly. the other 439 people that liked it are just intimidated by it. sure, good for an epic movie, but not to listen to on a daily basis. im gonna go ahead and not like it. ok nm IT GETS BETTER AT THE END. WAIT NO IT GETS BAD AGAIN im gonna go not like it...now. ok

  • NecroseWOW: Yes, but if You think I'm an "polish-catolic" You're wrong ;)

  • I think 'deceiver' is satan and 'the spark of hope' is God, and I know than no one of You think the same

  • @kasienkamail I do... Guess ur Polish ? :)

  • @kasienkamail indeed...

  • Sharon is so fucking awesome ! ♥

  • ja to chyba juz kiedys slyszalam

  • I can't stop listening to this! :D One of my fav songs by WT

  • They sang this last night at the NYC Terminal 5 concert. It was absolutely AMAZING!!!!!

  • LOL this song reminds me of how we are stuck with Harper as a prime minister in Canada.

  • I'm sure everyone has their own point of view but my opinion is that this song includes anyone who decieves your heart and plays your mind I'm sure its not just gods but other people who manupulate people and make them do or think something they are not

  • @121Resilient I believe that this song is about Stalin

  • @riversoflust What the hell is a stalin?

  • @121Resilient Brush up on your WWII history.

  • @121Resilient Joseph Stalin was the leader of the Soviet union from 1924 to 1953.Stalin was the dictator of Soviet Russia. If a person would disobey to the ideas of Stalin he would get killed by Stalin.Stalin has killed millions of people. He caused harm to the farmers of Russia by banning them from a having a private property.Stalin deported all of his political rivals to Siberia.

  • Comment removed

  • @121Resilient I think that this song is about him because he was a terrible dictator but he deceived his supporters and made them think that he is a great leader his supporters called him'The great and genial leader that is never wrong'.He also was a person that you should fear because if you would be against him he would kill you or deport you to Siberia(Siberia is a very cold country the temperature in Siberia is -50 grade celsius)

  • @riversoflust like I said to each his own but I don't think it's just Stalin but others too not just gods and leaders and people thos its interesting to learn history thanks for the info about SiberiaD

  • Comment removed

  • @121Resilient I agree with you. This song is about all the people that manipulate other people

  • 2:00-2:38 best part!

  • I've always loved this song. It's truly a treasure...

  • screw Ladytron (i still love them though) its all about Within Temptation!

  • 6 people are fools

  • @Skorescuro 7 people now... how sad..

  • @Skorescuro there are 7 now :D

  • @mamadu57 sigh

  • The Truth in Metal, sisters and brothers! That's why WE are listening this kind of music: drives us by heart, by body and by mind

  • @ogrelaca fail this ain't metal mate ;)

  • @rforrester2 can you please offer the world your enlightening definition?

  • @TheWall2000 in a matter of fact, these are meant to be gothic - alternative - alto, and even sooner rock than metal =p

  • @ogrelaca Thas absolutely right :)

The songs are from the bottoms of their hearts *-*

  • @ogrelaca quite right friend

  • HOLY SHIT! I just found this band and I must say..this song made me think of my ex lmao

  • it simply means the church in its entirety is a fraud total opposite to what they lead people to believe. belief kills and cures

  • @MrKingkola

I prefer to take it as a tribute to the idea of the Devil, to Lucifer and all his empty promises masking a selfish intent. To be the only source of light, the Light-Bringer would extinguish all others.

Belief can cause people to kill, but lack of belief, especially in one's self, can kill just the same.

  • xx galacia point taken

  • is not about God,nor Satan ! Is about one fallen that play with the human mind and finally take them souls away !!!

  • @Justme262006 This might sound funny but i sort of think of Loki from the Thor movie and perhaps even more so in the future movies as Loki's dark side starts to manifest more and more.

  • This reminds me of Hitler, about the well executed lies and deceit. Still, a damn good song :)

  • love it *-*

  • rip ryan dunn..

  • im sry, i really dont mean 2 piss off any fans bcuz i am 2, but this makes me think of some old video game. i have no idea y. but i also luv WT, and, again, i dont mean 2 piss off any fellow fans.

  • It could be about mankind and how they dictate nature.

  • This song COULD be about God, Abuse, Dictators, Satan, Pimps, Addicts.......so many things feed on our fears every day, the light (who we are inside) is what sets each of us apart in thoughts and reactions. This song has special meaning with dramatic instrumentals and words to make one stop, rub their heads and think. Always loved WT since I heard their first song.

  • sounds like a religious song. "God" dammit those songs are annoying. i was made to listen to this, and i regret so.

  • @MrKingkola It's not about God. God doesn't "rule with fear". People who believe in God believe willingly.

Now Satan rules with fear. But that's my take on it.

If you want to believe it to be about God than so be it but to me it's obviously not, for it's describing (to me) Satan.

  • @vladimir2tod4ever97 one thing that you could look at is that not all of the stories the god takes place in, especially in the old testament, show him as kind or benevolent, and depicts him as a powerful god whose wrath is to be feared. thus we gain the term "god fearing christian" because you do not wish to incur his wrath. within that respect god can rule with fear, furthermore, also remember the punishment christianity gives for disbelief, in the depths of hell, just for another example.

  • @XxGlacial Ah well...

Doesn't matter. It's just opinions on what's the song about, right? I think it's about Satan and you think it's about God.=)

  • @vladimir2tod4ever97 exactly, to each his own opinion right :D

  • @XxGlacial Yep. Makes no sense to fight over opinions.=)

  • IT'S ABOUT GOD THAT WHY SHE SAID THE WORLD OF THE FREE, WE ARE NOW MENTAL SLAVES OF RELIGION, AND THE SMALL LIGHT ARE THE PEOPLE WHO REALISE THE TRUTH THERE'S HOPE.

  • @MrKingkola Its not about God!

  • @MrKingkola i understand where you are coming from on that angle, do remember however that each person will draw their own conclusions. for me the song is interesting, and matches a concept i've been toying with for awhile, that through a complacent smile, and by setting himself as the ultimate good, that god himself could become corrupt, twisting the world to his beck and call while maintaining absolute authority. just a thing for a story, but i am having a fun time with the concept :P

  • IT'S ABOUT GOD THAT WHY SHE SAID THE WORLD OF THE FREE, WE ARE NOW MENTAL SLAVES OF RELIGION

  • of course its about god isn't that obvious, and about white people and slavery of body and mine, that's why she said the world of the free, meaning we are god and not a fiction story,I AGREE WITH HER 100% YOU GO GIRL, THE TRUTH IS HARD TO BELIEVE ISN'T

  • I didn't know that Lucifer was the name of the devil... I called my kitten Lucifer.

  • @Solweigx3 Yeah it's in the Bible, Lucifer was the name before he was cast out of Heaven, it was what he was called since he used to be God's top Angel. But now he is Satan, The Devil...etc.

  • @the whole discussion beneath: Music is there to suit with your own story and mind. You are all right, because you are all listing to this song, and thinking about it. As for me? I think it is about someone who mistreated someone else. Make up your own mind when listning to music, because you are the one who hears it =)

  • It's about Hitler.... And people like Hitler.

  • It;s about Hitler.

  • When I first heard this song I thought of Lucifer talking about God but that's how I interpret the song (and still do).

  • personally i always felt it was about God, but that's what it means to me. i don't know what i means to any of you people or to WT.

  • @A2ndVoice It's not about God, it's about Satan.

  • @EternalFlameStudios that is your perspective, mine is different and i believe that God fits the song far better than Satan does. we have a different outlook on it and neither of us is correct per se. also WT wrote it about Hitler, the God/Satan observations are wholly personal to us as the listeners.

  • I don't know if this song is about God, the Devil, the Government, or what, but any of the interpretations I've seen on these comments works. Anyone know if WT has stated the meaning?

  • great video writingwolf14. I love this band ALOT!!!!!!

  • This song is about Lucifer.

  • @notapplicable66

    Its a song about men.

  • @Nabo00o Out to lunch.

  • @notapplicable66 I agree with you, definitely Lucifer.

  • @TheDarkCountess1 Of course the song is about Lucifer!

  • Sounds more like an anti-satan or anti-evil king song? very good and it's one of my favorites! <3 WT FOREVER <3

  • Continuying what I said in the comment below, when she says "In my heart there is a place of a small fire burning", in my interpretation means that we have some inside, each of us, we don't need another spiritual force to rule us...

  • I think this is an anti-monotheism song. Against all religions that are based on obeying one single figure. That's what makes more sense, I think...

  • when i got this song and i hadn't read the lyrics to it, i thought 'To a world of decay' was 'to a world called the gay' (LOL)

  • freies netz süd

  • More like Obama

  • @ironnightwish Haha true

  • Voldemort?!?! how about Bush?

  • This reminds me of the Fool and the Piebalds from the Farseer Trilogy...

  • I can't help but think of the Hitler and Nazi Germany. -awaits the hate comments-

  • This is one of their best songs ever recorded, a shame that not that many fans know this, true fans do. All their albums are great, but i do love mother earth.

  • @Moorkov Me too... ah the memorys. I heard that song years ago, when it came out. Already 8 years from now - crazy how time flies.

  • Wow. Goosebumps!

  • @ZanderyouVII yeah...this song does kind of make you think of Genesis and Sephiroth.

  • This song reminds me very much of Muhammad.

  • Personally, this makes me think of Griffith from Berserk.

  • this song reminds me of hitler and ww2

  • I love this song sooo much!! Its epic!!!

  • I HAVE ALL THE FREEON IN THE WORLD!!!

  • @IzzyElonCantu Hahaha beat me to it xD

  • Thank you for posting the lyrics.... Excellent song..:)

  • This is one of my favorite songs from a female fronted band.

  • @gdjs1000 that wasnt very polite... i think that this persons account name is beautiful. why did you name your account gdjs does that make sense???

  • Sounds like a song a sociopath would cream emself to lol

  • @j5972 yea that wld be my ex :D

  • Do not fear him, fight him.

  • Actually, listening to this again reminds me of Lord Loss from The Demonata book series :)

  • This is one of the best songs ever, also alongside 'Everybody's Fool', Evanescence and 'Misery Business', Paramore :) x x

  • Reminds me of Hitler ;$

  • Oh wow. I feel bad after listening to this. Like, I feel like I just wasted 7 minutes of my life sort of bad.

  • this song is so coooooooooooooooooool!:D

  • "Remember who you are, what you fight for, and there will always be a way."

  • @shadowslayer51 isn't the line from the song "remember who you are, what you stand for,and there will always be a way"?

  • @shadowslayer51 Stand for, not fight. :P

  • This is our world, our reality....

Let fear run your life, and you will help those who wants to rule over humanity.

Look for the truth and forgive, and believe in good, and you will find it everywhere and in everyone.

    ....

Nothing is too hard to be solved. All the problems of the middle east could have disappeared if only.... people could forgive. We are all growing, and we will all learn to know the universal law of life:

    Love each other.

    True love is unselfish.

  • 2 people feed on fear and pain.

  • Eh. Isn't my favourite song, but wonderful vocals. 5/5

  • This reminds me of Nightwish, and amazing vocals. truly amazing

  • you guys consider this song as good music and outstanding voice, will it is that true.

but the most truth of this song is the lyrics.

    it's a lesson.

those words with those meaning could save you books and centuries of writing and speaking.

this much beyond even the poems.

  • sharon is the best female singer on this planet....WT are one of the best bands...hail from Greece

  • I don't know why i get a old world/ medieval/ middle earth type feeling when i listen to this song. But this song is amazing, easily within my top 5 favorite WT songs.

  • just one word: AMAZING!!!!

  • This song fits to a lot of politicans, as well.

Especially this piece of lyrics: "He can only be

If you believe what he tells you"

  • Love you Sharon Den Adel !!

  • I seriously love this song!

  • this reminds me of Lord Loss from the demonata books.

  • Love this song!!!!!!

  • Wow... just... wow! <3

  • Wer braucht schon Mainstream? Geiler Song! Nach wie vor!

  • 2.06 that sounds so majestic. This album still plays on my emotions. It gives me shivers and that is the sign of classic music. One of the best Dutch bands ever.

  • This song is just... Amazing.

  • what is this song about?i love this song.it never gets old.go within temptation!!!!!

  • My favorite song in WT!!! Absolute Genius!!!!!!!!!!

  • i find all the songs on mother earth to be nothing less than excellent (beauty is always in the ear of the listener), so this is one of them. the phrase "voice of an angel" was meant for sharon, and in this song she sings about a not-so-nice angel, which i find most appropriate. p.s. good job on getting the lyrics right!

  • i love this song soo much. i practically grew up with WT, and know all the songs. <on the way to a holiday, we used to play all the cd's of WT over and over again:D xdutch girl:D WT rocks!!!

  • The song is undoubtly well performed. The thing that concers me here is that who do they speak of? Obviously if its real world connected its the satan, but they are not christans.

I think should be careful with this. Cause those that are not with him, are against him.

Take care people, for all of you who believe in Truth and God.

  • @nLexy

This group is German, and they said this song was about Hitler.

Also, I think you should be careful about placing people into boxes of either for or against, as the world is not that simple.

I think this song is a very strong reminder that we should be very aware when our authorities advocates that war and hate is the only solution to a problem....

Also religious hate has become a popular trend today, as Muslims has become a hate figure very much like the Jews before....

  • @Nabo00o : False, WT are from the Netherlands. But it´s a mistake that happens sometimes.

  • @EndOfDeceive

Sorry! I too often confuse some of these countries....

I just saw it like they had a more direct relation to Hitler geographically than me for example, who come from Norway ;D

    Thank you.

  • @Nabo00o : The language is very similar, I know many people who confuse it with German when they hear interviews or something like that.

But Hitler is such a big historical person that his deeds moved and still move people all around the world. And the Netherlands are near.

So, now you know where WT come from, and everyone is happy^^

    Please =)

  • This was song was about Hitler, but I think it applies to every authority that tells us to hate each other and be afraid. Like the Bush eras, hate and fear was the key to everything they accomplished, as with Nazi Germany. And it will happen again if we don't recognize right from wrong, love from hate.....
