If people only knew the truth of the gospel. This is very sad. God is a God of love but He is also a God of judgement. Prepare yourself for His return.
I remember seeing this sketch somewhere as a kid, and it's stayed in my memory ever since, but I never knew the source to track it down again. Cut to today and I'm a huge Stewart Lee fan, I've been to see him live several times, and now I discover this! Just when I thought I couldn't love him anymore, it turns out I was a fan before I ever knew who he is. Awesome.
I remember in sunday school thinking this myself when I heard the story of the prodigal son. It didn't seem fair. Nor did Jesus's treatment of Martha compared to Mary, nor did Gods treatment of Job seem fair either, although that particular story is outside the parables. So many contradictory elements in the bible which are brilliantly lampooned here. I suppose the story is supposed to teach contentment with ones lot and faith in the redemptive powers of christ, but amounts to praise of folly.
@artstuX - I'll Pray for you. Thats all I can say I will not argue with vein words, I have more respect for My God and Myself. Knowing what he has done in my life and where he's brought me from theres nothing you can say against him that will affect the way I love him.
@horsedoctorman - Well i'll Let that be on your conscience. Not Mine, not meaning that in a bad way, but if you ever want to know the true meaning of this story please write me I have many sermons on this story one of which I preached myself. There is very little things in this video that actually deal with the true meaning of this.
