  • Used to see a guy play this in the seventies in folk clubs in the Midlands.

He was part of a duo.I think he was in a band called Quiver(?) as well.Used to play Classical Gas too but I always remember this one.

  • Peter Afendoulis made it famous in the 70's and 80's.

  • And, on his, Album ("There's only One 'F' in Afendoulis") he gave writing credits to "Turner/Mills". The version he does was co-written by Peter and Ian Mills, but original idea came from a fragment performed by Dave Turner.

  • I remember this song, I had not heard it in over 30 years, I attended a concert by , a trio of folk singers, in the late 1960's in Trinidad, Colorado,

The song was totally outrageous and funny especially being performed at a Catholic school gym. Sure great to hear it again.

  • This song was originally by my dad. Dave Turner. i'm trying to catch up with people who knew him when he was on tv and doing stuff with jasper carrot. if you could get in touch with anything to send me in the right direction I would be very greatful.

    Joe.

  • @joeamonuk Was this song not written by Bob Hudson?

  • What can I say - classic entertainment. So sick and so funny - brings back some great memories of Ackworth. In fact its become the Easter Anthem. Cheers Stuart and Anne. Love Lizzie
