  • That is a perfect vid of your Bichon trying to get the attention of the big dog. Looks like it worked, lol. That Big dog could make a meal out of the Bichon if it wanted too.

  • The big dog is my friend's GS Niko. He was 9 at the time and Chloe was a puppy. They would run and play and he would get tired. it is funny how tolerant he is of her. They love each other! :-) he comes over all the time in the summer. Every time I watch this video I laugh. I love how she taps him on the butt and runs away. They are good friends. You would never believe it! :-) She does not care about the bone, she just wants to play.

  • I had a good laugh watching this video. Nice that your Chloe and the big dog are good friends.

  • I didn't have enough room in my previous comment to reply to your blanket statement that I don't know anything about dog body language. This sounds more like you feeling very defensive.

The older dog's tail goes down and his ears are slightly back. These are both negotiation signals. He is trying to negotiate a personal space with the pup. The pup ignores this. He also gives clear warning signs. I could hear a low growl. And those air bites are also warnings to stay away.

  • I am the Bichon pup's owner and I can see how you would think that. Please watch the video Chloe loves tail. You will see her just laying with Niko . She loves Niko and he loves her. Niko is my friend's dog and they are the best of friends. I have a picture of them sleeping together on a lounger. She just wanted to play and Niko and her would run around the yard for a long time. She is 2 yrs old now and they still play together. They REALLY love each other and are so happy together. THANKS!

  • The older and bigger dog is being harrassed by the Bichon pup. What a bad accident waiting to happen here. The bigger dog, Niko, did not know how to discipline Chloe. You will sometimes see the juvenile pinned down by the more experienced adult in cases like this. That would have been the best thing that could have happened to this pup.

  • A little knowledge is dangerous. Can you not read a dog's body language? Niko is not hovering over the bone or guarding it or even growling. He would never hurt her. She is now 2 years old and they have been playing this game almost everyday. I have pics of her sleeping nestled next to his neck while he is chewing his bone. He genuinely loves her. Only a novice would say, "This is an accident waiting to happen." Before you embarrass yourself again, I suggest you read books on dog behavior.

  • I'm talking specifically what is happening in this video. Not two years on...

If even one of the dogs is not having fun, then it is not play. This is what most people fail to understand. You may think the Bichon pup looks all cute in the way she's playing, but the fact is the adult dog is clearly not enjoying it. When I said "accident" I meant that an injury could happen where the adult dog steps on the little one. The older dog is clearly tolerant of this pup and isn't going to bite her.

  • Thanks! Your Chloe is beautiful too! I watched your videos and subscribed. My Chloe will be 2 on 2/28/09. How old is your Chloe? I love the one where she scratches on the door to go out! Bichons are the BEST! Hugs to Chloe from Chloe! :-)

  • Your Chloe is absolutely adorable!! She plays with her "big" brother / sister the same way my Chloe does with hers!!

  • Dogs are awesome! Every time I watch this vidoe I have to laugh! Niko is so patient and it is a riot the way Chloe literally taps him on the butt to get him to chase her. They play so well together.

  • its so cool how well dogs can express themselves

  • I have to laugh every time I see Chloe tap Niko on the butt and run away! What a riot! :-) She just wants him to chase her.

  • does she get tearstains at all? (paying 4000$ i hope not :P) but if she does, what do you use to get rid of them?

  • No, she doesn't get tear stains. I guess I am lucky! But they get sleepers just like we do. I clean the sleepers everyday with a tissue. The pet stores sell tear stain remover pads.

  • Your Chloe loves to do the bichon run. Please watch yvonne's bo dances. They would have fun together.
