This is an amazing video. Reznor is such a bright, introspective guy. Why is everyone commenting on his weight so much? Who cares? He got off drugs and started eating properly and pumping some iron. And he's now in his forties not his twenties...I think he looks good for his age. What does everyone writing these comments look like? I'm sure all like rock stars.

I respect your opinion, but I'm not the only one who thinks what I had expressed. You can clearly see disengagement and lack of enthusiasm in Kevin Rose's face. Let's face it - Trent Reznor's talents clearly lie in his creative ability, and he's spent the bulk of his professional career pursuing just that. His oratorical skills are paltry, and listening to his business tactics it's clear that he's much less a shrewd entrepreneur than an emotionally-motivated artist.

HIs "bulking up" is a result of sobering up after years of drug abuse. He's completely sober now, and doesn't even drink. I imagine a dramatic change like that would have some effect on your metabolism and protein intake. He just looks much healthier now. :)

YES, finally, an in-depth video interview that actually gives the interviewee a chance to answer and doesn't cut it down to a bunch of generic soundbytes and obligatory plugs! I hadn't thought much of Digg in the past, but the fact that they did this kind of interview and presented it this way makes me respect them a whole lot more.
I know it was just a vote-driven list of questions, but this level of depth (and freedom to answer fully) is really what all media interviews should be about.
I love the part where Kevin asked what tech gadgets he likes or uses. As he was answering the question it was not hard to notice that there is wall of Pattern-Sequencer's behind him...LOL! It would've been hilarious if Trent pointed at them and said; "Well...what do you think"?. Maybe not that funny but....
This is a very interesting, intelligent and insightful interview. I find Trent very professional and eloquent and I like the questions submitted....still one of my favorite musicians of all time.
I wish i could have a conversation with Trent face to face. It's depressing to know that will never be possible. What an awesome musician he is. His work is truly remarkable.
That was a really interesting listen and thankfully had some good questions rather than the usual self congratulatory guff that gets shoved in Mr Reznors face on the standard interview fare. :)

That's awesome that he admitted Tapeworm was "mediocre". Usually artists would never admit that, and even more importantly they'll put out music whether it's mediocre or not just for the sake of releasing something and profiting.
So he is a real artist. Whatever that is. Not a corporate whore. I guess one can be an artist and a whore, but usually that is not the case. Cant find an example. Anyone has an example of an artist who is controlled by the industry?

Trent really can answer just about any question with depth and intelligence. You could ask him how he likes his eggs and he would probably get into a very detailed discussion about the poultry industry and how it ties into how he cooks his eggs and why we shouldn't have to pay for eggs because the corporations don't really have any right to things that haven't been born yet. @MercurialGaming he was kind of skinny in the late 80s/early 90s (circa Pretty Hate Machine, Downward Spiral). Had a very metal/hard rocker/industrial look then. Early-mid 90s (c. Perfect Drug) he had a more "goth" look. Late 90s (c. The Fragile) for a while he did look a bit emo, I guess. Then he went off to rehab. When he came back for With_Teeth he was sober and beefy. He eventually shaved his head during that tour to complete his transition to the Henry Rollins look.
I thought he was faking it before he talked about having a computer in his pocket. He's definitely aware of what's going on. He's probably one of the oldest alive who does.
musically he's unoriginal(only in the beginning), but admits it. Trent and the guitarist (also an arsehole) started shaking their heads at the crowd because they weren't clapping in time to their shit music. Yeah I was definitly happy Trent. I have already bought most of your halo's, and on amazon right now, I have 1 through 24 in my wish list, i'm about to go through with that purchase on the first. @MercurialGaming he was kind of skinny in the late 80s/early 90s (circa Pretty Hate Machine, Downward Spiral). Had a very metal/hard rocker/industrial look then. Early-mid 90s (c. Perfect Drug) he had a more "goth" look. Late 90s (c. The Fragile) for a while he did look a bit emo, I guess. Then he went off to rehab. When he came back for With_Teeth he was sober and beefy. He eventually shaved his head during that tour to complete his transition to the Henry Rollins look.

musically he's unoriginal(only in the beginning), but admits it. But he is in his own league when it comes to the music industry and proper marketing that is cost efficient and effective for bands starting out im sure im gonna get alot of thumbs down but all you gotta do is combine skinny puppy,bowie,bauhaus and you have NIN but at least he admits it unlike marilyn manson who ripped off every one i mentioned including trent... plus some

I like how he doesn't complain about anything or have strong opinions that interfere with other peoples opinions. Very open minded and respectful. Instead of complaining about downloading music, he realizes it is what it is, it won't go away, make the best of it. He's very real, smart, and like i said, very respectful. What a cool person.

What a fucking arsehole Trent Reznor is. I saw NIN at Sonisphere (Knebworth) last year and they were shit. Trent and the guitarist (also an arsehole) started shaking their heads at the crowd because they weren't clapping in time to their shit music. Why the fuck were they at Sonisphere on the main stage anyway!!?? Trent Reznor looks like a chip shop owner. Good riddance NIN!
