no. I think the current fluid simulator is also a simplified navier stokes simulator, but it doesn't support any turbulence. A navier stokes simulator simulates fluids or gases in a volume. It isn't particle based, it works with mass distribution on a fixed grid. You can easily make very realistic smoke and fire with it. You should really check out the channel 'farsthary84'. He has already uploaded some experiments with an early stage of the new simulator.

ya it is. youtube should make it HD before it can be viewed. its just annoying waiting after it has finished processing to process some more for hd.

Totally agree. And what bothers me most is that the normal video quality is also a lot worse until it is fully processed and HD is available.
