Im so glad it ended the way it did.

Apart from the fact Tellah died (even though that was earlier on) and Kain went away, but i guess it dosn't matter because when ever kain does come back, there will always be a place for him.

I'm so sorry for Kain. He wasn't a great personality or anything in the game. He even was the enemy for some time. He was helping everyone although there was nothing he had to fight for. His love (Rosa) was reserved for Cecil and so there was no place for him.

I should add that there are SOME Final Fantasy games that happen on the same world. FF X-2 happens on the same world as X. FF XII happens on the same world as Tactics. The VII spinoff games happen in the same world as VII, obviously.

He's basically a younger, more competent Zapp Brannigan, forever pursuing a woman with zero interest in him in whom his interest seems to be skin-deep. Given twenty years of having to run his own kingdom, I could probably see him growing into someone she'd like, but not as we saw him in-game.
