I didn't... My sister did. :P I just played it round her flat and did the easy bits, I didn't get my own Megadrive until a couple of years later, I don' t think I ever owned Ecco myself. All I remember was whenever this thing appeared I hid behind some cushions, watching it in a darkened room didn't help either.

Seriously, this thing scared the crap out of me when I was a kid and actually gave me a fear of dark water. I still can't swim in the sea when it's night time, no joke.

I really should play this game; I have Tides of Time but not the original. THAT version of the Vortex Queen really freaked me out, not because she was scary, but because the walls rising and falling in the background messed with my head and made me feel dizzy. Not fun.
