It does not matter if the ball was passed the line if scrimmage, it only matters if his entire body was past it, even if his toe is the only thing behind the line it still counts.
I wanna see Hall show some breakaway speed. If he can break out a big return and show some deep speed, he will make this squad. It'd be nice if he could prove to replace D-Jax at punt returner, only using him when the game is on the line, or something like that.
@d3v07 I watched it in slo mo his foot and the ball were behind the line, but his other leg was across but still in the air. not sure if that counts, they still counted it
@chrislongram4life It is legit. If any part of his body is behind the line it is legal. Eli Manning did this a couple of years ago against the Eagles. Reid challenged, only part of his foot was behind and it was legal.

@d3v07 As long as ANY part of the QB is behind the line of scrimmage it's a legal throw. It could be a toenail and it'd be ok. Eli Manning burned my Eagles on a throw like that a couple yrs ago.
I had no idea Chad Hall was so explosive, looking at 2:23 and 2:57 I was impressed. Then I looked at some of his college footage, the guy could be like in aWelker role in the slot, or he can line up in the backfield and be kind of in a brian westbrook role
what happened to the last drive catch?

@chrislongram4life one foot behind the line of scrimage is fine, the qb can still throw
JewelsShield23 1 year ago
@chrislongram4life oh it counts. they allowed eli manning to throw it when just his toe from his back foot was in the air on top of the line, so ya.

@chrislongram4life as long as ANY part of your body is behind the line its not a penalty im pretty sure.

@d3v07 The rule says that all the person has to cross the line.
Maiste 1 year ago
@d3v07 his entire body has to be across the line for a penalty to be called. and go back and watch it carefully he was completely behind the line.

@d3v07
Your entire body has to be past the line of scrimmage in order for an illegal forward pass to be called. If it's only part of the body, it's okay.

@downonthebayou I hope he makes the team. Chad Hall is last on the depth chart at WR, but I hope his performance vs the Jags moves him up some.
chewchew1976 1 year ago
@downonthebayou This was the first time I saw video of his run out of the backfield, damn what a burst of speed. He needs to make this team.
