lol I used to have a black pacu with my catfish and id feed him lots of kale (he LOVES IT) and one time after i gave him a carrot and my bf took it out, he got really upset. So everytime after he entered the room hed make atleast one charge at the glass (more like a splash). He always had a grudge against him after xD

@DerangedDrew well its not exactly the same. i use the same media and chemicals and crystalls to treat the pond as i do the tank. So the water quality will be kinda similar...However, i dont bother making sure he adapts slowly because arowanas are very hardy and will usually be fine...i dont recommend it tho...just works for me :s

@Rafai nope he doesnt touch the stuff...ive tried tho. chopped up, deboned, whole fish...he only eats hikari spirulina LARGE floating pellets. he LOVES IT! but hes not eating atm...duno why...maybe spawning season :s

apparently asian redtail cats are the more aggressive redtails! they beat the crap out of most fish so beware! beautiful fish tho! have fun raising them :)

yeh they are doing really great. they are HUGE now from wen i made that moving vid. now i have 5 silver arows in the pond and one jar. the 5 silvers school together but th ejar stays solitary. pretty amazing!

nah i dont worry about them. they only eat hikari spirulina large pellets nowadays. pretty weird but im not complaining. my larger TSN used to hunt the baby arows but he gave up.

oh yeh u can buy very cheap large koi here in malaysia but they are often not very pretty. only the really expensive ones are worth buying. i dont wana overcrowd my pond with unnecessary fish since its already getting overcrowded. maybe in the future wen i get a bigger pond :p

oh and giano find my thread on the monsterfishkeepers website regarding pond filtration pics. that shud answer all ure filtration questions. i dont really know any of the technical stuff since i let my fish pond guy handle it!

well the thing is that kois are REALLY EXPENSIVE!!!! if i lost a koi worth a few grand to a hungry RTC then it wud seriously hurt my feelings.

furthermore it is hard to buy or find a koi large enuf to live in my pond.

i guess i do like LARGE kois, especially the rare japanese black and white kois. they are amazing. i shall have to save lots of cash before i invest :)
