  • nice to see the inside without screwing with my own engine

  • Hmmm, a video grinding on a starter motor for 30 seconds. Great way to burn up a starter motor. That sort of treatment might be indicative of the type of treatment that caused you to require removing the engine in the first place. Remind me to not have you work on my CX's!

  • @TurboDV8

Hmmmm, you Turdo twats all all the same - think you know everything.

Do you actually know how to work on a bike?

You probably couldn`t put a two piece fucking jigsaw together, let alone a bike engine.

`Enthusiasts` like you spend more time in your garage gazing at your garage-queen bikes while smearing oil on your ass and wanking into your polishing cloths than you do riding the fucking things.

    Now fuck off.

  • Well, um, yes I do smear oil on my ass and wank into my polishing cloths, but that's beside the point! When I am not doing that I am taking CX engines apart. I have five CX's, turbo and normally aspirated. Been working on CX's for 22 years, probably longer than you've been wanking your whole life. Now, back to my polishing cloths...

  • great view of the valvegear, mine is tapping a fair bit so some adjustment needed, camchain has just been done by the chap i bought it off so that's good to know. they do make a lot of top end noise anyway. CX500, legend!

  • Aside from a few minor problems I had getting the bike running after it had sat for almost two years, I love my CX (500 custom) for a 1981 model with 50,000 miles on it, it runs very strong. I've got to agree with skippys70- it's a shame Honda didn't build them with bigger displacements, and higher gearing- they'd be monsters...

  • Tecnikal and use materials,CX is maybe best bike on the half liter class ,ever. Thanks Honda engeeners and workers.

  • Cam chain tensioner....do u know of any problems with this in the CX500 eng. ?

  • yes it is actually a very common problem, id suggest doing some reasurch on it there are many different ways to fix it.

  • only in the 1978 model, but most of them were fixed via a recall.

  • @linoleumcarving don't forget the big end problems

  • these are the best bikes honda produced. The only way they would have been better if they had made them 750's or 1000's.Taller gears & more cc's would've been great! These dummies have it all mixed up nowadays with wanting everything to look & sound like a crappy davidson.I really enjoyed the bits with the engine turning.Skip,80'CX500 Custom,45000 miles,no problems!

  • bifurcated rocker gear- 4 valves operated by just 2 pushrods! cx's are cool bikes!

    The voice of for america...

  • well sounds like you have something against america.... and I love these bikes.

  • prophetnite: "well sounds like you have something against america"

You are correct in your assumption: I despise all things american!

  • Because you have never been to America? Because you have never lived in America? Because at some point someone put this one sided bigotry into your mind. 'America' says nothing about the individualized people or the culture. Other countrys holding such a blind ignorance is truly saddening.

  • Neat (I have an '80 CX500D)
