@foamythe Well, you may not like them, but they do serve an useful purpose. There are some roads around here where you MUST have a high-clearance 4-wheel drive vehicle to get there.
You don't have to be smart to realise that these kind of vehicles are easier to flip over, because they use their own weight as a counterforce for actions of that kind. It's true that the cars themselves are bigger (stronger ?), but I'd rather not flip when being in a car
Good example of the dangers of using a SUV or Chelsea Tractor for the wrong purpose. People buy them believing them to be safer than cars, but this is nonsense. Americans love them because they have little imagination and their cars are so poor. I hate them because they interact badly with the cars they hit often overiding lower vehicales load paths and pose a far more dangerous risk to cyclists pedestrailns etc. The good news is goverments and oil price increases will tax them out of existance.
lol we were in orlando swimming at the pool at our hotel and we were getting ready to go back upstairs and you could here skids and a car flipped over

That's why suv's suck :o no seriously they are still some of the worst things to drive safety wise and mpg wise.
foamythe 1 year ago
@foamythe that wasnt an suv anyway it was an old dodge caravan or plymouth voyager

@foamythe
You absolutely cannot compare the safety of an old SUV to the safety of crossovers with ESP 15 years later.

@bg1379 I'm not comparing well actually i am comparing it in terms of safety against other vehicles
