I remember when my parents gave this game to me as a birthday gift when I turned 8 and ever since it has been my favourite game for over 10 years.

Maybe it's because I got into gaming and played around the PS2 era but I don't see why FF 7 is any better than FF 13. Both are extremely dramatic, epic and have cheesy dialogue (Like most epics do). @JoanMichele Lemme deconstruct your comment. ALL, I repeat, ALL Final Fantasies are linear. Sure you could walk off and get your ass killed by a more powerful monster in the older ones but 13 is the same as 7-10, it was a straight in 7 until Midgar, 10 was a straight until the VERY END OF THE GAME and at the end of chapter 11, 13 opens up so your full of crap there. You know the countless text boxes in 4, 5, 6, 7, and so on? That's exposition too so those must suck as well I guess too. (cont.)

@JoanMichele Horrible characters? Have you seen Rikku, Cat Sith or those bastard twins in IV? No, the characters in 13 had the LEAST amount of annoying characters, Lightning wasn't an emo bitch like Cloud/Squall, Sazh wasn't a black stereotype like Barret, Vanille was just as annoying as Yuffie or Rikku so your smoking crack on that one. @orwell9788 Those twins in FF4 were badass, since they sacrificed themselves to save the party once. Lighning was worse since she has the personality of a cardboard, Sazh had a fucking chocobo on his fro. Yeah no black stereotype there. And Vanille is 10 x worse, about on par with Tidus. Not to mention FF13 was one long linear corridor for the first 25 hours.

Also nice to see that FF13 fanboys are illiterate, not knowing the difference between "your" and 'you're"

@orwell9788 You'll first have to say how the twins were annoying brats. Comparing FF13 to FF10, which is almost as shit, is not a good point. Nobody is saying that FF7 isn't a shit game. I am just saying that it smells less bad. Also, there is a difference between a linear story, and a blatantly corridor-like design in the levels.

One more thing, considering the standard of education in the US, that's not saying much. If you weren't such a fucking idiot, you'd hate FF13 too.

becouse modern RPG games are nothing compare to the old ones where storyline was the most important thing in the game, not realistic graphics like today. Good example: FF VII vs FF XIII

What a great game, this one my parents got for me on a whim, while shopping for someone else. And we all know how that usually goes, but to my great surprise and joy, this was a fantastic game. One of my all time favorite RPGs really.

@rpgfreak18 The day that I went to play Grandia & found that someone had scratched the disc was the most devastating day of my life. I was heartbroken when it wouldn't play, so much so that I wrote to Ubisoft & asked if they knew of a way for it to be replaced or repaired. I was shoked when I recieved a letter back from them, although there was nothing that could be done at the time, I'm happy to say now I own 3 copies of it & one is the original release. XD
