Close stance squats work your quads. Very wide stance work your hips / glutes. Do a quick you tube or google search for SquatPrecision. This will show proper depth levels. Going very deep will help develop overall squat strengh, and will help if you ever start going to Powerlifting meets.
Not a damn thing wrong with the depth, but that is definately not a wide stance. it may be wide, as in outside of shoulder width, but hitting depth with that stance is easy. It's hard to hit depth with a truly wide stance.
point it out... trust me, do you see anyone that squats over like 300 lb do it straight? its will fuck up your knees like that, its going in an unnatural direction
really good ur a natural...just eat

I have some pretty simply questions, maybe someone could help.
1) What part of the leg do wide legged squats workout?
2) What part of the leg do shoulder width squats workout?
3) What part of the leg do close width squats workout?
I'd like to know what muscle groups are primarly focused and to what degree, in regards to above mentioned questions.
Thanks.

generally the wider you go the more you're using your posterior chain(hips, hams, glutes, low back) to squat it rather than your quads.

@pred178 Wide stance squats develop the same quad muscle fibers as narrow stance squats along with activating the hips.

Squatting with straight feet is retarded .. period!! only stupid personal trainers use that and they only teach quarter squats anyway..
feet should be at approximately 30 degree angle which is a natural feet position you want your knees to track outward not in front of you
check out olympic lifters & powerlifters they practice 2 different squatting methods but they both share several things including angled feet
