  • David--Did you try out the mandocello version of this instrument? I am thinking about buying a Weber Octar. Are you still happy with yours? I just wonder how versatile it is. Great playing. Keep up with the videos.

  • I haven't seen the mandocello version of the octar. I am still very pleased with my octar with the exception of the long scale length. It can be a bear to play long stretches on the beast. The sound of the instrument though tends to make up for the playability issue. They do make one with a shorter scale length but I haven't heard one of those.

  • Very well done! ! Enjoyed listening to it. Do you mean that when the song came over from Scotland, the tune was altered slightly and called Campbell's Farewell to Red Gap? Still the same song.....just altered when it came across the Atlantic.......you don't happen to have this down in tablature do you?

  • This is the old time version of the Scottish pipe tune, Campbell's Farewell to Redcastle. The tunes are virtually identical.

  • Another great tune. Whats the origin of this? I would love to know the history.
