  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • It´s so sensitive and beautifull, some really good luck made me find this on the internet, I have never heard of Norstein and I am really amazed by his work! Too bad it seems he is not so known here in Brazil, I wished there were portuguese translations for this great animations and storys so the children could understand0. Although I show it to my children anyway. Thank you for posting this video and sharing it worldwide!

  • I feel inspired by this for some reason. I could write a Russian novel.

  • Weary Sun, by Jerzy Petersburski

  • I love the music

  • > that was ... shockingly tragic ... lmao.

Good reason for laugh, what can i say.

Hoppe You've also rolled over the floor

  • also at the end when only two of the men came back from the war, that was both hilarious and shockingly tragic at the same time. omg lmao.

  • So... in that scene... they went off to fight Nazis?

    cool beans

  • Norstein books in English and Russian are available at Norstein Collection at Amazon

  • Im speechless...

  • Слава Русскому народу!

  • LOVE THIS MUSICCC!!!!

where can i get the music ?

  • Aww, the scene where the little boy puts his arms around the crow...

  • is it wierd if i find the need to cry while watching these movie

  • this is the third time i watched the whole thing, i still don't know what the grey wolf's story means

  • @SuperHeroMania The little grey wolf is a metaphor for an orphan. The lullaby at the very beginning of the animation has a very symbolic meaning: it warns little children of the wolves, which emphasises the fact that wolves are ostracised by the society, by people, and so are orphans because they've got no one to care for them, especially during the war time later on. Overall, the story is about our society in the eyes of a child. Hope that helped))

  • @idaliakulik thanks a lot bud

  • @SuperHeroMania You're welcome;)

  • @idaliakulik

    Hello.

I'm writing my diploma about Tale of Tales. Where Did you get your interpretation of the figure of the little wolf from?

    Thanks!

  • @innuendoschild

    Haha, nowhere, that's my own

  • @innuendoschild It is in the book of one of the authors of the scropt writes for this cartoon - Lyudmila Petrushevskaya.

  • amazing

  • Plot: From wikipedia -Part 4

Another symbol connecting nearly all of these different themes are green apples (which may symbolize life, hope, or potential).Yuriy Norshteyn wrote in Iskusstvo Kino magazine that the film is "about simple concepts that give you the strength to live."

  • Plot: From wikipedia -Part 3

Several recurring characters and their interactions make up a large part of the film, such as the poet, the little girl and the bull, the little boy and the crows, the dancers and the soldiers, and especially the little grey wolf (Russian: се́ренький волчо́к, syeryenkiy volchok).

  • Plot: From wikipedia -Part 2

The film is thus made up of a series of related sequences whose scenes are interspersed between each other. One of the primary themes involves war, with particular emphasis on the enormous losses the Soviet Union suffered on the Eastern Front during World War II.

  • Plot: From wikipedia -Part 1

Tale of Tales, like Tarkovsky's Mirror, attempts to structure itself like a human memory. Memories are not recalled in neat chronological order; instead, they are recalled by the association of one thing with another, which means that any attempt to put memory on film cannot be told like a conventional narrative.

  • i wish i could understand russian!

  • @poob4633 there are no meamingful word apart from the wolf song

the tango is just a lovesong from thirties, nothing special

    I

  • can anyone please tell me, what music plays in the winter scene with that boy and parents.

  • It is Mozart. Concert for pianino №4 in G major, II Andante

  • Моцарт это...

  • what is the name of the Mozart's sonata

  • This is a gorgeous animation. I'm curious. At the Laputah Animation Festival in Tokyo what did they say was the best film of all time?

  • "Hedgehog in the Fog"

  • I personally prefer this to Hedgehog in the Fog. :-) This one has won Best Animated Film of All Time in other polls.

  • This is quite a good quality download that you have, I'm impressed.

  • Same again!
