Sim. O tema de Jornada nas Estrelas o filme foi tambem de toda a serie de filmes Jornada nas Estrelas 2-3-5-6-7-8-9-10-11 e da Nova Geraçao na serie de Tv
JJ Abram's Star Trek used the original theme in the movie. He must use this theme for the next one! You're right, it is the most identifiable theme even for non-Star Trek fan or casual Star Trek fan like me.
@dude75able I'm not surprised. Hey, whatever pays the bills, right? I just don't like it when people like JJ Abrams tried to cross Star Wars stories with Star Trek. Like you said, it's two different stories. k
Personally, I like this theme better than the one from the Original TV series. This theme just seems to have more emotion to it, in my opinion anyway.
Star Trek the Motion Picture: AWFUL Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan: EXCELLENT Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock: EXCELLENT Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home: GOOD Star Trek 5: The Final Frontier: OK Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country: EXCELLENT Star Trek Generations: GOOD Star Trek First Contact: EXCELLENT Star Trek Insurrection: AWFUL Star Trek Nemesis: EXCELLENT STAR TREK 2009: EXCELLENT Galaxy Quest: EXCELLENT
@dude75able okay, I can see that...and don't get me wrong-I've got nothing against a little action/adventure. This is scifi after all! Plus, my favorite Star Trek movie is Wrath of Khan, so I guess I can't really say much :D
@dude75able *grins* oh gosh, am I that obvious? To be honest, I really wasn't ever impressed by the Star Wars franchise...I don't know why. Not to say the movies are bad, 'cause they're not. I just don't prefer them. Of course, that was several years ago when I tried watched the movies, so I probably ought to give the franchise a second chance. Actually, that's why I don't like ST09. Too much Star Wars for a Star Trek film :)
@dude75able love your new ratings of the movies! LOL I like good scifi (and some bad too...Plan 9, anyone?) too...just not Star Wars. Not really sure why. Guess it's just a preference. I do want to give Star Wars another shot sometime. Hmm....Darth Vader v. the Borg is an interesting combination! I'm intrigued, but I think that the two franchises should remain independent of one another, even if just for originality's sake.
@SpockNation Yeah, true. But did you know that ILM (the fx company that did STAR WARS) also worked on the TREK films? The two genres are closely related.
They are different though. STAR TREK is about a vision of the future, a positive one.
STAR WARS is more like a swords and sorcerers fantasy set in a galaxy far away. I just can't choose.
I was a major Star Wars fan when i was a kid. High School is where i became a Trekkie. Probably because it is an adult Sci Fi.
As much as I LOVE THIS THEME...I was glad it wasn't in the last film because...
THEY WEREN'T READY FOR ITS EPIC AWESOMENESS YET!
I mean, let's be real about this, FIRST you need Kirk and Crew to get together so they can have the TV Theme...
NOW that they're ready to really get going, and Trek can be reborn, NOW they may try and prove themselves worthy of the Theme the Enterprise Heroes, of Kirk and Picard! (Arhcer? Pfff...he's not fit to polish Kirk's boots or make Picard tea!)
Saw STAR TREK I part of 5 feature run Trekie marathon day mostly in 70mm from STAR TREK II onwards at the CIC Empire Leicester Square, London October 8th 1989 for just £10.00 for that you get uniform low end JBL screen bass sub bass and surround in Lucasfilm THX sound system! It was out of this world never felt the James Horner score sounding so better before.
STAR TREK the motion picture sounded more like 70mm Dolby stereo than optical that’s how good the THX with Dolby EQ at the Empire.
Kirk and Crew weren't together yet...they hand't gotten to their TV theme yet, so they just weren't prepared for the epic super-awesome amazingness that is this theme! ;)
But they DID have a pretty good theme as it was, and they had the Original Series theme song--wailing vocals and all--blaring at the end in all it's nostalgic glory, so yep...
The Captain and Crew are back!
The Enterprise is back!
TIME TO GO A-STAR TREKKIN' ONCE MORE WITH THIS THEME! :D
Star Trek, the Motion Picture was on HBO a few weeks ago. I had already seen it as a kid back when it came out 30 years ago. When I heard this opening title a few weeks ago, I was so surprised because I had always associated it with Star Trek, The Next Generation theme on TV. For a moment I had even thought the movie was re-made with The Next Generation music. I'm still surprised that this originated from the Motion Picture - very catchy theme song. This & Star Trek 2 themes are my favorites.
Continued: There are some basic similarities in both Horner's and Goldsmith's main themes and Horner's aggressive music for Khan is typical Goldsmith action writing (Klingon Theme and some ideas from The Wind & The Lion). I'm not taking anything away from Horner, I just think Goldsmith's score is the better of the two, while Horner's is the more exciting.
The Goldsmith Vs Horner theme debate. Horner's score is excellent and imaginatively arranged. But Horner is scoring a fast moving, character-driven film - a lot of fun and has some real emotional punch. Goldsmith scored a slow-moving, pretty cerebral movie with large scope, but thin story and under-developed characters. I think Goldsmith had the more difficult job and I think his socre is more mature (he was at the height of his powers at the time). Horner music owes a bit to Goldsmith.
The best Star Trek theme, without question! My favourite variation of this is the lush 'Ilia's Theme' from the first film. I hope it comes to the fore in subsequent Abrams Trek movies.
This was for the Original Series Crew when they got older and the Enterprise was refitted...
They're just starting on their 5-year mission now, LOVE that ending in the last movie, Nimoy (Shatner would have been nice, but I understand the choice of Nimoy) giving the speech, warp sped, and then the TOS original music, newly upbeat, to go with the newly worked uniforms and ships...
Kirk and Crew weren't together yet...they hand't gotten to their TV theme yet, so they just weren't prepared for the epic super-awesome amazingness that is this theme! ;)
But they DID have a pretty good theme as it was, and they had the Original Series theme song--wailing vocals and all--blaring at the end in all it's nostalgic glory, so yep...

fine:
STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE:ok
STAR TREK 5: THE FINAL FRONTIER: it wasn't Shatner's fault.
STAR TREK (2009): good
I like good sci-fi.
Example: The DUNE book series is EXCELLENT while the 1984 was AWFUL and the Remake was slightly better.

@dude75able you rate TMP as awful, and you rate TFF as ok and ST09 as excellent? How are you rating these???
TMP was just as epic as WOK, but in a more understated way. It is a movie of new beginnings, and of coming home. All while performing in pajamas.
TFF was just terrible. Could have possibly been a good movie if Shatner had not been behind the whole thing.
And ST09 had more plot holes than swiss cheese. That's what we get for entrusting our beloved franchise to a Star Wars fan.
