Well, the main advantage is that you smoke LESS PAPER! Therefore you have better flavor and the joint actually burns better too. On top of that, adding the 'kicker' (filter, tip, whatever you want to call the rolled up piece of paper at the end) prevents the tobacco/bud from going in your mouth...Lastly, it just looks better than a normal joint. Enjoy!

Your theory is a little faulted here...The speed at which a joint burns depends basically on three things...

1. What you have put in it.

2. How even you packed then rolled it.

2. How hot and even it burns...

From years of past experience I've seen that a joint is more apt to burn evenly and taste better when less paper is used!
