  • Wow, Rosario was the only guy that could back up Ramirez. Two bulls who locked horns. Rosario got sucked into fighting Ramirez's type of fight. If he had picked his shots, he could have stopped Ramirez.

  • Edwin shoulda took his time after that knockdown.

  • well, every fighter had their peak period, and this was ramirez at his very best just like chavez at his fight against meldrick taylor while camacho was at his best day when he fought ramirez

and yes, in boxing style makes fight

  • The good old days of boxing on free TV.

  • dont be ignorant tw69hands. thats why their is contracts it dont matter if its pesos or dollars. and if puerto rican boxers ever decide they want to go fight in mexico. they dont have to worry mexico is a warm and friendly place you are welcome any time. saludos desde mexico..

  • el chapo was my uncle

he was married to my aunt Alma Melecio

  • say what you want but Ramirez sure kicked this

guys ass in his own backyard...

  • Fighters should watch this fight to see what they should do in their opponent's hometown.

  • @jxqrto I know Rosario loses, but he was doing the ass kicking for the 1st 2rds at least.

  • that shit was tuff to watch but i know this is the rematch... where part 2

  • At that moment Rosario was taken with a shot from the Japanese and the referee had to stop the fight not only to protect Rosario but to protect both fighters from a savage Mexican crowd.

  • big guy i am sorry ramirez was a fucking lame. first off they stole the first fight with whitaker. second off he got destroyed against hector camacho and chavez. jaun coggi and mancini are not great boxers. check out the macho man fight your boy looked like he was wearing cement boots.....

  • I agree stain!! Styles make fights and he had nothing for a quick Prime Hector!!

  • This is how good Ramirez was! His ONLY losses were to Olivares,Arguello,Mancini,Rosario,Whitaker,Comacho,Chavez and the 3 time lightweight Champion Juan Coggi who also did not recieve any recognition. All Hall of Famers!! Final record 102-8.Legendary Numbers for overated fighters!!

  • his onley loses.... god damn how many times does he have to lose

  • Yes but what I am trying to say is he only lost to champions! He also beat champions!Losses to the guys I mentioned is no shame. And he won 108 times. He was a great down to earth person with no baggage like the rest of these fighters! He was not appreciated! Get the point! Thanx!

  • Not TO mention ,here is how good Ramirez was.His only losts were to Olivares,Arguello,Mancini,Rosario,Camacho,Whitaker, and the also underated unorthodox 3 time lightweight champion Juan Coggi which was his last fight!!All HALL OF FAMERS!102-9 WAS HIS CAREER RECORD!! Great fighter!!

  • This is the second of 2 encounters! Two good fighters peaking in their careers!!Edwin boxed in the last fight and held off a furious rally by Ramirez. This is what lead to this fight. Though out punched in the first few rounds Jose kept his poise to ko Rosario! Edwin known for his punching power won the first fight as the boxer ,and lost the second won as the puncher!! Jose never quit.A very ,very ,underated champion for those years!

  • otra humillacion para los boricuas y en su casa esas duelen, como siempre los mexicanos dandoles en la madre a los boricuas

  • why do Mexicans always have to go to PuertoRico to fight. Why dont Puertoricans fight in Mexico for once...

  • 61impss. The reason that Mexican boxers always go to Puerto Rico to fight is because Puerto Rico uses the U.S. dollar. So, Mexican boxers actually earn much more by going to Puerto Rico.

  • @61impss:

Maybe it's because Puerto Rico uses the American dollar as its official currency, so the Mexican boxer gets paid in US currency. Just a guess.

  • @61impss Wilfredo asquez kod raul jibaro perez in mexico!!!!! do your research!!!!!! n Boricuas always fight Mexicans in Vegas!!!! And you know thats like Mexican town. Your got homefield advantage overthere so dont front and act like u dont know dis!!!!!!

  • This is a terrific fight and a super win for Ramirez. The posters here know there stuff: Ramirez was totally underrated. What a honorable fighter...no showboating, no loudmouthing...just a professional fighter. An excellent representative of the Mexican sportsman.

  • This is the point I am trying to make to stainshields comment!

  • Ramirez then ko'd Rosario in four.

  • Before this fight Ramirez lost (decision) with Ruben "Puas" Olivares at 18 years old and he give a knockdown to the champion. Ramirez after this fight win to Pernell Whitaker (only one lost), lost with JC Chavez and lost with Hector Macho Camacho. Win to Alexis Arguello.

  • He lost to Olivares by a second round knockout at age 20, and dropped Arguello in round six but lost by split decision. Otherwise I can tell you know your boxing history!!

  • It's a shame Ramirez is very underrated

  • thanks! I remember this fight.

  • Round one:Ramirez down for a straight right. Rosario keeps chasing him but not able to finish.

Round 2:Same scenary of the first.Ramirez down after a flurry of punches. Rosario tries to finish him.
