I have recently begun studying piano again after a couple of decades. Back to Square 1! When I first took lessons as a child, this was the piece my teacher put in front of me and tried to teach me, on my VERY FIRST LESSON. Imagine how overwhelming and upsetting that was? However, he must have lit a small flame of passion in me because I do want to learn this song--'tis a goal I have set as far as my music is concerned. You make it look easy. ;) Curious at how long before you could play it.

You sir... Have not paid attention to your dynamics. You didn't have any crescendos or diminuendos and you didn't slow down at the correct places either.

@KawaiiPuchi24 Thank you sir for pointing out something that has not only been pointed out multiple times, but I've already addressed the issues. If you'll notice this video is also 4 years old. Hence was made when i was very young. Also somewhat mentioned in the description. It's not like you're the only one though, many people seem to be unable to read before posting obnoxious comments.

I'm playing piano for 6 months now and my teacher gave me this (easy) piece a month ago... well I can play it almost perfectly and fast for 2 weeks now ... but... I'm a little confused. Some people get this from their teacher after 2 years of playing piano, why did I get this piece that early? -.-

nice playing, but paramoose83 is right. you should have more dynamics. and is it just me or did u get slower (or faster) at certain parts?

Well I started when I was like 8 so I started with REALLY easy songs. By my own standard I don't consider this a hard song. Yeah my tempo is not clean in this version... This version was more me doing my own thing with the piece rather then following any set tempo. I have another cleaner version of the song posted. I stopped recording because the camera I was using couldn't pick up tone, and so all my songs sound bland.

Yea it's basically just scales and arpeggios. Its a flashy piece and i've always liked it.

Yea I acutally played this song for my grade 6.. and then they moved it to a grade 7 song the year i went ot grade 7. so i played it for that exam aswell xD.

@flybynight420 That is true however I was doing my grade 7 and 8 while in my final years of high school. Not that I struggled much with school, but I also played Hockey, and Soccer, so that combined with like 1-2 hours of practicing a day = no time to learn another song. I wanted to finish grade 8 piano so I could use that mark as a grade 12 University course so I had a deadline, it was just easier that way. Besides now a days (when I have time) I learn whatever song fits my fancy.

@xxhelendeexx I know :P I just think it should have it written down. When I play it properly I do not slow it down, but I think.. well in my opinion it should be slowed so thats how i play it. I sometimes change around where I crescendo and Decrescendo on some pieces as well just becuase I feel it flows better. However I do keep in mind the way it was intended to be played and try and follow that.

Yes, there are elements that you could refine, and yes, I could point them out. Does that do anything for your drive to continue playing or push you to excel? No. Correction is at the educated teacher's discretion, not the audience.

That's the way i use to play it. Others want to show how they are strong on piano, but this song needs musicality, and this tempo is the good one to demonstrate how lovely this song is.. and the end is perfect too. So thank you for this moment of pleasure.

This song needs musicality? This song is practically just an exercise piece. It's extremely short and meant to be played very fast. Not really one of those touchy feely things. And this rendition is played at about tempo anyway.
