  • Thank god... i found a perfect 5 minute video to watch after i've only been studying for 15 minutes.

  • I wish I could remember all these methods

  • Do you have any method for memorizing songs, or acting scripts ?

I am a singer and actor. I constantly need to memorize new songs and scripts ; However, It is very hard for me to do it quick. It takes lot of repetition, and time for me to memorize a song.. All the memory methods only teach how to memorize lists, and numbers. I dont need that... I need a method to memorize paragraphs of text.

What do you recommend about that?

Like song lyrics, and acting scripts.

  • @Iloverrb Please slow up! Stress can cause memory problems in Natural Memory. If you slow up you may find yourself remembering more!! Jon Keith, The Memory Trainer

  • @Iloverrb try counting to ten slowly backward in your head wjile trying to remeber where it is it helps me

  • Thanks for the tutorial on how to remember things better. People might think that it is annoying to constantly be forming associations, but they work! This is a great strategy and I wish that more people used it. Our company Brainscape helps people learn using flashcards. Check out our video and our site when you can!

  • I forget what popcorn stands for already...

  • great vid! So helpful!

  • 1939 - wasn't Neville Chamberlain or Poland's lucky number.

  • I am glad we were retold what popcorn stood for coz I got distracted and had to pause the video half way through and by the end i was like hmmm whaaaattt 0_o haha =]

  • I'm gonna need so much memory for 14 years of medical study

  • all i learned is that i need to buy some popcorn cause im starving maybe ill also get creative

  • Mr Keith , here is the thing! Your methods may be great but I have like 30 books on memory in my PC that I think are all the same methods you have. Is there anything revolutionary about your methods or are the same : loqi, link , and peg systems?Cause why would we invest time and money in something known for thousands of years now, since Ancient Greece! Harry Lorraine has a good book though on the matter , maybe that is a good point to start ...!

  • My book, Everyday Memory Builder has the same methods as others because they work. When my students can remember an entire audience by Name and Face without taking anything or their homework I said I have been successful. For methods to work they do not have to be new only taught correctly.

  • Hope I answered the question. Jon Keith

  • @memorytrainer You are very convincing but , I'm a little too far to attend your seminars !

  • @7Mefisto I am forming some training using Skype. Please keep in contact and watch for me on some National TV (doing the demonstrations using Trained Memory). Thanks!! Jon Keith

  • Kind of difficult to reprogram what you have learned for tens of years, to not have "those blinders" on

  • Yes I agree but if you want to improve you can at any age! Jon Keith

  • I am college student. Basically my life has very less predictable cycles. I eat, sleep and study without any schedule. My memory seems to be at an all time low. I can't remember exam material, dates, not even the names of people. I am very embarrassed and frustrated at times. Please help me out.

  • So study for ten minutes and then Breakdance? what if i cant breakdance?

  • Then Waltz.... Jon Keith

  • Hi...what if I want to tweet on twitter and thats what i think about insteadl

  • Then Tweet and move to Facebook! Jon Keith

  • hilarious guy

  • LOL i thought of the pyramids of Giza instead of the Eiffel Tower...but naturally Eiffel first for a mere second

  • Have you considered a career in Stand up?

  • nice tips

  • Awesome. Thanks :D

  • Marry me Jon Keith!

  • @EyeWearMySunglasses i can marry u if u say..............i will give more usefull tips for memory after marrige ..lol

  • You can't just say be positive or concentrate more. These are not very practical.

  • To let people know about the instant tips for memory improvement is practical in a 5 minute video. For over 30 years, these tips have helped people get started in helping their memories. If you need more you can go to a memory skill seminar and learn the detailed methods. Thanks! Jon Keith

  • Thank you Jon! Very useful tips!

  • THANKS A LOT SIR, it really helps even when I was just listening to it. Simple Techniques that can have a great impact. Stay Bless Sir.

  • I study for 15 mins and break for 5....hrs

  • This is great information, very simple, but yet very effective.

    Thanks!

  • Thank you!

  • Why don't you teach us something more serious than the popcorn method

  • The POPCORN Method is meant to be a quick way to get people to use Natural Methods of improving Natural Memory and remembering the rules. If you want something serious you could buy my book "Everyday Memory Builder" on Amazon.com and work with the Trained Memory Methods. The book is on sale now too!

  • The memory is not like a muscle . You can't improve it by studying longer or/and harder .

  • Dear 7Mefisto

I said this over 30 years ago. You can improve performance in Memory by using the trained memory techniques or my hints. Sounds like a muscle to me. This allows me to memorize a magazine in record time and remember an entire audience by name and face (my students do the same too). Remember, improve memory smarter not harder! Jon Keith

  • @memorytrainer

Well , I am a schizophrenic . My memory was never very good but it was above average. About 5 years ago it began to drift until 2 years ago when I started hearing voices and was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Since then I did nothing but study . Reading books and all sorts of notes was and is my priority , but I got very little success in improving my mental state so far . I recently started reading books on how to improve your memory .

  • Using Images to remember words is also a great idea.

  • i think hes wearing a wig

but good vid, keep it up!

  • very wonderfull way of memorizing what i HAVE RED THANKS

  • A good way to realise just how powerful visual memory is.

can you recite a chapter of a book? probably not.

take an FPS game you play, can you give the layout of a map in great detail? You probably can. The game has way more detail in it than a chapter of a book, yet its easy to memorise without even trying.

  • Thanks for your comments. I have memorized an entire magazine in one hour on Regis's National TV program so I think I can recite a chapter or get very close to it. Watch for more of my YouTube Videos very soon and watch for me on National TV.

    Jon Keith

  • thanks

  • he talks like frank scoblete!! heh hehe

  • I am 12 will this work for me :) ? x

  • Yes. It will work for all ages.

  • @3600shar LOL

  • Good video.

  • Thank you, seriously. I like the popcorn technique but what REALLY tripped me out was the 15-5 method! I'm always so hard on myself when studying but this technique will prove king.

  • I prefer the R.E.D.E.N.B.A.C.H.E.R. method. Jon Keith's book "Everyday Memory Builder" on the shelf behind you is a good book.

  • Thank you for noticing my book!

  • impooortant

  • can someone please explain to me- why is it, that i and most english speakers can recite the alphabet letter for letter?

  • what was the first P?

  • positive attitude

  • On Schools. I always thought schools taught you everything you needed to know EXCEPT how to learn, study, absorb and remember the material they teach you. If they did they sure barely touched upon it and that is a big drawback of the system because it would probably be the most important thing you would learn coming out of school.

  • that's pretty interesting. i tend to use this method when studying for "easy" classes and it does work. I'm not so sure about the more complex stuff though.

  • he is so right. i use to do some of thows stof, but not all and not in that order, and i usualy forgat abaut the organizatino, so... my remembering skils are a mess :)

  • sorry this dont work for me. if i walk into the room with this man in it i wont be able to watch all around me. i be staring at the wig on his head.

his hair is fake right? shit i cant remember what he said.

  • i do the exact opposite of all these tips. i have a hecka great memory.

  • this is boring....but at the same time interesting

    like a dead baby 0_o

  • Haha. Well said.

  • I was expecting you to say "The Game." @ the Eiffel Tower part.

  • this isnt where i parked my car! :(

  • 1939 is 10 years after 1929 where da depression started. LOL

  • Quick everyone....using the letter "o" in popcorn for observation....what is the title of the yellow book on the bookshelf to the right of the speakers head??? LOL!

  • lol

  • gr8 job,,,,,,thx 4 a aeroplane full of blessings

  • "Hungry for a Movie" harhar!!! OMG!!! -_-. hehe.

  • That is why I came up with the POPCORN hints for memory. I was hungry for a movie about 30 years ago! - Jon Keith

  • are you really serious about this memory stuff?

  • nice job. i got good picture memory but its hard for me to just see words and memorize it. I hope this helps me for my exams.

  • thanks very much sir!

  • thank you very much sir, for sharing your techinique godbless

  • Excellent!

  • Thank you very much!

  • I think he means 50 mins.

  • 15-5, Thanks! Jon Keith

  • its 15

  • was that fifteen min or fifty min?

  • Very good job. Although many like to think of it as pure learning, secondary prep-school requires a great deal of cumulative memorization.

Thank you very much for these tips.

Spread the word to all secondary school students!

  • the visual memory part helped. thx

  • If you were my teacher I could ace any test..

    Thank you

  • I have been doing this for so long. Even i got very good marks by making "formula" i.e. to pick the 1st suffix of heading and make it a unique but interesting word.

you can shuffle the words in order to make it interesting.

  • is that a new jersey accent?

  • It is a Manhattan, New York for 32 years, Belmar, New Jersey for 12 years and an Ormond Beach, Florida for another 12 years accent.

  • oh well, I wish I knew this before, I could've memorized all the formulas for my math test, darn!

    I could've gotten an A instead of B!

  • what did he said , was that 15 mins or 50 mins ?

  • Luv ur video, hate the hair cut

  • lol i went to study and forgot everything u said

  • very nice! can you send me a free book?.....

  • thanks jon for these tips, they are very useful for my exams thanks to u i got a high mark!

  • Watch for more videos soon! Thank you!

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmm popcorn.... yumy :D i like this method; also use number asociation, it helps a lot

  • He made me think of the Eiffel Tower. Get out of my head! Get out of my Head!!! LOL I'm just kidding. I actually think that what he is saying is viable and important. I also like the acronym POPCORN :)

  • yeah 747!

  • Many thanks professor!

  • Thanks for the awsome video! I saw your reply to RamzGT and i just want to ask that what should I do to have the 10 min break and not be distracted in that 10 min? I know from experience that no matter how long or short my study hours are, i CANNOT interrupt my study even for a minute or i might end up doing something else -_-; (i know that the obvious answer is 'self control'...but there's gotta be more to it!)

  • Dear kiwi8; I hope you received my reply to your question from about a week ago. If not, let me know!

    Thanks! Jon

  • I've trained my concentration very well - I can study for 6 hours or more before having to sleep, but having to do the 15-5 thing would just interrupt my progress - is it possible to do a slower method (less break)?

  • It is in my experience, the student must pace their memory (that is rest) in their study sessions. You may have to customize the 15-5 to your study habits. Maybe have a break every 30 minutes for 10 minutes? If you do that, you may see a better recall and a longer memory for your material. Thanks you for your comment. Jon Keith

  • Hey Jon, thanks for the comment back - your feedback is much appreciated. Yes - I am a student that requires a lot of studying (materials science engineering major), I think I will try a 10-15 min every 30 or 45 min (depending on how my concentration is). Thanks again!

  • very good

  • thanks alot for this video

  • A lot of valuable pointers for memory enhancement in a very short span of time. Thank you!
