@1x93cm I don't know where you live, but I've driven through endless miles of the western US, and there's mind boggling amounts of untouched, or nearly untouched land out here.

@032125 you're right however most of it is either BLM land or ranch land- most of it is unsuitable to live on just because of the lack of water access

Do you honestly think that pioneers looked at the land and said - oh no it is unsuitable to live on --- no they went in, created a livable space and moved forward. We have 360 acres of range land, out in the middle of nowhere, we sunk a well, and put up a solar system -- it can be done, when all hell breaks loose, and mark my words it is going to - you are going to look at land totally different. Be prepared or get sized for a body bag.

I'm probably going to get a small trailer out in the boonies somewhere, and run its electricity off of wind generators and solar panels, with a bank of batteries and a biomass-run sterling engine as backup.

The trailer would be sufficiently small that electricity could be used for heating, and enough spare electricity would be generated to charge an electric car.
