I don't even think Beyonce is a phenomenon...she is just a superstar who can sing really well and dance. She works hard, she has a great support system. In addition, Beyonce doesn't have the same emotional effect on the world that MJ did.....people were IN LOVE with MJ, people just LOVE Beyonce. Beyonce hasn't done anything to "set the world on fire" with her music or talent. She is just a really good entertainer who is successful and knows how to market herself really well.

Madonna is a better all round performer than Beyonce in several areas, she is actually a better dancer as she studied with Pearl Lang one of the greatest choreographers in contemporary dance. Madonna is also a better songwriter too.

Beyonce is never going to have "that thriller" album lets face it. She was good while she lasted but her songs arent even being played on the radio now. None of her albums were classics or had that effect on people to where they were still singing it years and years later. Just comparing Michaels rein in 10 years and Beyonces rein in 10 years. Michael had pandemonium and the biggest selling album of all time. Beyonce is fading and with 4 has declined in sales instead of increased.

Beyonce is not even in the same trajectory. If ANYONE alive right now is, I'd say it's Ne-Yo. He's taken the whole "gentleman swag" to another level and made it his own. Has remained relevant for a good period of time and his albums/videos are amazing. I can't think of one Beyonce song that's had that global effect like Heal The World, Triller, Billie Jean, Beat It.. She just hasn't had that BIG song. In terms of sales, yes. In terms of impact/influence, no. And I don't see her reaching that.

How has Beyonce been an innovator? She takes advantage of things already created and does them better. That is a great feature to have but she really hasn't created anything or popularized a whole genre like Michael has. I don't even think Beyonce is a phenomenon...she is just a superstar who can sing really well and dance. She works hard, she has a great support system. In addition, Beyonce doesn't have the same emotional effect on the world that MJ did.....people were IN LOVE with MJ, people just LOVE Beyonce. Madonna is a better all round performer than Beyonce in several areas, she is actually a better dancer as she studied with Pearl Lang one of the greatest choreographers in contemporary dance. Madonna is also a better songwriter too.

Beyonce is never going to have "that thriller" album lets face it. She was good while she lasted but her songs arent even being played on the radio now. None of her albums were classics or had that effect on people to where they were still singing it years and years later. Just comparing Michaels rein in 10 years and Beyonces rein in 10 years. Michael had pandemonium and the biggest selling album of all time. Beyonce is fading and with 4 has declined in sales instead of increased.

Beyonce is not even in the same trajectory. If ANYONE alive right now is, I'd say it's Ne-Yo. He's taken the whole "gentleman swag" to another level and made it his own. Has remained relevant for a good period of time and his albums/videos are amazing. I can't think of one Beyonce song that's had that global effect like Heal The World, Triller, Billie Jean, Beat It.. She just hasn't had that BIG song. In terms of sales, yes. In terms of impact/influence, no. And I don't see her reaching that.

@MrBkofi I think Beyonce has reached a level of success that people don't really care anymore if she copies someone else---the music today sucks and the people who listen to it and call it "gold" just don't know what great music is. Bey is great stage performer and a good singer---and her acting has even improved, but that's where the buck stops. She isn't creative, she copies far too much, BUT do you blame her? She has to present her dance moves and videos in some decent fashion.

@MrBkofi And you didn't hear stories about MJ being taken to court for stealing.....he was hardly inspired to the point of taking the dance moves or concepts of other artist and making it his own. Bey gets away with this sort of stuff b/c she is a huge superstar who brings in the rating and she can sing and dance---so that sort of stuff is overlooked, but not so much when she wasn't known to the world. If beyonce were to be like Mike, she would need to stop making movies because acting is not her strong point. People will see a beyonce movie because shes beyonce. Not because her acting performance calls you there. I'd rather see her perform in a show then perform in a movie ANY day. Michael was a master of many arts. He only did what he excelled at. If he kept trying to go Opera, Im sure people would STILL buy it just because it was Michael. Not because they like his opera music.

How has Beyonce been an innovator? She takes advantage of things already created and does them better. That is a great feature to have but she really hasn't created anything or popularized a whole genre like Michael has. She's great, but her music doesn't even touch as many people of different racial demographics.

Also the Jackson family already has touted who the next was to be, Michael himself even said it, Chris Brown is the only person with the work ethic and ability in their eyes and in Michaels that was close to accomplishing it and he's still just 21. Michael even wanted to meet him on the day he died, who knows what they were going to create.
