Very good description. I was thinking Lankhoss was either jumping the gun(getting the hit) or spinning. He should be running a better tire. S/C C5Z in my video hooks in first with stock size BFG DR's.
Actually MAJIDNAEEM the 02 Z06 has the weight advantage by about 50 lbs. And the rest is irrelevant when the 02 Z has 100+ hp advantage at the wheels. That's 150 hp advantage at the crank! If the 02 Z couldn't get traction is the only thing saving the C6 Z from being walked on just like the 2nd race every time. It doesn't stand a chance! the things you mention would play a bigger role if they were more evenly matched cars. Even if the C6 had 4:56 gears he would have got walked after 120
Thanks man - I try to make them as factually accurate and informational as possible. I can't stand vague videos of two cars racing and you have no information about either of them.
The Lingenfelter was really babying it in 3rd, didn't really get into it until 4th - that makes a massive difference. The Lingenfelter no doubt has a stronger top end than the C6 Z.
THE C6 Z06 (LS7) WHOOPED THE LINGENFELTER.....its not just about power. 610 rwhp is useless...its how much you make in your band , how much low end punch you have, whats your gearing, whats the weight of the car...all these things go to the new z06 c6 LS7....
Trust me, the Lingenfelter is a faster car. He just spun like crazy and we never got a good run. I raced this guy at the drag strip several times, and he consistantly trapped 2 - 4 mph faster than me.
Yeah, the Andy (driver of the Lingenfelter) said that the car had been 10.48 @ 134 MPH with the power he was running in this video. He was not driving it to its potential.
Yeah they are matched in power from a rolling start. Off the line maybe the C6 would have the advantage because its 0-60 is 3.7. I dont know though the 03 looks like the hp put out is across the band. I wonder what the 0-60 is and what his 1/4 mile is too.
beatiful cars, very well matched. My uncle has a 2003 stage 2 MTI Z06 that is probably similar im performance capabilities to these Z06's. I have driven it, and it was the most insanely fast car i have and probably ever will. good vid
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I hate chevy all vinaland plastic. 60 years old soch engine, but its good that they change the paint on the valve cover ones in a while to make the shit look modern, I like green too, they had red, black and now on the new suptop one that painted blue, just adding up litter after litter to this junk hope for the best. now you can start going with the fifth gear isnt so fun, if you are a boat owner this is a great puller
ekbatand nothing in your comment was even close to correct. The current LS series engines share nothing in common with the Gen I Small blocks other than the number of cylinders lmao. It's not a sohc. The LS1 was a leap in technology and still continues to be the engine to beat for cost/horsepower and reliability. The LS6 is a slightly larger improved version. Now we have the LS7 which is just a beast, and the LS3 which is another advance over the LS2. The LS9 for the ZR1 is retarded fast...
My buddy has an LS1 camaro SS 35t anniversary that makes 502 rwhp and 455rw torque, Naturally aspirated, on 93 octane (octane boost helps lol) Head and cam package, intake manifold, full exhaust with no cats! I know what you mean, the LS is one hell of a block! The same guy's dad has the C6 Z06 with about the same power, so between 2 "shitty" motors there is 1200 crank horse power with no boost! take that, ekbatand
Awesome vid! The two cars are VERY well matched, well, maybe an advantage to the C5 haha, but VERY good races nonetheless. And good music too! Finally, its not some uber watered down trance or some crappy hip hop.
Yeah, they defiantely come reasonable used. About six months ago a used car dealer had a 2006 C6 Z06 with under 8,000 miles on it for $32,000. I just about shit myself when I saw that add. Not bad for something that competes with Ferraris.
for real man.. i work at a lexus dealership in newport beach Ca.. corvettes get traded in very frequintly.... First thing i would upgrade is the suspension and the brakes. The cadi xlr and the corvette are basically the same car.
the c5 was made from 1997-2004 and was the body style of the first vette in this movie and the c6 was made from 2005- present and was the body style of the second vette. Also the high end model engine on the c5 was 400hp and the base engine on the c6 was 400hp.
C5 made 405 horse, and used a smaller enigne, I'm not quite sure of the exact displacement. the C6 uses an all aluminum 7.0 (427 cu. in. small block), making 505 hp.
A car with a supercharge engine will never beat a natgurally aspirated vehicle, with only 100 more horsepower, not only is the zo6 lighter, but the LS7 engine probably has a better mid and top end, while the ligenfelter should do well off the line, go to lings website, and check for yourself, the z06 is just far superior 346lbs lighter, better trans, and better engine....simple as that
No kidding... I'm to the point where I TRY not read any comments to videos because most all the comments are a bunch of BS about how some other car is cooler, has more HP, isn't a (insert any brand here) piece of crap, etc., etc., etc. "I have a buddy that would kick your ass in a street race," is also quite popular.
My God, you're brilliant. You are right, there is NO POSSIBLE WAY an LPE car could not have badges all over. And it's also completely impossible that if it did have those badges, someone could remove it. God, I'm so retarded...thanks for the help.
First off this car may have Lingenfelter performance parts on it but it is not a true stage 2 Lingenfelter Z06. If so please show doc. on car or Lingenfelter paper work on car.
Yes, you would know for sure that it's not a "true" Lingenfelter car. Thankyou for clearing that up for all of us, from the intArwebZ. It most certainly is a Stage II TT LPE car, but he wasn't WOT because of traction.
The car you claim that is a Lingenfelter does not wear the badges of a Lingenfelter. All LPE built cars wear those badges. This is just an add on car.
Your a moron, Lingfenfelter just puts "Lingenfelter" on the side of it's cars or "Lingenfelter 427 CID Twin Turbo". When I say Lingenfelter built it does not mean you bought a package and had it puy on. It means the car was bought by Lingenfelter and built and sold by Lingenfelter. Same as a Steeda, Roush or Saleen. Those companies will bolt on a package but the the car is still a stock car with a bolt on package. It must be reworked with the full works to earn there name.
Go to LPE website. This car is supposed to be the 600hp-530rwhp LPE Vette. It does not wear the Custom molded silicone air ducts included in the $24000.00 LINGENFELTER GEN-1 600 TWIN TURBO CORVETTE
LS1, ZO6 1997 - 2004 package. This car is not a LPE car that's all I'm saying.
It is an LPE. Their packages and their options have changed a bit over the years. They are highly customizable, just because this Vette doesn't have what you think it should have from LPE does not mean it is not an LPE car - it is.
LPE cars are done in-house and YES some have changed some. BUT this package has not changed. This car if anything is a Ling bolt-on job i.e. they bought the parts and had them installed.
I don't think you understand how much the race is affected by one car not going WOT in one gear and/or letting one get the jump. My bad, the 2002 Lingenfelter 427TT puts down 780BHP/ 686 RWHP and turns a 9.93 @ 141. The time you gave for the car proves my point. An all motor 99' Vette running a 402 LS2 put down a 10:51 @ 128.98 on 92 octane. Your numbers, 10.34 @ 138mph puts the car @ 668 hp at the flywheel and 571RWHP. If this car had 648 RWHP the ¼ ET would be around 9.91 not 10.34. The only way a 3200 lb car with 648 RWHP turns a 10.34 is with 4 grown men with a case of beer each sitting in it.
Also I did the math. This car (2002 Vette) at 614 RWHP would have about 700 BHP, NOT!!! The car in question in no way a puts down those numbers. That's geting close to 427TT Ling @ 725 BHP @ 638 RWHP. These guys are kooks and you fell for it.
You do know that the Lingenfelter 427TT package traps ~150-152 MPH in the 1/4. That is MUCH more than 725 BHP, that's more around ~850-900 RWHP. Lingenfelter grossly underrates their packages. This car did put down 614 RWHP @ 10.5 PSI and 648 RWHP @ 12.5 PSI on race gas. It's best ET/MPH is a 10.34 @ 138 MPH on the 648 RWHP tune with the previous owner.

This car did put down 614 RWHP @ 10.5 PSI and 648 RWHP @ 12.5 PSI on race gas. It's best ET/MPH is a 10.34 @ 138 MPH on the 648 RWHP tune with the previous owner.
