You know, fear is used by politicians around the world since the dawn of time: it's true in the Middle East (on both sides), as well as here in Quebec where I live (separatists tell us that if we don't separate, we'll lose our identity!). Instead of rolling up their sleaves and doing actual work (you know, building things??), lazy politicians try to get your allegiance by telling you that only they can defend you against some boogey man they made up.
Wonderful! I couldn't help but laugh at our silly Republican friends there at the end... It's sad how America has been misled by the rampaging christian citizens. Thanks Desmond.
Love,
Topaz (90% Democrat, the other 10% is in my jacket... loaded, got to be ready for those evil terrorists... or christian right.)
There is NOTHING funny (or montage- creative) about what happened that horrible day. How could u be so heartless and insulting in mocking so many innocents that lost their lives and their families whose lives had been changed forever. I prey that you nor any family member of yours will never experience such a horrid death!
I appreciate your comments and I agree with your sentiments: This is not funny, nor was it ever intended to be. It does not mock what happened to any of the slaughtered innocents. All of our lives were changed forever. I'm sorry that this did not resonate with you as it was intended.
The anger I'm expressing in this video was meant for the criminals who created the terror and politicians who used the terror for their own goals.
As for the victims of the terror, I'm truly sorry for our loss.
I avoided using any footage from the conflicts in the east because this is a story about the west, and starts with that horrible crime perpetrated here in America which none of us will ever forget.
And I imagined that someday our decedents may look back at this period and try to explain what happened between the two worlds, east and west.
Perhaps their tale will start, "Once upon a time in the west..."
is this promoting the ideas set out by the rnc? id like to think not but you foreground the absurdity of their speech with footage of 9/11...that is a pitfall of found footage
i really like how you used morricone for the music, ive never actually seen anyone apply elements from the mythic west to the current regime's 'mythic west'
Thank you. The narrative is supposed to seem absurd and confusing - like the events themselves - and I tried to leave the point of view somewhat open for interpretation. As we all know, the last chapter on this issue has yet to be written.
Why are you going after whats good in america. These are good people who neaver intended to go after Saddam Hussein. These people believe in God. Saddam Hussein had weapons but he got ride of them. Also offer him the chance of no war.
Sergio Leone is a genius to make the real Once Upon A Time In The West.

Now how is a western movie theme (Once upon a time in the west) exactly appropriate for this video?! Explain please!

What music could describe this time better?

In case anyone noticed, yesterday Bushman started up the same scare chant again, this time it's Iran and a nuclear weapon.

What would Michael Moore say to all this?
What would the Pope say to all this?
What would the Dalai Lama say to all this?
What would Siddharta Gautama say to all this?
What would the Prophet Muhammad say to all this?
What would Jesus Christ say to all this?
What would YOU say to all this?

That was incredibly stupid and annoying. terroriststerroriststerroriststerrorism...
Why not just play Morricone's music alone with footage of stuff related to 911? that wouldve meant more.

Terrorists killing Americans? Americans killing civilians? Last one is more correct.

Of course they are talking about 9/11 and Iraq. Those two issues were the most significant by far in the 2004 election.
waltereg0 5 years ago
Maybe - but why don't they focus more on their own country?
The Iraq war was a big issue in our last election (UK) but people still want more focus on internal country matters.
moUK786 4 years ago
I agree. Unfortunately Iraq and 9/11 were unrelated. It's too bad that distinction was never made.
