3. I stole everything from the thieves guild (yes i even stole from vex, the best thief in the game).

I pickpocketed their keys to their stores and homes and at night (or day depending on whether I want to steal from a home or store), I use the key to get in to the building and take what I want. And sometimes I sell it back for money :D. But it is pretty risky. Soo worth it though if you ask me.

Level up on the initial story and spend first point on pickpocketing, keep quicksaving and leveling up pickpocketing (you can always go to a pickpocket trainer, pay for levels, then steal it back). Get 100 pickpocket and max perks (keymaster and poisoner optional). Get 100 speech by talking to the elf at BlackBriar meadery in Riften over and over. And max all perks except intimidation. Spend remaining points in sneak. Thats how i made a great thief for stealing.

A trick I discovered is that if you are in a room with a door and there are people on the other side of it you can close the door to the room and steal stuff without being noticed at all, provided that you are the only one in the room at the time

@TheFinal724 I think it was the blade's sword and you get it at the armory at the blades' temply place in their armory, i think the armory straight forward from where you go in, and you can only get it after they set up shop there, not when you first go in.

take the basket, go to any store you want in the game, drop it, put it over the shopkeeper its head and you can steal anything from any shop you want.. easy

A better method: Move the item you want to steal to a secluded corner, crouch and wait for undetected, and then take it.

Tip - you can MOVE objects without getting in trouble. When out of sight grab it fast or else they will come in and see you.

@Cmorris550 you can, just have to have the perk and you have to invest in the shop. Only fences in guild buy stolen stuff without. Or there is a person in the ragged flagon that fences stuff without being in guild but members get better prices.

It also works if you move the item you want to steal (moving it the same way he moved the basket) into a secluded room where you're not in their view. Once they can't see you, you can put it down and steal it.

or just pick up the items like you do with the baskets and take them to someplace where no one can see you and then just steal it like you normally would. another thing you can do is enter a shop and use "wait" (by clicking T on PC) and set it to wait so when you stop waiting is past midnight, they'll go to bed and you can steal anything while they're asleep
