  • A bit bumpy for high-tech cars, isn't it?

  • the podcar seems to be too noisy?

  • So cool

  • I live and work at Masdar Institute. I use these PRTs every morning.

  • @bambarus Aren't they still hasn't get their own extension line yet? What I head from the news that Masdar cancel this futuristic project.

  • @Chris58851 no they didnt i was there a month ago....

  • Reminds me of the transport system in Minority Report

  • @K1773R i bet they'll have pre crime too

  • Dubai has a fantastic driverless Metro system but I think we have to recognise the difference between a driverless train and this new concept of "Personal Rapid Transit" which, as far as I'm aware, Abu Dhabi's Masdar City may be the first major implementation. It's not just an evolution of a computer controlled train, its a revolution in the way people make make use of transport. I just hope it's integrated with a wider transport system outside of Masdar.

  • They need this in airports

  • @hustletv The Heathrow International Airport in London will be the world's first airport to use this PRT system. They're building it right now.

  • A woman is a project manager in United Arab Emirates? Do the Arabs know about that?

  • @CROPECKdotCOM The UAE is, perhaps surprisingly, pretty progressive in promoting women. As an example just look at Sheikha Lubna al-Qasimi, a prominent and successful minister in the UAE Government. Seeing a female project manager here is absolutely commonplace.

  • @CROPECKdotCOM sorry what is the problem about that?

and by the way she is lebanese from her accent

  • @seifeldin76 she's Syrian actually.

I would know, she's my mom.

  • Cool concept. I wish the US would do this instead of light rail

  • ale trzepie

  • nothing impressive, they got driver less trains in china

  • @CaptainUkraine Yeah, my place has subways too -_-

  • Magnets! How do they work?

  • hmmmm nice...But Opportunity lost? I am lamenting the impact of the GFC on infrastructure projects in some countries, bean counters trying to make back the money they lost.

And now those damn protesters in gulf states trying to gain some 'rights', how dare they upset the apple cart (lols).....
