They're not very common where I am, so I can't really be a GT-R hugger. And it wouldn't just destroy the ZR1 0-60. Even though the GT-R weighs 400 pounds more, the stock GT-R has around 1.12 G on the skidpad. A stock ZR1 has about 1.06 G. Personally I'm an evo person. They're perfect for me, and where I live (never ideal conditions...)

@babyz3us The base evo is 34K, the base GT-R is 80K. I would rather put 46K (You only need 21K to give an evo a complete and reliable 900HP, 750ish AWHP, remake. Look up the Evolution X 900X package by AMS Performance). Then save the other 25K for whatever else you'd like. And if you're lazy, you can get AMS to install the package for you for a bit more. Even then you would have 23 to 20K left over. (:

The components that aren't upgraded can easily handle the power, AMS isn't a company that skimps. The GT-R is an amazing car in its own right, it's undeniably a super-car, but there's a reason its sales have been lackluster. The evo is for rallying, that's where it started. Its purpose is completely different than the GT-R. They both complete their purposes well

The GT-R motor is actually not basic. Its not the VQ series engine that Nissan employs in most of there cars. Its a 3.8 liter HANDBUILT motor, that right now only 8 people in the world can put togther. READ... do some homework before you make statements that arent true. HRG86 The only problem(s) with the Z06 is that it wont keep up after 50 laps around a nice twisty track, not just because of the handling, but also because it's a chevy and they don't really do to well when you run them all out for lap after lap.
Imagine that car with a new exhaust, ecu reflash, and a boost controller! HOLY $***!!!! But really the Z06 is a good car but since the GTR and Z06 basically will cost the same, I would have to go with the car with AWD and twin turbos. Just saying.

I admit German engineering usually quality performance and prestige, but this GT-R is the real deal! Even for only it's performance, it's worth it (0-60 mph in less than 4secs=supercar, 193 mph stock!!!), it's well crafted and designed, and smokes some ferraris (360...)

no theyre not, car makers r just going to have to develop different technologies so they can make quick cars and meet mpg regulations. there is a prototype 700hp, 200+mph diesel sports car that can also get 60+mpg by messing with the turbos at the flick of a switch.

The GT-R motor is actually not basic. Its not the VQ series engine that Nissan employs in most of there cars. Its a 3.8 liter HANDBUILT motor, that right now only 8 people in the world can put togther. READ... do some homework before you make statements that arent true. the sad thing is though is that it is still a piece of shit. it shuts off at 112 mph on normal roads. jeremy clarkson even said that it shuts off at 112 and he was driving it. the only time you can go full speed with it is at a race track. the gtr is filled with computers and computers are just more shit to go wrong with the car. and if you modify the car, or take the limiter out, it voids the warranty.

thats wrong. im guessing they didnt run a realistic pass. in japan they ran a tabless intercooler run which has the most realistic potential and it hit a bit over 483ps at the wheels. thats close to over 600bhp but im guessing the tabs make all the difference. nissan advertised the car for whp like all cars should be and 473 is pretty accurate so they didnt lie

HRG86 The only problem(s) with the Z06 is that it wont keep up after 50 laps around a nice twisty track, not just because of the handling, but also because it's a chevy and they don't really do to well when you run them all out for lap after lap.

heavy are you retarded .. anyhthing that can do 0-60 in 3.5 sec with only 470 horsepower cannot be heavy.. the new zo6 does 0-60 in 3.7(gm specs) or 3.4 (car and driver specs) and has more horsepower and torque than the gtr so the corvette weighs 3132lbs and the gtr has to be lighter.. think before you post idiot.

Maybe you are forgetting that off the line the gt-r actually uses ALL of the wheels opposed to the z06 with only the rears spinning away wildly? if you are going to do any math do lbs/hp.o and keep in mind the gt-r has more than 480 hp.
