I don't think there is anything wrong with sampling. I'm glad that this track is getting exposure because people may try to find out where it originally came from. And in this case, it's from one of the greatest RPGs ever- Chrono Trigger. The only thing that kind of bugs me though is that Wiz isn't that great of a lyricist, and the lyrics for this song just are just generic, even by rap standard. Maybe if Nas or some other talented MC who could write great lyrics had sampled this... who knows...

The beat is dope dude. I played the original game a lot as a kid, and I'm happy that you didn't add a bunch of stuff over it or change it up into something corny. A lot of good samples get ruined like that. You took something good and made it sound real good! I heard it on the radio and it took me forever to find it. I like the instrumental better than when Wiz is rapping over it anyway.

@SledgrenProductions i would if any of those were a factor; two word: 'marketting' and 'publication', and last i checked, chrono trigger wasn't on MTV or radiostations, but on a 16 bit cartridge, and as much as people like some of those old songs, most are reluctant to try and push music onto others lest they already know someone likes it. that's as far as chrono's marketing goes. even if it was on MTV, it wouldn't reach those who would enjoy it because of MTV's demographic. 'just add a beat.'

I don't think there is anything wrong with sampling. I'm glad that this track is getting exposure because people may try to find out where it originally came from. And in this case, it's from one of the greatest RPGs ever- Chrono Trigger. The only thing that kind of bugs me though is that Wiz isn't that great of a lyricist, and the lyrics for this song just are just generic, even by rap standard. Maybe if Nas or some other talented MC who could write great lyrics had sampled this... who knows...

The beat is dope dude. I played the original game a lot as a kid, and I'm happy that you didn't add a bunch of stuff over it or change it up into something corny. A lot of good samples get ruined like that. You took something good and made it sound real good! I heard it on the radio and it took me forever to find it. @SledgrenProductions i would if any of those were a factor; two word: 'marketting' and 'publication', and last i checked, chrono trigger wasn't on MTV or radiostations, but on a 16 bit cartridge, and as much as people like some of those old songs, most are reluctant to try and push music onto others lest they already know someone likes it. that's as far as chrono's marketing goes. even if it was on MTV, it wouldn't reach those who would enjoy it because of MTV's demographic. 'just add a beat.'
