  • This is AWFUL! "The Information Superhighway" was a bad metaphor in 1995. It's a worse metaphor today. Animating it does not make it ANY better at all. Shit can whatever link sent you here, and try to forget any of it that you actually saw.

  • SEX.COM xD this movie make me want to f**k packets

  • imagine if it actually took this long to just send a message

  • video is for non commercial only.... ITS ON YOUTUBE for fksake

  • @ilyacibko same here :)

  • this is so sosososososoosos rubbish i got to watch this from a lesson,

  • CCNA training sent me here as well!

  • it is never interesting when it is part of a exam. what's the use of learning such ...arhhhhhhhhh, that you forget everything right after graduation. For Fuck Sake! I literally Puked on those non-sense.

  • I agree with RocketWolf. I guess it's an OK video to explain the internet to someone who is not tech-savvy and just wants a simple grasp of how the internet works. It is incredibly over-simplified and definitely NOT suitable for use in a networking class. That my CCNA Exploration book led me here does not inspire my confidence in Cisco.

  • @ilyacibko Mee too :D

This video is really interesting, it explain a really great process with such simplicity, really Cool :D

  • And just whats wrong with, sex, com?

  • @ilyacibko Remind me not to hire anyone with cisco certification then..

  • That router looks scary!

  • This video does a terrible job of explaining what really happens. It leaves out important details and the graphics misrepresent what goes on, even as an analogy. Strongly reccomend you do not even watch this worthless misinformation.

  • why is a college class making me watch this video which is obviously meant for elementary schools?

  • The best 13 minutes of my life.

  • This is an OK explanation. I'm afraid to say it's way too childish explained in my opinion....

Very linear and with no overview in the end.

  • My Mind has been Blown, I was told to write notes on this for my A-Level Computing :P

  • @karlking1995 Look its Karl!

  • All i learned is that Routers are careless bastards who have poor aim.

  • i almost feal sad for those packets :(...soo much danger just to do OTHERS will...oh well...thats how humans are...careless ^^

  • @jamilnielsen I feel bad for them, too. The packets look like little bugs!

  • watch this video with bahasa indonesia hard-sub and arabic, chinese, english, spanish, indonesian, and russian soft-subtitle here: watch?v=SasfRRr5xdA

  • This would be interesting and informative if the music didn't drown out the words.

  • well thats 13 min. ill never get back.

  • I awww'd at the end. C:

  • it has always been one of my favorites to have people watch who don't understand how it works

  • It's not just pretty decent:P, I remember I've seen this video on tv when I was 12 or so, and I was quite amazed by the graffic:D. It's a good explenation of what happens when you send data.

  • A bunch of Wall e's are running through my network? AWESOME!

  • Cisco CCNA Exploration course sent me here also

  • very interesting and understandable.

  • outdated a bit

  • Haha, that was a great video!

  • @ilyacibko Same here :<<

  • @messedupvid99 me too!! HAHAA Netscape Navigator!!!

  • @Meibsjr81 Bwahaha, does Netscape still have a browser?

I haven't heard from them or AOL, they both died out I assume?

  • @messedupvid99 Time Warner bought AOL years ago...Netscape died while ago

  • @Meibsjr81 Ahh yes, that's what happened to AOL. Never payed much attention to Netscape though, family had AOL.... and it was shit.

  • @messedupvid99 yup...although i had to use AOL until like 2005, when our area finally got DSL lol

  • @Meibsjr81 Interesting...

  • Remind me of StarFox 64. lol

  • @ilyacibko Yeah, we watched it in the first couple of weeks :-).

  • wat

  • Awesome video it was..Representing UWS.

  • Here from the CEH videos.

  • This is so epic and informative. The Router and Router Switch reminds me of the personality cores from the Portal series =]

  • "Apple Talk packets - they're going against traffic, as usual" lol

  • video of the year

  • Big thx 2 u

  • Thumbs up if you came here from Open Uni's T175 Module.

  • NICE I LIKE.

  • Very good but at 7:10 when he talks about Mr. IP not receiving the acknowledgment of the packet...well it doesn't really work that way. It's actually layer above IP - the TCP is concerned about receiving the acknowledgment and resending packets. After all, it is TCP's job to assign packets to correct sessions/processes

  • Great for beginning students.

  • this video is 10 years old and still gets hundreds of views each day.

  • @Bhousm76 wtf is this!!!!!!!

  • @kennedyfortissimo

this...is...THE INTERNET. Right now your computer is sending these packets out!
