Let me clear all dis up. Da Basement was set up by DeVante and the group consisted of Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Ginuwine, Tweet and Playa. It is definitely a Timbo beat but he got no credit. Vocals are by all of them at some point.
They all left soon after coz they weren't gettin paid. That's why Timbo's first album is called Tim's Bio Life From Da Basement.

A friend of mine gave me a tape of this (the nutty professor soundtrack) about four years ago and I've almost worn it out, cuz this is my favorite album! There are so many great songs on it! There's this one, Az Yet, there's one by Monica & Treach... much more, I just can't think of them right now cuz I haven't listened to it forever for fear of snapping the tape!

DeVante sang the second verse on this. He also sang the hook on Jodeci's "Let's Do It All" and "Pump It Back". Listen to those and you can tell its his voice, just layered. This song, along with Tupac's "No More Pain" is what caused Timbaland to leave Da Bassment. He realized he'd developed a sound and believed DeVante was trying to steal it.
