Jared Carpenter's story doesn't seem very convincing to me. He and his wife came from a wealthy background, yet when they were struggling so hard to survive in Illinois, they never turned to their family who could help them? And rather than ask their family for help, the poverty stricken young couple decide to give up their firstborn child to the equally struggling Snyders??? Douglas Marland was THE greatest writer in soap history, but I think this story was one of his BIG writing blunders.
Thank you for uploading this! Lots of little scenes that I have never gotten to watch before, like Jared telling Iva about why he gave her away, and the first time Lien saw Adam. Were they planning to make her jealous of the baby, then dropped the story?
I had forgotten just how incredibly stupid Shannon and Duncan were in this story, especially Shannon.
I almost feel guilty for hating Elizabeth, but she's so easy to hate.

@CarlD2 It seems like they thought perhaps she would be jealous of Adam, considering she just connected with Tom. But obviously later she had no problem with Adam..babysitting him etc.
