Can this woman get any more extrodanary!? She is incredible! she is an actress, a singer, a writer, a dancer, a comendian and just an inspiration in general!!She is stunning, even at her age, she is kind hearted, she makes everyone smile! She makes all us other women jealous! She is just plaine amazing! Nobody can doubt it! <3
Once I left a comment with my former account name Operalover12002. I am amazed to see so many people have given approving comments to mine. As I wrote before
this number must have been written for Julie Andrews.
Thanks for posting this. It's one of my favorite songs. I wish I could find a version of Ms. Andrews' performance that included the prologue (I weave with brightly colored strings / To keep my mind off other things ...) or video of her actually performing the song.
Does anyone have, know where i can find one, or make a karaoke version of this song? I was going to sing this for a little production me and my friend are putting on. I just love this song!
I love this song, and Julie's voice is fantastic, but I prefer the version with Bernadette Peters. Something about the mix of scorn and sadness in her voice seems more appropriate to the song.
@wakemeup27 Couldn't disagree more. Bernadette's version is extremely gaudy and exaggerated. I talk frequently of how musicals more and more as the decades have gone by, have become more and more caricatures of the previous versions. They just don't know how to balance showmanship with real emotion anymore in my opinion. I think this is a HUGE reason a TON of people won't go anywhere near musicals. It's become so over the top that musicals are frequently flat out ridiculous.
@HereBeTygers Agreed. I mean, Bernadette is really great and emotion is good, but I felt like it was a little TOO exaggerated. It just looks fake in some parts. Julie's sounds so much more...genuine? Like shes really thinking about the time she fell in love.
can She get anymore Beautiful.......Love Her!!!!

As beautiful as Julie Andrews voice is, the 1997 version by Bernadette Peters is highly superior.

I love her voice, but she gives this song that happiness and beat of a dance to it. Prefer that scorn and sadness from Bernadette Peters.
