What RussiaToday never mentioned, and never will as Putin established it, is that Ukraine owns the gas, but the company is controlled by a Russian company. Russia takes the gas, forces Ukraine to sell it for cheap and then sells it back to them for a higher price. It is in no way Russian gas and Ukraine can do whatever they want with it.

In Lithuania Russia also created intermediate company to use it for bribing politicians. Russia is using gas to destroy democracy in young countries. Why Gazprom doesn't want to sell gas directly to Naftogaz? I think that Russia is playing game. This country want a new pipeline under Baltic Sea but doesn't have money to build it. Russia cut off gas to Ukraine (and as a consequence to Europe,since the gas tube goes through Ukraine) for our disagreement with DOUBLE raised charges for gas for Ukraine in 2009.
