  • Out of these the one I like is 5 characters in search of an exit, for sure

  • @mrMihajlo96 idk, but a good 1 is wen the woman bcomes a maniquin

and only gets to move, and live among regular ppl 1nce in every 17, or so months

  • I have many of these on DVD and I can tell you some you can watch over and over, others not so much. some of my favorites are 100 yards over the rim,Time enough at last, Frisbee,Last Flight,Man in the bottle...many of the endings are somewhat disappointing(like why couldnt the guy just find some more glasses,or Walter Bedecker lives forever but gets life in prison, why not escape he's indestructible?) but the acting and stories are great!

  • I never see Probe 7 over and out ever mentioned in these.

  • the like dislike bar....its...perfect balance...Yin and Yang. ive never seen such a beautiful thing...

  • Whats the music?and 2 serve man lol

  • My "qualified" list:

    1. Nightmare @ 20,000 ft (Shatner: Paranoia runs deep)

    2. Walking Distance (You can't go home again: Bernard Hermann score)

    3. Living Doll (I'm Talky Tina...and I'm going to kill you)

    4. Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up (Ain't nobody exonerated yet)

    5. Nick of Time (Make your own Destiny)

Qualification: I've removed great '1st viewing' episodes (serve man, 5 characters, eye of beholder, etc), because aside from the punchline, they're rather boring.

  • " In His Image " is one of my favorites.

  • They're all good, but you've got to have "The Howling Man" near the top of any list.

  • Am i the only one who loves the monsters are due on maple street

  • @ribinfo Nope! One of my faves as well! Classic Twilight Zone.

  • @ribinfo

    nope thats my second favorite

  • 1. twenty two

    2. to serve men

    3. eye of the beholder

    4. telephone

    5. the mask

  • you're missing "its a good life"

  • It is hard to pick the top 5 (especially number 5). A top easy would be easier...then again, there is a number #11 that we might like. If I had to choose a number 6 for this list, it might be 'The Obsolete Man'

  • my top 5:

    5. Time at last

    4. The masks

    3. Will The Real Martian Please Stand Up?

    2. To Serve Man

    1. Two

  • I'm NOT an Athiest & I don't Hate gays but if they want to lose 20 years off their life after damging thier colons, then all I can do is pray for them. If they ask for my approval then I'll be honest and tell them why. I have no desire to argue about it because I'm right. Enjoy youtube....

  • What about ''the after hours'' or ''living doll'' or ''the masks''?

  • wtf is the faggot start all about? that's not twilight zone, that's gayness. thumbs down.

  • @IIIIdepechemodeIIII and gayness is a bad thing because...?

  • @lookformeontv because this atheist thinks that if you take it up the anus with another man's penis, you have motherfucking ISSUES...THAT'S why it's 'a bad thing'. any questions?!?

  • How about the US Air Force flying saucer that lands in some giant ladies attic?

  • They rarely show the one hour episodes and none of them are on anybody's top ten list.

  • I would have included "The After Hours".

  • Can i ask why u used the undertaker's music?????

  • my fav is number 1!!!!!!! great list!

  • Best tv show ever !

  • I love the episode where the neo nazi is visited by hitler's ghost

  • that last one you should have showed the guy with 3 eyes. good choice I almost gave it thumbs down because of the intro.

  • I love lots of episodes.Don't get mad.I liked "To serve man but It would be in my 110 list. I'm just saying but your opinion is good too.

  • Eye of the beholder! Man That One is UhMazing, It's the best one!

  • Does anyone know what the music being played is?

  • Comment removed

  • the obsolete man is my favorite

  • Nightmare as a Child was dope.

  • NICE all good sloid picks , me 2 yup !!! awesome episodes indeed !!!

  • Comment removed

  • shame about the crap music

  • i've only seen 3 of those episodes. and those 3 are awesome. nightmare at 20,000 feet was awesome (william shatner. oh yeah). the eye of the beholder was great to. and so was how to serve man. but i mean heck, i like the twilight zone alot. i need to start watching that box set again.

  • 0:32 is the monster wearing a blazer?

  • NAILED IT

  • I kinda like your rankings, but you have the same favorite episodes as i do! cool!

  • Still trying to find the episode (it's not TZ) wherein a 12 or 13 year old boy is chronilogically 35 yro but still looks 12 or 13. "Walking Distance" + "Kick The Can" barely touch on it and are two v/g eps but they are not the real McCoy.

  • Maybe its a Bradbury story.

  • Would that you are right, light, but one thinks not. Oddly enough, the opening scene takes place at a "playground" where 3 guys in their 30s, in town for a reunion, see the kid they knew in the old days. Can't remember anything past that.

  • One of my very favourite episodes was "The Invaders", starring only, Agnes Moorehead. I did not sleep for weeks! I absolutely love this wonderful, scary show. Rod Serling was a true genius!

  • Nightmare at 20,000 feet, the first time I watched it made me look like this O_o lol. I was like, talking to the people in the movie saying, " Plz listen to him there is a grimlin on the wing of the plane!!" xD

  • Whats the music. It's cool.

  • eye of the beholder, thats my favorite

  • "Time Enough at Last" and the tow about Willoughby and Jess Bell, respectively, are my favorites. Also, the Christmas episodes were always pretty boss; they had happy, tear-jerking endings.

  • I forgot to add "I am the Night- Color Me Black" to the list. That's the episode that moved me most.

  • Phattie ringa da' true re "Willoughby" and bookreader Burgess Meredith. Also, "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street" starring the great Jack Weston rounds out the top 5 along with the 2 mentioned 6 days ago.

  • The most haunting episode might be "And when the sky was opened".. Damn , didn't know it was such a favorite on the TZ boards.. Watch it it's on here. But The Silence ending always makes me shit brix.

One of my favs is also hocus pocus and frisby :)

  • martian plz stand up lolz

  • will the real martiab plz stand up

  • may i have ur attention will the real plz stand up were gonna have a problem

  • i love will the real martian please stand up.....the ending was to twisted up

  • My favorite is The After Hours.

What song did you use? I quite like it.

  • my girl and i couldnt stop laughing at her reaction when she sees the lady as a mannequin.

  • Perchance to dream or the New exhibit

  • but then again all the Twilight zone episodes were good

  • Good choices on this list. You should have done your top 10, though.

  • Whoops, sorry. I just saw that you actually had made a top 10.

  • my favorite is the shadow man from the 80's twilight zones.

I wait for the shadow man to show up from under my bed. Then I will ask him if he likes mudkipz

  • one that should be on here is "the midnight Sun"

  • i also enjoyed dead mans shoes

  • i also like will the real martain please stand up

  • The Obsolete Man

    Gives me nightmares especially now.

  • I've always loved the "Thirty Fathom Grave". Spooky.

  • Will the real martian please stand up, please stand up, please stand up. Lol...

  • Shitty obvious list...Watch more.

  • will the real martian please stand is my favorite too great list.

  • I love the concept of "5 Characters in search of an exit" but I thought it was a bit boring in the middle because they are in that box for so long:(

  • 1. It's A Good Life

    2. In His Image

    3. The Howling Man

    4. The New Exhibit

    5. Jess-Belle

At least one hour-long episodes was listed as a favorite, On Thursday We Leave For Home - a classic.

The hour-long Zones don't get favorited much, being a mixed bag with some gems i.e. Miniature/Thirty Fathom Grave/Death Ship/Incredible World of Horace Ford.

BTW, fans of the Billy Mumy "Good Life" zone will enjoy "The Magic Shop" hour-long Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode, o.p. but not rare.

  • My favorite for over 30 years is the episode with Billy Mumy, (lost in space) "Your a bad man, a very bad man, I wish you away into the corn field."

  • cinerama62 & ilovetodefygravity: "It's A Good Life" was your favorite (tv or movie version), check out "The Magic Shop" (Alfred Hitchcock Hour episode, 1964) & these Night Gallery eps: "The Dark Boy" (a schoolteacher is visited by the ghost of a 4th grader). "The Boy Who Predicted Earthquakes" (+ the end of the world) "Brenda" (girl gets monster to punish her enemies) "Silent Snow, Secret Snow" (boy lives in a private reality) "Little Girl Lost" (mind control gone wrong)
  • Def the best TZ coutdown. Finally somebody got number 1 right! I couldn't agree more, but I always liked the one about the swimming pool leading to Aunt Tea's too!

  • What was the name of the episode when a little boy on his birthday went to a diner, and an old schoolteacher saved him from being beaten up, and the boy created his own cartoon life with random people pretending to be is parents? Thats my fave episode! :D

  • That's from the Twilight Zone movie, and it's an adaptation of It's A Good Life

  • It's very difficult to pick a favorite TZ! But one of my favorites is "The Martians are Due on Mapple Street".

  • If anyone remembers the Shadow Man episode, let me know. It's about shadow people of the paranormal.

  • i remember one about a shadow man and he lived under this kids bed. It came on chiller like last week or so.

  • I totally agree with your list!! The Twilight Zone is THE BEST show ever made, I could watch it ALL day!! I LOVE IT!!

  • COOKBOOK HAHHAHHHAHHAHHAAH

  • almost my choice!!!!!!! #2 my favorite-

    to serve man....It's a cookbook!!!!

  • #1 DEFINITELY A GOOD CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!! I was so stumped!!

  • For some reason, "The Lonely" has become my favorite Twilight Zone episode lately. I tend to like the ones filmed in the desert.

  • Orton at the beginnin' x3?

Anyway, yeah! I really liked Eye of the Beholder alot.. But I think my favorites would havta be Stop Over in a Quiet Town and The After Hours. Somethin' 'bout the creepiness of silence and dolls..

  • and if u guys want to see some of the remakes watch the twilight zone movie. it has nightmare at 20,000 feet

  • i love this show. in language arts i had to read the monsters are due on maple street and i was like screw this im watchin it.

  • They had us read "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street", in my fifth grade English class. Never got to see the episode until I was in Tenth Grade.

  • I love all these too! Especially "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up" and "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" - my two faves!

  • Will the Reall Martian Please Stand Up?

The Monsters are Due on Maple Street

    To Serve Man

    The Lonely

On Thursday, We Leave for Home

    The Hitchhiker

    Living Doll

    Little Girl Lost

    The Masks

    Time Enough at Last

  • We watched "Nightmare at 20,000 ft." in my Language Arts class. Everyone was cracking up because of the looks of the Goblin. Everyone kept saying it looked like a monkey. It was hilarious at the same time creepy.

  • To serve man and Eye of the beholder are awesome.

Best sentence - Its a cookbook.

  • The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street

  • lol the pic for number 3 reminds me of lon chaney in phantom

  • oh my god, nightmare at 20000 feet scared me to death! twenty two, eye of the beholder, time enough at last, and the monsters are do on maple street are my favs, oh and stopover in a quiet town and that one about the greedy people and the masks!

  • yes, twenty-two was one of my favs too! I read that was taken from an acutual account that happen...creepy.

  • great choices dude....however ive never seen"to serve man",can anyone give me a summary

  • Often considered the best T-Zone ever. Aliens land on Earth claiming their motives are altruistic and their aim is to bring peace and prosperity to mankind. One leaves behind a book with possible clues as to the veracity of such claims.

  • character in search of an exit is my all time fav. its pure genius! i loved the concept!!!

  • MY FAVOURITE IS "NIGHT OF THE MEEK"!

  • MY FAVOURITE IS "NIGHT OF THE MEEK"!

  • Thank you for taking the time to post these!

  • most of these have to do with aliens i noticed

  • wat about livin doll or the hitchhiker?

  • "the monsters r due on maple street" is a really great one

  • what's the episode where some man is imprisoned on another planet. he basically has his own house isolated on another planet. and the police go there and give him a robot wife?

  • sounds like "The Lonely"

  • it is. thanks!

  • I love your top 5 list. My two faves are "Will the Real Martian" and "5 Characters". Of course, there are so many brilliant episodes, it's tough to narrow them down to 5.

  • That is time enough at last with the lil feller that breaks his glasses and is filled with a world of books..sucks to be him LOL!

  • i always thought about that ep. wouldnt he be able to find another pair of galsseS? or ocnstruct a piar himself? or..forget about reading and find something else? lol...i guess he couldn't if he really was that big of a book reader

  • Yes, learn Braille or find another pair of cheaters by groping around... he's got blurred vision but isn't totally blind by a long shot!

So... while without question one of thee classic episodes, there just wasn't enough time for Rod Serling to avoid every possible plot hole.

Burgess Meredith was also excellent as Satan in "The Printer's Devil", an hour-long Zone not rerun as often as the regular eps.

  • whats the name of the episode with the guy at the end of the world and then he breaks his glasses?! please tell!!

  • "Time Enough At Last", starring Burgess Meredith. One of the most popular and well-known episodes of the series.

  • i think its calles "enough time at last"

  • how is "will the real martian please stand up?" the best? It was good but not the best episode

  • he's not saying its the best, he's saying its his favorite
