22 years ago there were an awful lot of tears floating around ...tears of disbelief...but the Strength of John's Spirit will never fade ...cos it's in a part of us all...Sooooooo Wack up the Volume of your amps and blast everyone outta their seats.Peace to ya all.
I just put it together ... my son Ray was born on May 29th..... Ray is also gone .... oh my ... prayers for everyone that was touched by John.... he is missed very much ...
Thank You...I knew John personally, my sister lived with John for 4 yrs and we all had some great times together!! John was a wonderful person as well as a great artist..We would sit around the house in Mill Valley and John was always playing around with his music. He is truly missed...
You are so lucky to have such amazing memories...only ever had the chance to see John 4 times here in the UK ...for me they are truly amazing memories .....
That's great you got to see him. Nothing like seeing him in Action Live. Who was he with when you saw him? I know he enjoyed going to UK to play. One of my fave UK bands The Yardbrids as I'm sure you know also did a Hot version of this as well. QMS (pre-dino's act) & The Yardbirds I always thought with both of them taking old classics like SmokeStack Lighting etc. & streching them out to Epic Jams were across the sea soul brothers. Thanks again- video & music Happy Trails Amigo!
Saw him with Man ,then he came over with Nick..just sooooo good.....even seen the Yardbirds..I was 8 when I saw the Yardbirds so have no idea which line up it was ....
That's geat you saw Him w/ Man. Classic Cip gigs. You saw a gooood one! They sure were a good fit. Man's style & sound was so SF. They were a Big Hit when they played here at Winterland w/ John. Bill Graham liked Man a lot too & he wasn't easy. YB's at 8..? Happy Trails
I saw John thirty times in the last year of his life . It ment everything to me. I was in Santa Cruz to see him and B Melton the night that he was too sick to make the gig. The recolection of the sticken Fish still hurts me to this day.

I had the pleasure of playing with John in the Copperhead period. Such a gifted musician and mellow human being.

I'm from SF Bay & got to watch him play for 23 years.
I was amazed by his playing from first time I saw him to the last.
I never thought of John as being "West Coast" sound.
To me he was Quintessential San Francisco sound.
Still gives me chills like I got at
The Fillmore & The Avalon.
As well as being a all-time great player also a real good guy.
Ciao Pison John!
That for posting this-Mucho.
