  • And Geddy looks like my cousin Jill.

  • Peart= The original "Mullet man" ha

  • RUSH ROCKS!!!!

  • Finally found this i was looking for it for so long....thanks for posting it :)

  • If I said it before, i'll say it again. Everyone should stop comparing Rush to "the Canadian Led Zeppelin". Rush clearly has a more flexible guitar/bass/drumming style, and tbh Geddy Lee and Robert Plant's voices sound nothing alike. I mean, He's got a great voice, and all, but he wishes Geddy Lee offered singing lessons.

  • Billy Corgan looks like this era Alex Lifeson a bit (if Billy had long hair)

  • neil is quite elvish. sex

  • his voice is like Plants/Gillians

  • They get more popular and wind up behind a drum fortress with it's own zip code.

  • Look at how small Neil's drums were back then!

  • Peartian mullett has aitherial power...

  • 1:55 Geddy does this quick expression like he's trying to remember the lyrics, perhaps. No disrespect intended. I'll have always have loads of respect for Rush.

  • is this in 4/4 time or 7/8

  • @cbarrett34 7/8 most part of the song (like intro)

  • epic track!!!

  • epic track!!!

  • Note: Neil is wearing a Cross (maybe a crucifix) and Geddy is wearing a Star of David.

  • Rush is an amazing band that dosen't have to make a 1 million dollar music video to hide the fact that they have no talent.

  • So it seems you don´t have to look cool, to play the best and loudest rockmusic

  • @Metaldude3815DB What? In the 70s this WAS cool. I love how Geddy assumes the "God of Bass Groove" stance at 2:38 while Alex is soloing.

  • 5 people got plowed over in rush hour, they all died.

  • Comment removed

  • The delivery and sheer power from 2:21 to 3:11 is simply mind blowing!

  • At 0:25 you can see that neil has a mullet

  • It must have been tough opening for KiSS, you lay down some hard riffs and then get smoked by 4 dudes getting more action than a mafia don blowing fire out of their asses

  • Comment removed

  • I've always thought this song really highlights Alex. Nice guitar work.

  • OMG I love those epic crash hits at 1:35

  • The lighting makes Neil look like a Ginge... hehe

  • Thumbs up if you were sent here by SirScoots :)

  • @twelfthdoc who's SirScoots?

  • Yeah, Sir Scoots. Rocking man!

  • I don't think Rush ever LOOKED this cool in their later career. The epitomize the best of the 1970s here. Naturally cool and musically BADASS.

  • BRILLIANT is all i can say for this!

  • Not to mention that the music follows a very linear progression while being very complex. It's hard to write something that's very progressive but easy to listen to.

    They were masters of that.

  • Selfishness is a virue~ Ayn Rand

  • @mikewibzeez Rock on dude. Henry Rearden couldn't have said it better ;-)

  • 3:10 Alex orgasm

  • I love this song...especially how the delay effect switches from the vocals, to the drums, to the guitar starting at 3:53

  • The castle, according to Alex, was part of a school play, and they thought "What the hell, let's film in front of it."

  • Neil you are the fucking best¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • 3 people dont respect a screaming jew and the 2 other guys :P jk

  • Are they in A CASTLE !!!! Geddy seems to have Horse's Hooves for feet.....

  • eso es todo carnalasos

  • killer riff!!

  • Best song ever in the entire Universe

  • Why are there no newer versions of this song on YouTube? It is the most Rush-like of all Rush songs to me. Maybe Jimmy Page's autistic-savant brother wrote it or something. (joke) Page agreed with Lifeson to keep silent about the matter.

  • how the fuck can they be so good

  • @MajkeTiTvoje Yeah and they were 20/21 years old when they wrote this. Its mindblowing how much talent they had at that age.

  • alex kicks ass on this song. Great guitarist and under-rated.

  • Neil Peart is the master of drums

  • birmingham tomorow, bring it on

  • Awesome song!, never gets old to me. I've listened to this song countless times, listening hard, trying learn it. It is dubbed. But I was thinking that since it's a commercial/promotional vid, maybe there is a law that states the recording has to be played in the commercial since that is what being advertised to sell.

  • does anyone else think that geddy sounds like joplin when he sceams?

  • @my1name2 Nope, he sounds like Geddy.

  • @1983Wrathchild Janis Joplin is a she

  • @jbassman666 I got a better idea. Fuck off.

  • WRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOUUUGHT!

  • the Bass is bad ass in this !

  • I'm a angered Chinamen and I approve of these talented Doctors.

  • this is a vastly underrated song by Rush. so kickass.

  • This is totally cool, BUT it is dubbed music not live. It may be the best "lip sync" job of all time!

  • @funbebop yep. that's the way rock videos were done in the 70s.

  • Awsome song! There new stuff just isn't as good.

  • I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT ! NEIL PEART

IS PLAYING HIS ORIGINAL " SLINGERLAND "

    DRUM SET !

  • They were greatest before electronic, seriously, they did have good electronic, but seriously JESUS CHRIST this is fucking amazing....computers got them in trouble in the 90s and they were pretty terrible.

  • @johnfreeman999 totally agree. gotta love analog.

  • Man....! Rush are just the BEST prog rock band ever and one of the best bands of any genre FULL STOP ! Just SOOooooo good !! Peace Ye`all !!

  • what a great band...

  • 3 persons shoul buy some new ears!

  • 1:37 made me smile too

  • i like the rickenbacker better more worth the money and sounds more deep then the jazz bass

  • rickenbacker 4001>jazzbass

  • not sure why all the comments saying "hey there are no mics" and "gee that sounds like the studio recording". YES it's the audio from the studio album. NO it's not recorded live. YES its awesome to see a video of rush from 1975. dam, calm down people

  • This is a Mime

  • Not my favorite band of all time, but it is hard to imagine a more talented one.

  • Small drum kit, young, freekish look, matters not, Rush has always sounded great. Go Rush!

  • The sound in this is identical to the album. Is this a video of them recording the song?

  • @RushRulesRock did he really?

  • @yah420 no sorry, i misread RCAvhstape's comment, he used the black ric, i have on clue about the white one

  • I wonder if Geddy still has that white Ric? I've never seen him use it in any other vids.

  • @RCAvhstape

i hear that he used the Fender Bass in the studio, and the Ric live. I have played his edition of the strat bass and the Ric. The strat bass is SOOO much better to play to be honest. Then again, my bass playing is like Geddy Lee and Steve Harris stuff.

  • @Xeivous You mean a Jazz bass, right? I don't think I've ever heard of a bass version of the Strat...I agree, though, if I had a choice of just one bass to keep I'd have to pick the Jazz over the Ric, but I love that Ric sound.

  • @RCAvhstape

oo i meant to say jazz bass. XD

  • im guessing this is a hard song to play?

  • What a fucking band! There is no better ensemble of talented, expressive, and durable rock musicians in the world. So great to see these old vids of them.

  • @northman1960 "durable" is an interesting choice of word, but yea, you're right!!!

  • @northman1960 ...Dream Theater and Racer X?

  • 4:08 rip out the double bass baby

  • Damn Neil nice mullet

  • This band is truly a beautiful thing.

  • wow.. no words to describe this ..

  • similar to Led Zeppelin here..

is that Triplets Neil playing at 4:08 ??

  • Comment removed

  • is janis joplin on bass?

  • @balerinauzicka i think its squeaky fromme.

  • @balerinauzicka Janis wasn't a brunette, silly.

  • @chrisw2546 janis wasnt male too.

  • 2 people are haters

  • comecei a me concentrar em solos ouvindo esse som do Rush , e ja se passaram 35 anos e ele continua me impressionando,Rapido, pesado e Melodicamente perfeito..

  • rush does hard rock proud

  • best rush song

  • badass

  • WOW, it's amazing how no other band can come close even decades later.

  • This song must have been a profound influence on Iron Maiden; all of the hallmarks of the latter band's songwriting style can be found here.

  • how fucking hard was this shit!!!

  • Sounds like inspiration for Metallica´s 1st album ´Kill ´em All´! Speedmetal as it was called back in the day!

  • the greatest trio in the history of rock...and that includes Cream , ZZ Top and any others you can think of....one word to describe Rush...greatness

  • Neil Peart's hair ftw !!!

  • amazing song and performance

  • DAAAAAMN look at Neil tear that shit UUUUUP!!!!!!!!!

  • Definition of rock n' roll

  • we marvel after those who sought

  • This is just the studio version synced to this live footage isnt it? it sounds to exact to be live methinks.

  • @VincentValentineXIII They're just that good live. It's how bands should be

  • @Schuldiner11 this is too exact... you can tell it is the studio version. listen to the solo, there is a section where there is clearly two guitar tracks simultaneously; in a way one cant simulate with a chorus pedal even.

  • Fly By Night is easily THE most under-rated album of all time spanning any genre of music at any period in time. Seriously, what could be more under-rated than this?

  • the real rush..

  • @skutter2001 What's the "fake" Rush?

  • A great track by Canada's #1 musical act of all time.

  • @onthemoveagain Indeed

  • I love how Alex gets into it same with neil well sorta haha

  • the first time I listened to this song (was a month ago!) I thought it was very close to thrash metal: I was surprised that RUSH had composed such a heavy song. I knew them from a while back by a best of compilation (80s). Never thought they were this heavy! That singerland kit sure sounds great, with the precise technique of Neil Pert... aduo that cannot go wrong!

  • @zobazoba69 Whether people want to admit it or not, Rush is Conceptual Metal. They're not Progressive Rock. Think of them as the H.P. Lovecraft of metal.

  • Geddy Lee is jew? no problem with jews but he is?

  • @Akumalive yes he is, his family were inmigrants from polonia in canada because of the world war 2

  • @Akumalive Yes/Geddy/Jew.

  • @Akumalive Yes, and how can any human being sing over that complex and intricate bass line?

  • @SonicThunderBYG another extraordinary jew, neil and lifeson are great too

  • All I can say is BAD ASS.!!!

  • I've been a fan of Rickenbacker basses for a long time and a friend of my dad's owns a white one similar to the one in this video.

  • ...it's not live.

    1. there are no mics on the kit.

    2. the solo has a wah and there is no wah pedal to be seen.

    3. the solo has a doubled part and there is only one guitar.

    but the song still rocks!!

  • @timonicmusic Yeah, I figured out a while later that this is just a promo.

  • @timonicmusic bro those are all effects and the wah pedal cant be seen because its small nd this isnt good quality

  • @TheCoryandDavidShow...Did you miss my first point that there are no mics on the kit? And since when are effects triggered off-stage during the early 70s?

If you listen closely to the guitar solo as it goes over the chorus chords, it IS two guitars. You couldn't make pedals that small back then without integrated circuit manufacturing. A lot of the stuff was done hand-soldered, which is why so many of the boutique effects all tended to vary in sound.

    That said...the song still rocks.

  • NEIL ! ! ! ! ♫

  • Alex Lifeson is awesome in this tune with the killer riffs. He has total command of that guitar.

  • 1:37 EPIC!

  • @Kristoliquid I know that first hand now. I want to their concert on Sunday and I came multiple times.

  • Total badasses... always ahead of the pack, Neil's wearing a mullet ten years before everyone else did! lol

Seriously, though what a completely badass song and band.

  • back in the day neil dident like cymbals he just kicked ass and still does

  • What a band

  • this audio is from the album

  • Great playing by Alex Lifeson , and when you are wearing a cool shirt like that how can you miss?

  • My absolute musical heroes

  • Is this lip synced or anything? or were they just amazing live? >_>

  • I want a rickenbacker :(

  • Had alot better sound than I one I just watched a minute ago!!

  • Who the hell was the one guy who "disliked" this?!

  • WROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • MIERDA! Esto suena como la HOSTIA!!!

Muchas gracias por el video HD!

  • Great song, awesome message!

  • youtue glitch sorry for the one star

  • Lifeson's a cutie ;)

  • this band really is fucking incredible. i love them

  • 1:36 lol neil he's amazing

  • Neil's wearing the first fashion hoodie and sporting an early mullet. Clearly a man ahead of his time.

  • I'm not sure-

it is however , a quot from the book HAMMER OF THE GODS based on the band led zeppelin.

  • it's funny to see Neil playing such a "small" kit

  • @905Alive and still doing miracles

  • @22kcirle mind over matter

  • @905Alive He can also put out as much sound as his triple set lol

  • @905Alive and in the 70's without the stache

  • I love this song

  • Rush does rule Rock.

  • SOOOOO NICE !

Anthem is a bbbomb and what a voice line ... and instrumental lines too, holy crap !!

    Simply another G.R.E.A.T. M.A.S.T.E.R.P.I.E.C.E. !!

    AS I SAID...
