  • Is there anyway to still run programs in Geswall without the g symbol being on your icons.

  • Comment removed

  • @albaniandy Yes. They kinda recommended that you do so.

  • Why cant they take a break on Leakwall and work on teh 64-bit version of GesWall

  • Apparently no plans for a native XP 64bit version. Epic fail...

  • @albaniandy Yes you can :)

  • you the best!!!!!!!!!!!

  • internet explorer xD

  • What if geswall is crashing for some reason middle of blocking infection (interference with some other software etc) .. so now when you boot up and u still have something in memory..

is there known securty threats that kill geswall/defence wall?

  • @WaffaMargus I doubt it, considering that it can't get access to GeSWall because it isn't trusted and GeSWall probably shuts down any isolated program if it crashes.

  • What means HIPS?

  • @MegaCamu Host Intrusion Protection

  • THIS SOFTWARE IS TIGHT!

  • i have CIS premium free version. could i get rid of all that and get this and just this?

  • I really didn't like GeSWall for one simple reason. Almost all of my files running in task manager were immediately isolated. I couldn't take them out of it. -___-

  • @PvtPlatypus thats why you can choose to isolate or not to

  • @kbd668 Dude no offense, but why did you respond to a 2 month old comment?

  • @PvtPlatypus Because no one else responded to it. DUH XD

  • @cheater87 Ok lol

  • What's wrong with your mice in this video? It sounds quite funny :D

Great video anyway.. Wish I understood how to figure out Geswall, Sandboxie, or Defensewall though..

  • genital security...lol

  • Can you take the green animation off?

  • @oLACHESISo yes you can

  • Please Help guys! D: What does GesWall Freeware if it detects a application that is dangerous! It mabye blocks it, but what about you click run, and it installs. :S Freeware can't Terminate the process of the Malware

  • @HackerPerson44 Anything that tries to touch the system critical files of the system geswall will automatically block without asking.

And If you want your system to be save i recommend to always run your browser isolate before surfing around

  • Yeah, I installed GesWall. Runned it, and it said every "window" i opened it said: "UNTRUSTED" and a red bar. :S

  • Do you have a 64bit system ?

  • yes...

  • remove geswall now :0 because geswall does not supporte 64 bit computers if i remember well

  • Damn... still not.. -.-

  • remove it cuz it does not support 64 bit so yeah it might cause dmg to your pc unles if you have 32 bit system thats a diff story

  • @HackerPerson44 i forgot to mention. yes it can terminate the program if you did run your browser in isolation mode.

  • Okay. But I use my setup here:

    Protection: Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010

If KAV misses I use: Immunet Protect

Should i also GesWall in my SETUP? :)

  • @HackerPerson44 Upon my opinions is that i suggest you to remove immunet and install geswall. and learn to how to use it properly or else its useless.

why uninstall immunet? its a antivirus.

NEVER have 2 antivirus running at the same time.

Kaspersky indeed it is good that is why im telling you to keep it :D

  • No no mate. Immunet runs with your Anti-Virus. It's a cloud-based. And it's nice. You can check it out, but I dunno if i SHOULD have that Setup going. :S

  • Cause GesWall does nearly the same... So I dunno. :/

  • @HackerPerson44 i just recommend you to not run it together.... your choice

  • Yeah yeah, but I run it now. No Lag. No crash. Even they website says they work Kaspersky and other Anti-virusses. But yeah, it's my choice. But I'm a gamer + love to Download many things, So i need a setup without Laag, and protects good. :S

  • i just say that kaspersky + geswall is enought to protect you whole system

actully geswall would protect your whole computer from my opinion its just if you know how to use it. i only use geswall and no virus no trojans nothing for now :D" and malwarebytes just in case"

  • Comment removed

  • i use my firewall + malwarebytes

  • I use GeSWall+Avira now, thanks! Avira Protects from USB Flashdrive viruses and GeSWall does the rest.

  • what if i ran this under sandboxie.... that would be like a malwares worst nightmare

  • Lol

  • I agree with the last review. What would have happened when some of the malware wanted to send confidential files? If you couldn't choose what to do, would it automatically say no or what?

  • If the free version has no termination what do I do with the malware that Geswall stops?

  • Geswall and isolating the malwarebytes setup isn't a good idea.

  • Whenever he clicks, there's a loud kerchunk sound..

  • That's the worlds loudest mouse. Sounds like a label gun..

  • at 20 min. was fun :D lol what a virus :X

  • I think the GesWall way of doing things is the future. People really need to read the manuals and become very acquainted with such programs and how they work. How and when to terminate certain threats and how to handle various applications with such software as GesWall.

Excellent video .. Thanks for doing it!

  • GesWall seems kinda safer and much more user friendly than Sandboxie. Looks extremely easy and I bet that any user would be able to use it. I think this can even beat my highly configured Comodo Defense+ but they both do different things. Use either one and you will be malware-free! =D

  • Comment removed

  • ive already got comodo internet security. if i install avira antivirus and just disable comodos antivurs will it conflict?

defense plus and comodos firewall are awsum

  • No... But try uninstalling COMODO Antivirus, then install Avira. or AVG. or Avast...

  • I just downloaded geswall and it is isolating pretty much all my apps. doesn't seem to be a problem but wondering why matt is not having this go on in this review. I don't know which apps to terminate.

  • So... Can I use AV and Comodo firewall with this?

  • I really dont get something. why do people make viruses/trojans and all that crap. i mean.. what the hell is the point of it? liek really. it doesnt do anything. they just delete files. probably some nerds wit no life make them.

  • Nowadays, many virus writers are actually Cyber Gangs that work together to make and distribute Keyloggers and other spyware in order to gain a person's passwords to their online banking account, paypal account, etc. These ppl make tens of thousands of $ a month. Some are as young as 13.

  • 13? Jesus.. That's young to be doing this, that's why hackingforums should not be allowed on the internet =(.

  • Ok i have avira free edition v.9 and comodo internet security with just the firewall and defense+ installed would i benefit from installing geswall? and if so would any changes need to be made to the comodo defense+ module as it has HIPS implemented

  • You do not need Geswall. Avira Free will stop almost any attack. What is misses, Defense + will catch. Adding Geswall MAY cause a conflict with Comodo. Your current security suite is pretty awesome.

  • I used to have it as when I close the browser that my cookies and temp files would delete off my system...but now I basically invite them over...Anyone else have this problem?

  • ...which I then had to uninstall avira (note: for some reason just disabling avira still doesn't work). They both share this annoying key factor why i left defensewall: they keep default ie8 settings which i now have adware tracking cookies floating around which i understand that it won't do harm on my pc with geswall but still...it's annoying.

  • Now I've tried defence wall and I'm curently trying geswall. They both seem pretty much the same to me. One key factor was when I uninstalled defensewall and wanted to install geswall, it wouldn't install. The guys at geswall explained that my av (avira) was causing it not to install...

  • I have Comodo, I like it but, It causes PowerDVD to crash. Is the Free version of GesWall on par with Comodo firewall; can it replace comodo as my firewall protection is what I am asking.

  • y do ppl make malware wat good dose it do

  • Creating spyware that logs your info, such as credit card numbers, passwords to your Paypal account, passwords to your online banking account, etc does thieves a lot of good. They end up stealing LOTS of money from ppls accounts.

A guy I know just told me that his bank account was overdrawn by $1200.00. He didn't know that he had a keylogger on his machine. His bank called him and let him know. That sucks.

  • Would this be compatible with Comodo Firewall?

Would it be redundant to what Comodo's Defence+ feature does or does it do more?

  • Right now i got Avira and Geswall not bad at the moment

  • Have you gotten a virus yet

  • No not yet

  • excellent video, thank you.

so would you say that it geswall is better than defensewall?

  • I would say that because its easier to use.

  • ok i'll try this, as of now my security combo are ESET Smart Security 4, Malwarebytes, Ad-Aware AE edition PRO and Spybot S&D w/ Spyware Blaster(My system is fast running no problems slowing down with this combo).. and i'm adding this GesWall

  • Personally, I'd take ad aware off. It's dated and bad nowadays \:

  • thats what she said at 15:55

    :P

  • same here geterdonein01

for some reason when i installed it though, i had to format.

there was so many errors :(

  • 19:45 shit man, that right there convinced me to get this program!

  • Same here!

  • And Can you use GesWall Freeware with AVG and MalwareBytes???

  • Yes you can, but it doesnt need to.

  • ok thanks alot

  • Im planning on downloading the freeware version is it worth it?

  • Ya, I have it and I tried all these links and it prevented it.

  • Hi Matt..

Thanks for your reviews.I have started to use Geswall with NOD32 because of you (I have a router).

    Thank you man.

  • what is geswall internet security suite ?

  • lol

    ur username is id1ot

  • Doesn't Vista do the same thing, with elevated permissions?

  • its rily good but i hate the green flashy thing...

    its kinda messy

  • you can disable it

  • can geswall prevent attacks from an infected usb drive ?

  • he did say just for internet connections but it may well do =)

  • it does but you have to set a rule so that it will

  • qeusetion where do you get the virtual box

  • if u mean running xp in the "virtual box" download vitual pc 2007 of get vmware and create a new virtual drive, then capture iso image/cd to install xp/os in the "virtual box"

  • sorry i accedentally forgot to erase that i got that stuff

  • can i use this with AVG 8.5?

  • Sure you can, but AVG is complete trash though if you look at some reviews on youtube.

  • commodo internet security or if you got some doe get kaspersky for all out protection or eset for if you spend most of your time gaming and dont like to fiddle around with av settings

  • hi, i'm planning to buy some HIPS, so should i buy geswall or defensewall??

  • They are very similar. Give it a try and choose one of them.

  • Thanx For The POsted Videos, I Fixed Computers For A LIving, Never Heard Of Geswall I Don't Know How But... Looking Into This. I JUst Wanted To Say THanx

  • is there a big diffrence with the free version?

  • omfg!!! dude thats the confiker worms website the last 1 u where 1 omfg i am so mutch gonna download geswall

  • that was not a conficker link.

conficker just uses waldac in its last stage.

  • Why is it for sale in euros?

  • Can you run GesWall with panda security?

  • Thanks a lot .Interesting review .

  • Both Chrome and IE8 block that site. So does Avast! Web Shield.

    But, Firefox doesn't!

  • Refering to the last site you went on.

  • I might install this.

  • Comment removed

  • Nice Review Matt!

    Keep it going!

  • Do you think that sandboxing is better or IPS is better? Or do you think that both are just as good? There are some floors, if you think that the file is legitimate you could label it as trusted not knowing that it is malware. Maybe try running this with drivesentry, just to make sure that you have foolproof protection. Or an internet security application.

  • Awesome! ^^

  • Thanks for this review man! I never knew about this before seeing this review. This thing is awesome.

  • your clicking is really annoying

  • I tried Geswall out after watching the review. Great product. I will defanately keep using it.

  • can i run it along with my avg ? or it needs to be alone ?

  • You can run it alognside AVG, no problem.

  • The review is great, and the app. too. I don't like that it slows down opening new tabs in Firefox.

Without it opens in a sec and with maybe 2 sec. Maaybe a minor problem but I really like my PC to respond fast. Or my internet browsing.

Boot time of the PC is the same though.

  • why does it isolate some things like

    dwm.exe kbd.exe mmc.exe rundll.exe and stuff?

  • I still like you to try haute secure,it does a good job for me this far for my browser .

  • can i run this and norton internet security 09 at the same time?

  • and can i run this on 64 bit vista?

  • Cool, thanks. I downloaded the pro version and tried the installer and it looks good. I have ZoneAlarm Extreme Security right now and I paid for it so I am battling with myself as to switching out. I like ZA pretty good but I would like to lighten the load a bit. It's not bad once I am up and running but shew, boot up time took a hit. Even with 3gigs of ram

  • Wish I could find out if it was Vista 64 bit compatible..

  • winpooch sounds like a rogue...... but I checked it,

it's legit never heard of it, but majorgeeks has it.

I'd kinda like to see that reviewed too ;)

  • :) new av-test result r out now(big surprise for norton/mcafee hater & avg/avira/avast lover)...

:( just google for av-comparatives coz the link won't show up on youtube...

  • Comment removed

  • Hi Matt!

Ever heard about Winpooch? It's an intrusion-prevention system that detects and blocks malware. It's really powerful and if I remember right there is ClamWin Antivirus integrated in it (you can disable it if you want).

Would be great if you had time to review it.

  • u can't trust any web broswer/email/messenger/keygen unless its sandboxed/isolated in virtual enviroment...

  • looks cool.. but i like malware bytes...

  • hey does geswall block an av espcaily if it updates every 5 mins

  • Nice Video! wow that fake flash player codec is just down right naughty. keep up the videos these are fun to watch

  • Is this better than ESET Smart Security 4 (NOD32)?

  • Not better or worse, ud best be off usin them both as they compliment each other real well. GW is a HIPS wich SS is lacking.

  • my "fake" av is detecting Antivirus 1 changing the host.. I clicked allow! (its on a vpc)

  • Same. it says Powerful in Kuala Lumpur near market

  • it says winows live messenger 9.0 is untrusted. it sux.

  • Nono, WLM is supposed to be untrusted as its a possible and realistic attack vector.

  • wow i think geswall is a SUPER MUST software , it looks like it does what its suppost to unlike most antivirst . whats the point of haveing a antivirus if geswall kills it before its even on your system

  • Exactely, Pro Active Apps are the shit! Note: nothingh is 100% secure.

  • THOU SHALT NOT TURN GESWALL OFF !!

  • LOL, n1

  • ie8 rules firefox is good compared to ie8 but ie8 is awsome

  • ie7 sux firefox ftw

  • u all want malware links?watch this guy video he got many links lloll

    watch?v=8FCZ3BMED8I

  • I downloaded the geswall trial like 3 days ago and it worked great but for some reason today it has been saying that firefox is trying to modify a critical system file...something that has to do with testupdate.txt...should i be worried? or is that something that firefox just needs to do?

  • did u receive a firefox update, maybe fior your addons perhaps?

  • You Sure?

  • Dont awsner a question with a questions man :)

  • well i turned geswall off and then went online...and after i guess firefox did what it had to do...but it didnt tell me anything..then i turned geswall back on and it stopped warning me bout it :/

  • Will GesWall work with avast can i have both? lol

  • yer

  • That USA breaking News one is easily the most evil little piece of malware I've ever seen. It's simply a brilliant trap...

  • wow thats amazing it does some sort of ip check, and it lists your city his city was sait lius mine said irvine and the wording changes and the exe changes each time once it was save.exe, now its news.exe its amazing and the exe is not detected by comodo, avira nothing so the exe i think is repacked the only thing that warns me, is avira, probly because the script that changes the city, avira said it was html virus
  • i have KIS and it blocked all of the links!

  • So I see you can upload over 10 minutes now... How did you achieve that?

  • he became a partner

  • I posted this earlier:

"Geswall can be terminated from Task Manager"

    -

What if you were to set 'restart program' in the Services, will it still continue to protect for the current application set as untrusted.

    ?

  • yup, so easy.

  • Well...it crashes windows 7!!!! no booting anymore..system restore!! later

  • windows 7 is still in beta mait

  • that's very correct boogieman!! but why not mention?? but it kicks ass so much that I never go back to xp..a wee ba be lou ba!!

  • Would you expect anything less from a product not designed for Windows7?

  • NO!!! please...but to check such a great program and inform my fellow citizens doesn't hurt now does it???I mean avira goes great in w7 and just in case I have threatfire running smoothly next to it..by the way the new kaspersky designed for w7 also crashed big time!!so it's back to my beloved avira again!!next month I move to the us..see ya around ;)

  • do not try windows 7(beta), it'll ruin ur pc coz there r super ultra many great programs like this won't even work so it is useless w/o 3rd party software support!!!!

  • 95% of all the programs i testet in windows 7 worked, of course i had to run some of them i compatibility mode. but i used windows 7 as my only OS on both computers and never had any major problems

  • I'm gonna put this right next to avira!!

  • That's my combo on my laptops

  • Awesome review !

    Great video and Sound quality.

    Loved the yellow mouse shadow.

The only thing I did not liked wak the "loud" mouse click sound.

Keep up the good work !

  • Sweet, thanks man!

  • mat..I downloaded this but I cant install it..

when I open the installation file...it gives me NTFS error...any help ?? thnx

  • On a side note HIPS products are a great way to get rid of nasty malware already present on your system, as long as it is not hidden like a rootkit. You can manually untrust the malware or mal-processes and 'disable' it to allow you to delete it. I've used HIPS to get rid of nasty malware on pcs that did not allow you to run any antivirus including mbam. I manually untrusted the processes which allowed me to delete or at least run mbam to erase it. Geswall treats malware like a joke !

  • Yeah, I've used them like this (Defense+ and DefenseWall).

  • Thanx Matt, I can't tell you how much your vids/ tutorials have helped me out, techs need to keep up to date with this stuff there's always something new to learn. I turn has many people onto your vids and site as I can, this stuff everybody needs to learn. Thanx man !!!!

  • Geswall can be terminated from Task Manager, that I didn't like.

    No self-protection?

  • Inexperienced users will still install MSAntivirus 2009 as a trusted application! LOL!

Still to complicated for the computer-illiterates out there! :(
