Can you help me out on a problem? My Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5041 Charger For some reason, IDK broke? Well one day at first i started to get plugged in not charging messages but i know how to fix that and a few days ago the charger stopped working unless I put the cord connecting to the jack that plugs into the computer at a certain angle. Now suddenly today my charger completely stops working and I keep moving the charger around but nothing works.
@encounter99 Sure if your in FL bring it by the shop if you would like us to take care of that.. Otherwise your welcome to send that to us and we will get it working like new 321-332-0710
I just replaced the power connector in my Toshiba. I was lucky in that it has a cable that connects to the motherboard, so there was no soldering involved. The biggest challenge was taking the laptop apart, and there were a lot of screws, but I put all of them back. Happy Days!
My laptop is Toshiba Satellite A205-S5800. It freezes or hang up when the ac adapter/charger is connected....runs smoothly when battery powered. what seems to be the problem?
@alen22ash Thats an interesting issue. I would check with a volt meter that your adapter is putting out the rated amount of volts. I have seen plenty that still work but they are not putting out enough or even to much. This will cause the charging module in the laptop to overheat or fail.
Plz help and i wish i lived near u so u could fix it but anyway. I used to be able to fiddle with my charger until it charged but now it doesnt do anything and if it cannot be fixed my IBM laptop is useless.I dont know if it is this problem or not, any help is apreciated
ok so it turns out its much more easier than i thought. The charger port doesnt need to be soldered and it can be unclipped and replaced .How much would this cost in £ plz thanks
Check ebay if your not local.. $20 on ebay and you can have it done in no time. If your local bring it by the shop I will install it really fast for you.
I have a question, my laptop quit charging and will only work off the battery, I can SOMETIMES charge it if i wiggle the charger around for 10 mins but recently it has gotten to the point where it wont charge at all. If I replace this would it most likely fix my problem?
I have a Toshiba A85 that is about 5 years old. It shuts down on its own with no warning. I replaced the fan thinking it was getting overheated but that didnt do it. I wonder if I am experiencing the same kind of problem you are showing here. Last time I had it in the shop it wouldnt do it and they could'nt find the problem. I tried doing a restore and that didnt do it and there are no indication of a virus on it. Any ideas or where do I ship it?
My Toshiba A85 boots up fine and then after running it suddenly just shuts down. I thought it was the fan, replace that, so I dont think it is overheating, hmmmmmm!!!! took off SKYPE and a lot of other programs and that seems to help some but tonight it shut down again after being on an hour or so. Sounds to me like a failing power supply, what da ya think? Im clueless as to what may be happening. Never had any other problems with it before. Did a complete restore but didnt fix it.????
i just both my new toshiba laptop and its work normaliy but when i update the system and restart the computer i got a black screen with a small flashing (-) in the top-right so anyone can help me please!!??
I don't know if I have the same problem, but it is similar. When I plug the laptop in at night, it charges the battery fine. But then once I've logged in, it starts acting as if I'm pulling the power cord out and putting it back in, over and over again and at best, I get about 15 minutes of life out of it and then it dies as if I was running solely on battery power that just ran out.
Sure sounds like it. Your DC jack is intermittent It is getting ready to go. If your good with the soldering iron just open it up and pull the mother board out. I would touch up the DC power jack and clean the CPU fan while your in there.. They get dirty and it will prolong the life of your laptop.
Let me know if you have any questions. I will do my best to help.
Thanks for the video, I'm in Mass but I'm an Orlando native and I know right where you're at. I have the same power tip issue right now with a Toshiba Satellite A205-S6808 and nobody's been very helpful locally. It's slightly different and there's a cord that plugs into the jack and connects to the board. The DC jack is loose and seemingly connected to the cord. No charge to the CPU, From your experience would you think it would still be as simple as taking it apart and re soldering it?
Im sorry you havent had luck local.. I will try to help and get you on the right track. What I would do is first check the charger with a volt meter. You should see between 16 - 21 volts from the charger. Then I would check on the other side of the power tip inside the laptop.. If you see current that proves the charger and the tip is good. Look to see if the solder is in good shape to the board too. You can send me a pic if you need help.
Do you nkow any place that does this for this great price in staten island ? :(

@chasquipampa You have to pull it apart and put it back in place. I would use some good epoxy if the plastic retaining clips broke.
If you run into issues your welcome to send it to us.

Sorry for getting back to you late. IT seems YT messed up this video comments.
It could be the charger.. Just check it with a volt meter to see if its giving power.

When you boot up make sure you dont have a USB stick in and clear all CD's from the rom.
If it still does it.. When its booting just tap F8 and Choose Load last known good configuration.
If it dont boot still, tap F8 on bootup and go into safe mode and do a thorough scandisk .
Let us know if that helps.
