  • why did you need to take the meat out and put it back in?

  • Where's the Guinness? :'( It's ok, us Irish still love ya

  • Hehe, "I rish"

  • I Rish you would stop being such a condescending cunt of a yank, and concentrate more on the food. No one wee this and wee that. But you would know that if you left your bubble once in a while.

  • I dont agree that you need to burn the shit out of everything, but it looks decent.

  • Can't you repost this so it's not all jiggety jaggety jibbly bobs?

  • tags "sexy"

  • Just made this... it's soo good.

Next time I'll season the lamb a little more to give it more flavor

  • This is too good!

  • Yummy!!! I will make this for St. Patrick's day.

  • I'm Irish and live u forgot the leek and barley but otherwise gud job

  • omfg this is the best stew i've ever seen!

  • Going to be making this for my boyfriend on Saint Patties Day :)

  • "I Rish you can smell this"

I see what you did there :D

  • I made this the other day - very delicious. I didn't simmer on a low heat, so it reduced the sauce by half, so I removed the meat, added the potatoes, made more stock, 500 mls worth and poured it ontop the potatoes and sauce, then re-added the meat which had fallen off the bone anyhow, the fat had reduced too. Then I simmered on a low heat for about 20-25mins. Worth the wait. Still got some, am hungry and will eat some in a mo!

  • my papa used to make this. this makes me sad, but it looks delicious

  • I hope this work on chicken...

  • wouldn't that taste little bland without any more salt or seasonings? :/

  • Please do a bacon and cabbage video! I know you don't do much to it but I'm sure you'd come up with stuff! From Co. Clare! :)

  • @jrockv5 check his irish corned beef and cabbage video, kind of the same thing.

  • Irish you could smell this. Wouldnt be food wishes without the bad jokes!

  • do you use beef stock?

  • @MrXclio

He said at 2:02. He used Chicken Stock but you can use beef, if you want.

  • love your videos. please do a recipe for japanese curry!

  • you should know how great your recipes are for me!!!

  • weee riblett = Win

  • i just got an epic meal time ad... what?

  • Can this stew be made in a pressure cooker?

  • I've been mesmerized /(O_O)\ YUM YUM YUM!

  • Im from Co.Tipperary and Ive been working in the middle east for the last 7 months. Needless to say I got a bit fed up with eating local food here. So I gave this a go, and it was rich.. Proper job food, at last. My Mum will proud of me.. Cheers mate, all the best..

  • @riazorblue My father can sympathize. :) All they serve in the Middle East is either Lanb/Mutton kebabs and pita bread.

  • wowza!!! i love you men, i still cannot belive i made this luveeeeeeee you

  • excellent

  • it makes me HUNGRY!!!!!!

gonna try cooking this kind of DISH!

    LOL

  • hmmm wanna try, looks really good

  • thanks for the recipe tried and now i gained a few pounds

  • Now, if you could get mutton.

  • I made this stew tonight and it was divine. I added my own little twist to it as usual, lol. Lovely dish and I will be making it again.

  • Where did the onion go? it dissolves if u cook it long enough. Always season your dish to your taste. This dish looks pretty good. I will be adding peppers, scallions, onions and a few tasty seasonings. Will also steam a pot of parbroiled rice and make homemade buttermilk biscuits.

  • is this only irish, or irish American lamb stew?

  • thats not the traditional way of cooking irish stew but it still looks nice

  • are you eat this individually or serve with rice or someting?

  • does Potato skins Poisonous?

  • @zxh5566 No, potato skins are actually rich in vitamins and minerals.<3 Good for you! :D

  • @zxh5566 Haha!! Where did you even hear that? I love potato skins!

  • where does all the onion go....?

  • i made this dish recently and I won't make it again. I'm not used to eating lamb with so few spices. But I can see it would taste pretty good to some other people.

  • OMG, I love me some lamb. But it is hard to find here in CA where I live. When I do sit it I see lamb chops. But very seldom do I find that lamb shoulder and nice as these you are using.

  • My fat demon just snarled like a hunting panther!

  • Your a genious!

  • Stew's on. I rish it were done already :)

  • can i use beef instead?

  • @fl1pm1ster absolutely, the lamb just makes it more Irish.. I would also recommend using turnips in this

  • For anyone who is actually from Ireland: Is it because recipe features lamb, that he calls it Irish Stew? What bothers me is that I can't find a true Irish man or woman posting a video. So, potatoes or not? Carrots, or not? How about peas in the stew? Is it wrong to want to have dumplings? My ancestors came from County Cork, and if they ate it then in 1860, I'd like to serve it to my family in their honor, and do it justice:)

  • @LoquaciousByNature I'm from Ireland, and live not too far from Cork actually! This video is pretty authentic, you can throw beef in there instead if you want, it will still be "Irish". Nowadays some people add some gravy powder or even soy sauce! But if you want back to basics then you can't get more basic than this. Add salt and pepper too. And I wouldn't say it's "wrong" to have dumplings, but I've never heard of that in a stew. By the way, how did you find out your ancestors came from Cork?

  • @cometaaalii yes regular spuds are fine

  • I made this for lunch. it was soooo good, my friends loved it. most importantly, it's quite simple to make and the spicies needed is just rosemary. I'd like to have lots of simple recipe like this!!

  • makes me wanna eat my computer

  • LOVE IT, GREETINGS FROM SLOVAKIA

  • its funny how people think we actually eat all that crap food. Most irish food is actually horrible to be honest id much rather have a mc donalds

  • I just cooked and trust me chef is right I wish everyone could smell this!!! and it taste like a virgin Irish girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!mmmmh.

  • @kanny2010 as a female, that's a rather disturbing analogy. food+sex? not my kink

  • I had this at a local restaurant called wool growers. Omg it was good, thanks for posting this so I can make it myself

  • I think you're a fantastic, creative cook. However, the absence of Guinness offends me.

  • Yeah not how we'd cook it in the Republic of Ireland either but does look nice

  • 100 pipers were always behind!

  • Not how we would make it here in Belfast, but it looks tasty, and I have to say the chef sounds like good craic!! Keep er lit !

  • just made it. tastes amazing. thank u for the recipe

  • i made this today fucking loved it

  • and make it slightly thicker!

  • make mince balls and use them instead of lamb cuts !

  • Chef, makes some pirate stew next please.

  • Nocando your breath smells like old lamb stew.

  • This reminds me of the company X-Mas party at a co workers home where we were having beers. I had to piss something awful and the bathroom was occupied, and not being able to hold it any longer before I pissed my pants, saw this pot on the stove in the kitchen with the above stew slow cooking. I looked around to make sure it was clear and quickly lifted the lid, unzipped my fly, and leaked into the stew!

  • I just wanted to dive into my screen because it lookeds so deliccccioso. I'm going to try it.

  • Word of advice, dont use the word 'dump' when refering to the adding of ingredients

  • Greetings from Dublin,Ireland, thats a nice irish stew

  • irish stew in the name of the law

  • Celery destroys Irish Stew.

Lamb, Onion and Potatoes are all you need - with salt and pepper. Thats Traditional Irish Stew.

  • @RedRebel8 yeah but it tastes crappy compared to these more "exotic" recipes!

  • @tiBbLeX I don't think so. Too many ingrediants in the stew drown out the flavour of the lamb. Celery is the worse thing you can put in it. Its fine if you like it - just don't call it Irish Stew cause it ain't.

  • @RedRebel8 Fair enough.

Do you use a lamb stock or just water?

Also do you add any bay leaves, worcestershire or beer?

  • i saw this recipe last year and started making it. i get asked to make it often :)

  • irish i could smell this too.....

  • he doesnt like beer you cant trust him haaaa

  • can i put mushrooms in?

  • No beer? Kinda weak, but its okay still looks damn good in the end

  • @jacobforlifeson i want to make this the best way possible. what beer should i use?

  • @ElnAlter I'd suggest to you Guinness. Dark beer, would go well with this.

  • Jammy! pretty good presentation sir! makes me hungry . . .

  • Looks divine! Holy shit...

  • Damn im hungry now.

  • I lol at "Riblets"

  • you didn't put any salt either what that taste look like?????

  • @Fields0401 I think the taste is probably from the butter (if it's salted butter) and the chicken stocking...I think me mentioned it somewhere at around 1:30

  • I made this dish from this video and it worked out absolutely beautifully! Thanks foodwishes! Mwah xx
