I guess Canada get's a better value for the money in the army not as many soldiers so some of the extra funding could go to the training quality , and equipment , even if the US has the biggest military budget they have to spread it out of a ton of soldiers. Just thought I had to state the obvious :P
@youdontknow1298 you get about 5-6 hours a night during the week and during the field weeks 4-6 hours for the week depending on your staff. I was so sleep fucked I fell from a standing position in my trench..good times. The excercises are about a week. There's around 3 weeks of actually field weeks.
If you apply for infantry soldier, do you instantly get in? or are there chances that you wont be accepted because they are full or something like that.
@razma1000 You will not "instantly" get in application process could take up to months and years. It's even worse if your trade closes during the time.
Just handed in my application today for Infantry after 8 months of waiting for trades to open up, been traning hard and can not wait to hear back from them.
I dont see why people are hating on the Navy. I'm joining as a Naval Communicator. I wanted to see the world, and go to beautiful ports of call (Pear Harbor and such). I'll take Pear Harbor over Afghanistan any day, though Naval Communicators can apply to be deployed to Afghanistan, so, who knows.
@babyfacebosn Nobody is "hating" on the Navy. Just a few light hearted remarks in their direction maybe. It's a little difficult for combat soldiers to relate to our sailor brethren sometimes. Different strokes for different folks. Soldiers generally join up to train and fight... Slightly different than your stated motivations. Hence you can see the rationale behind some of the jests and scoffing.
@babyfacebosn See, I have the opposite view that you do. I joined the USMC to fuckin' kill some Taliban because they're evil and someone's gotta stop them somewhere. I joined the USMC as an artillery cannoneer because I can serve and travel, but I get to do some good at the same time. I'm not like you, just mooching off the Navy to go visit places and not want to help. Sure, you're helping, but your mentality isn't right.
@Squadomatick It's more that your mentality is not right. If you join to make a difference so be it, but joining solely on the purpose to "kill" is not a good mentality to go off of. I should have elaborated more. I joined the Navy to develop my leadership potential into a life time commitment, to see the world, to give aid in the world where it is needed, to give something back to my country, and to defend her to the best of my ability if a war were to happen. I will kill if I need to kill.
I have been depressed and suicidal and shit all my life, but I've always had a deep love for the military. But now, today, I applied to the Army Reserves in my town. I have never felt this much motivation in my life. Ever. I thank the Military for everything. It saves lives, yes, but it saved my life. And now I owe it a debt I can only repay with my total devotion.

@paintballing4life1 BMQ 3-4 months DP1 3-4 months wait on reserve op 1day- all your life texas 1-2 months winwright 1-2 months valcartier 2months......
@D1rtyDog the C7 is made by colt who makes the us m16 ect.. its the same rifle pretty much, based around the same design, canada just made some tweaks when dymex or what ever the company that made them before was, us troops like using are guns and love are ammo lol, but yeah the c7 is full auto as im pretty sure the ar-15 is only semi? i know you can by them in canada and own them but the C7 is strictly prohibited to the CF, either way its kill gun, i love mine lol
@plexeus Uh, yeah.... ummm, thanks for the info?? I'm well aware what a C7 is and your post reads like it was written by a 5 y/o and is full of factucal errors. And "you" don't have a C7... you were issued one (I'm guessing by your reserve unit?) .... scary as that seems judging by your written communication skills.
@D1rtyDog fighting in wars is a soldiers job not some weekend warrior weekday baker, that being said I am joined the reserve because I am not old enough to join the regs
@D1rtyDog no I am just saying that fighting in wars is a soldiers job, I was more or less agreeing with you I think, I dont mean any disrespect if you are a marine, My point is you cant fight a war with resirvists (ie what canada is doing) I understand the need to have them in case the numbers go down or god forbid there are a lot of casualties, it just seems like every other canadian in afghanistan is a militia member
@leafsfan9917 I'm not a marine, I'm in the CF. Canada is "not fighting a war with reservists" as you put it. They are augmentees to the regular force. I don't think you are really qualified or informed enough to have a reasonable opinion on these matters.
@D1rtyDog well you definatley cant deny that the CF needs more people, the military has to gain back a lot of respect with the public, and where I live there are tons of reservists here going over seas
@leafsfan9917 Gain respect back from the public? In what sense?? Public suport of the CF is higher now than it's been in years. Yes, the military is small, underfunded and there has been manpower shortages with the strain of Afghanistan, but the military has been highly effective under those circumstances. Anecdotal evidence means nohing. Yes, lots of reserves are going overseas... but there is a lot more regular force personel.
@D1rtyDog ok mabye respect is the wrong word, yeah sure the public shows support but most of them choose not to serve, look we are both on the same side if we agree that we would like to see the CF become better funded, and have more people enlisting, in the perfect world no reserves would be going over
@leafsfan9917 Honestly, you really don't know what you are talking about. The infantry has been closed to new recruits for some time now because it has been overmanned. Too many people were enlisting. Reserves are mandated to make up a certain percentage of overseas personnel not necessarily as a necessity but because they need to be given the operational experience as well. You reall
@leafsfan9917 Alright, you haven't made a valid point other than "the military needs to be bigger" which is a huge can of worms and doesn't need to be debated here. Enough is enough, this isn't a discussion board.
@D1rtyDog well with the amount of people that want to serve it should be like ww2 have the people serve for afghanistan if they don't want to stay let them leave cause those who make it but there is no space avalible it's like a slap in the face
@101andrewj I'm not interested in what you "heard".... just the facts. Some parts of the military are having trouble attracting personel (ie. the Navy) but overall recruiting is not an issue for the CF... in fact, they are scaling it back.
@D1rtyDog i also heard that the canadian navy sees alot of action working over off the cost of east africa and south west asia.... i rather fight pirates with 100 ton frigates then get blown apart by ieds in some shitty sandpit
@D1rtyDog yeah... i have light asthma so i deffently couldnt pull of infantry.... but im not fat or nothing and i could easly man a weapons platform or drive a vehicle, but i think the navy would be easyer then afghanistan
@EtchASketchOfDeath It's hilarius listening to every smuck going into the Navy talk about how he's going to "be boarding party" anyway. Well congrats... you still will never see any action.
@D1rtyDog haha, dude im going into the army chill,
i don't even know where i was going with that last comment im joining the army for that purpose of maybe not getting all that much action in the navy, so yeah you're right man.
@D1rtyDog two buddies of mine are Boarding Party on their Respective HMCS'. But from what they were saying if you can't handle the Sea it can kick your ass. At least we don't have to sleep on a moving platform that goes up and down and left and right.
I'll stick with the Green side of things much funner anyway.
they made a shot about canadas combat training, they actually fit lazers to every soldier and every weapon and every vehicle weapon, and these lazers react exactly how a bullet would, and then they fight eachother with blank ammunition and lazers and they can simulate a real battle, with enemy soldiers and civilians... if a person is hit his vest will beep and say wer he is hit... and they are to mock that injury
@101andrewj ive been trying to get into the canadian miltary as a reserve unit for a few months now, their just not hiring. there are still plenty of people dropping out and ending contracts. so what their doing is effectively dropping the overall size of the reserves. only the navy is hiring in full swing
@00battletactics00 well... it wasnt to long ago that i heard canada wanted to leave the afghan mission because they wer having trouble recruiting infantry soldiers and armored soldiers and machanics
@101andrewj ya from what i hear the spending cuts to most reserve units, mainly in ontario has forced them to downsize. im sure they could find and transfer funds from some other part of the military budget to fund recruiting for deployment purposes. if their that desperate for infantry soldiers than why dont they start hiring, it doesnt make sense. the damn economic breakdown is still killing us, it really sucks
@00battletactics00 yeah not 2 long ago, like a year or 2 back... the canadian forces finally got 5 billion from the government to upgrade there current equipment.... this does not count the money they always get for matience and logistics... but how can the canadian government expect the canadian forces to fight well when they give them 5 billion every 10 years to buy new stuff, yet in america they spend 5 billion per navy ship 20x a year
@101andrewj ALL Reg Force Infantry & Artillery positions are full for the next while , I know because I was in for all my testing yesterday and was transferred to Res Infantry
@101andrewj Deff not, the infantry is way over crowded, they were trying to get us to OT to pretty much anything and it was automatic transfer once the paperwork went through. 1 RCR is 1000 people over the limit.
@leafsfan9917 Reservists are Soldiers, Sailors, and Air Crew. Their are pieces of shit in every element and organisation in the CF. You just have to wade through more in the Reserve World.
Although I do not support censorship, I do stand against stupidity and ignorance, which these comments, and YouTube in general, is full of. I will be going through and deleting anything and everything I deem appropriate. Too bad, so sad. If this upsets you than it is more than likely you are one of the many ignorant and/or illiterate IDIOTS, in which case I have no pity.
@D1rtyDog Finally someone gets rid of the damn JJack comments, they only produce hate. Nice work, first time I've seen an author mark them as spam. (If that was you)
Also, if you want to defend Canada, be smart about it guys, honestly, don't cuss out the nation, it's only the select few who ruin it for the lot. Not every American is an asshole, so yeah. Every country has it's assholes. Even us, Canada.
I've had enough of the IDIOTS, and I emphasize IDIOTS, talking trash here. Both Americans AND Canadians. I'm quite sure a huge percentage of them have NO military experience and are far from experts on anything. You have no clue what you are talking about and I won't tolerate any more words here that disrespect and dishonour the huge sacrifice out troops have made and continue to make. I also will longer accept ignorant bashing of our US brothers in arms in your attempts to defend Canada.
Well, few experts in the world would consider what Canada has to be a real military. Canada's "military" is actually very low rated, coming in at 23rd in relation to the world powers (Source: Global Firepower). Canada is so weak that the following countries could invade and easily take the country over (if Canada didn't leech off the US and Britain for protection): Mexico Greece Norway Pakistan North Korea South Korea Israel Turkey Sweden Egypt

The Olympic Committee will investigate the actions of Canadian women's hockey players who celebrated their gold medal victory by swigging beer and smoking cigars on the ice in Vancouver. A number of players, including 18-year-old Marie-Philip Poulin, were drinking alcohol on the ice following the team's 2-0 defeat of the United States. (The legal drinking age in British Columbia is 19.) Players lingered for more than 70 minutes after the awards ceremony reveling in the arena.
Canadians are pathetic. You arrogant, nasty people yelled and screamed at an innocent Danish curling Olympian, making her miss crucial shots. The young lady was left in tears. Have you people no shame? Have you no respect for the Olympic spirit? The world has seen your true face. Canada will never host another Olympics. Shame on you...
Some people still think women don't belong in the Canadian infantry and I think they should look at the individual not the gender. I remember one female soldier I trained with who got shot three times in a bar brawl, recovered and completed her training (with honors!) with a bullet still lodged in her body.
Lol that was a complete lie considering the bullet has to be taken out before she can be realesed from a hospital and she cannot do training in that condition. Besides women are not allowed in direct combat roles..
I'm not lying about what happened to this soldier. She trained with me in the Canadian Grenadier Guards and was shot in a bar in Montreal the year we completed our training. She was hospitalized and recovered before returning to our regiment. There were parts of a bullet still in her body because it would cause too much tissue damage to completely remove it. I have no reason to lie about this terrible incident and I will always admire her for dealing with this so courageously.
@AfterImage9 Spineless skirt wearing Canadian faggots? Really? Im guessing you are American, remember that when the American "empire" fails in the near future, and you will wish you would have kept your fat mouth shut. China can bankrupt your shithole of a country in a second.
Hear the new statistic? 4/5 americans are overweight? Sad.
@AlongtheWatchtower6 Funny you say that, because, Chinese business is only 4% of USA economic output and China doesn't even come close to owning most of the USA debt. You're just a typical dumbfuckcanuck with an enormous inferiority complex with the Americans.
Hear the ongoing statistic? 90% of Canada's yearly economic output depends directly on US-related business. Fully 1/3rd of Canada's workforce is employed by American companies or their subsidiaries. Sad.
@AfterImage9 American seals were taken hostage and the American got Canada's JTF2 to rescue them cause they were the only unit fit to do the job. JTF2 makes every other special forces unit look like boy scouts
ahh yeah they said the same thing to me man i called a few weeks ago to get info on infantry, they really didnt tell me anything other then its full and i have to wait till april to see if theres any openings. also when i was on the live chat they said the 350 limit thing wasnt true. they go by how many they need that year. id like to know whats Realllyyy going on!

Do you guys use AR-15s or C7s?
TheDarkNobleOne 1 year ago
@TheDarkNobleOne C7, C8
bighairyfrog 1 year ago
@TheDarkNobleOne - A C7 is, essentially, an AR-15.
D1rtyDog 1 year ago
@D1rtyDog the C7 is made by colt who makes the us m16 ect.. its the same rifle pretty much, based around the same design, canada just made some tweaks when dymex or what ever the company that made them before was, us troops like using are guns and love are ammo lol, but yeah the c7 is full auto as im pretty sure the ar-15 is only semi? i know you can by them in canada and own them but the C7 is strictly prohibited to the CF, either way its kill gun, i love mine lol
plexeus 1 year ago
@plexeus Uh, yeah.... ummm, thanks for the info?? I'm well aware what a C7 is and your post reads like it was written by a 5 y/o and is full of factucal errors. And "you" don't have a C7... you were issued one (I'm guessing by your reserve unit?) .... scary as that seems judging by your written communication skills.

@D1rtyDog fighting in wars is a soldiers job not some weekend warrior weekday baker, that being said I am joined the reserve because I am not old enough to join the regs
leafsfan9917 1 year ago
@leafsfan9917 Are you lecturing me on a soldier's job? Just curious....
D1rtyDog 1 year ago
@D1rtyDog no I am just saying that fighting in wars is a soldiers job, I was more or less agreeing with you I think, I dont mean any disrespect if you are a marine, My point is you cant fight a war with resirvists (ie what canada is doing) I understand the need to have them in case the numbers go down or god forbid there are a lot of casualties, it just seems like every other canadian in afghanistan is a militia member
leafsfan9917 1 year ago
@leafsfan9917 I'm not a marine, I'm in the CF. Canada is "not fighting a war with reservists" as you put it. They are augmentees to the regular force. I don't think you are really qualified or informed enough to have a reasonable opinion on these matters.
D1rtyDog 1 year ago
@D1rtyDog well you definatley cant deny that the CF needs more people, the military has to gain back a lot of respect with the public, and where I live there are tons of reservists here going over seas
leafsfan9917 1 year ago
@leafsfan9917 Gain respect back from the public? In what sense?? Public suport of the CF is higher now than it's been in years. Yes, the military is small, underfunded and there has been manpower shortages with the strain of Afghanistan, but the military has been highly effective under those circumstances. Anecdotal evidence means nohing. Yes, lots of reserves are going overseas... but there is a lot more regular force personel.
D1rtyDog 1 year ago
@D1rtyDog ok mabye respect is the wrong word, yeah sure the public shows support but most of them choose not to serve, look we are both on the same side if we agree that we would like to see the CF become better funded, and have more people enlisting, in the perfect world no reserves would be going over
leafsfan9917 1 year ago
@leafsfan9917 Honestly, you really don't know what you are talking about. The infantry has been closed to new recruits for some time now because it has been overmanned. Too many people were enlisting. Reserves are mandated to make up a certain percentage of overseas personnel not necessarily as a necessity but because they need to be given the operational experience as well. You reall
D1rtyDog 1 year ago
@D1rtyDog thats the problem though, there should be more spaces avalible, even when its full its small
leafsfan9917 1 year ago
@leafsfan9917 Alright, you haven't made a valid point other than "the military needs to be bigger" which is a huge can of worms and doesn't need to be debated here. Enough is enough, this isn't a discussion board.
D1rtyDog 1 year ago
@D1rtyDog well with the amount of people that want to serve it should be like ww2 have the people serve for afghanistan if they don't want to stay let them leave cause those who make it but there is no space avalible it's like a slap in the face
Freepepsi42 1 year ago
@Freepepsi42 Sorry bud, but it is far more complicated than that.
D1rtyDog 1 year ago
@D1rtyDog thats not what i heard.... i have been hearing that the candian forces are having serious recruitment problems.... omost as bad as america
101andrewj 1 year ago
@101andrewj I'm not interested in what you "heard".... just the facts. Some parts of the military are having trouble attracting personel (ie. the Navy) but overall recruiting is not an issue for the CF... in fact, they are scaling it back.
D1rtyDog 1 year ago 4
@D1rtyDog i also heard that the canadian navy sees alot of action working over off the cost of east africa and south west asia.... i rather fight pirates with 100 ton frigates then get blown apart by ieds in some shitty sandpit

@101andrewj Not everyone is cut out for the infantry. I'm sure the Navy woudld be happy to have you.

D1rtyDog 1 year ago
@D1rtyDog haha, dude im going into the army chill,
i don't even know where i was going with that last comment im joining the army for that purpose of maybe not getting all that much action in the navy, so yeah you're right man.

@D1rtyDog two buddies of mine are Boarding Party on their Respective HMCS'. But from what they were saying if you can't handle the Sea it can kick your ass. At least we don't have to sleep on a moving platform that goes up and down and left and right.
I'll stick with the Green side of things much funner anyway.

@101andrewj im surpized they got all this footage without getting cuaght. as most of this is secret.
concretedoor100 1 year ago
they made a shot about canadas combat training, they actually fit lazers to every soldier and every weapon and every vehicle weapon, and these lazers react exactly how a bullet would, and then they fight eachother with blank ammunition and lazers and they can simulate a real battle, with enemy soldiers and civilians... if a person is hit his vest will beep and say wer he is hit... and they are to mock that injury

@concretedoor100 shot= show*
101andrewj 1 year ago
@101andrewj ive been trying to get into the canadian miltary as a reserve unit for a few months now, their just not hiring. there are still plenty of people dropping out and ending contracts. so what their doing is effectively dropping the overall size of the reserves. only the navy is hiring in full swing
00battletactics00 1 year ago
@00battletactics00 well... it wasnt to long ago that i heard canada wanted to leave the afghan mission because they wer having trouble recruiting infantry soldiers and armored soldiers and machanics
101andrewj 1 year ago
@101andrewj Then why the fuck is there a hold on all infantry hiring until next year. Shut your mouth if you don't know what you are speaking about.
Jtspencer234 1 year ago
@101andrewj ya from what i hear the spending cuts to most reserve units, mainly in ontario has forced them to downsize. im sure they could find and transfer funds from some other part of the military budget to fund recruiting for deployment purposes. if their that desperate for infantry soldiers than why dont they start hiring, it doesnt make sense. the damn economic breakdown is still killing us, it really sucks
00battletactics00 1 year ago
@00battletactics00 yeah not 2 long ago, like a year or 2 back... the canadian forces finally got 5 billion from the government to upgrade there current equipment.... this does not count the money they always get for matience and logistics... but how can the canadian government expect the canadian forces to fight well when they give them 5 billion every 10 years to buy new stuff, yet in america they spend 5 billion per navy ship 20x a year

They sit there making fun/degrading them, but they don't really know why they're doing it.
So I guess that would make them fools.

D1rtyDog 1 year ago
@D1rtyDog Finally someone gets rid of the damn JJack comments, they only produce hate. Nice work, first time I've seen an author mark them as spam. (If that was you)
Also, if you want to defend Canada, be smart about it guys, honestly, don't cuss out the nation, it's only the select few who ruin it for the lot. Not every American is an asshole, so yeah. Every country has it's assholes. Even us, Canada.
BlackBurgerShot2 1 year ago
I've had enough of the IDIOTS, and I emphasize IDIOTS, talking trash here. Both Americans AND Canadians. I'm quite sure a huge percentage of them have NO military experience and are far from experts on anything. You have no clue what you are talking about and I won't tolerate any more words here that disrespect and dishonour the huge sacrifice out troops have made and continue to make. I also will longer accept ignorant bashing of our US brothers in arms in your attempts to defend Canada.

I remember one female soldier I trained with who got shot three times in a bar brawl, recovered and completed her training (with honors!) with a bullet still lodged in her body.
velvetQueen699999 2 years ago
Lol that was a complete lie considering the bullet has to be taken out before she can be realesed from a hospital and she cannot do training in that condition. Besides women are not allowed in direct combat roles..
Joey9395 2 years ago
@Joey9395
I have no reason to lie about this terrible incident and I will always admire her for dealing with this so courageously.
velvetQueen699999 2 years ago
@Joey9395
In Canada women are allowed in direct combat roles and we've seen a few return home in body bags.

Sad.
AlongtheWatchtower6 1 year ago
@AlongtheWatchtower6 Funny you say that, because, Chinese business is only 4% of USA economic output and China doesn't even come close to owning most of the USA debt. You're just a typical dumbfuckcanuck with an enormous inferiority complex with the Americans.
Hear the ongoing statistic? 90% of Canada's yearly economic output depends directly on US-related business. Fully 1/3rd of Canada's workforce is employed by American companies or their subsidiaries. Sad.
MrJonez68 7 months ago
@AfterImage9 American seals were taken hostage and the American got Canada's JTF2 to rescue them cause they were the only unit fit to do the job. JTF2 makes every other special forces unit look like boy scouts
