That cylinder is designed to operate under any out door condition, I have seen them poor sand in the cylinder at the factory and they still operate, very loose tolarances.

You will not open the smaller keyway as easy or if at all.

Would it be possible to put a contact microphone on the locks as you pick them? You get them from music stores or else use a "mechanic's stethoscope". That would let us hear the clicks.

Otoscopes are selling for as little as $15 on Ebay, so I'd suggest you try that for viewing discs & pins.

I allready own an electronic listening device for locks (Safe ear) I find that I realy only need it for realy hard locks so I rarely use it
