  • My name is Luka. I don't live on the second floor. I don't live anywhere because the Israeli defence Force demolished my house. Don't play for Apartheid Israel. End the occupation.. Boycott Israel

  • @elgremioestaenhuelga

Oh, boo hoo really. I live in Sderot and now I have no home because terrorists bombarded it from your house!

Tell you leaders to stop using you as live shields and stop blaming us for your faults!! Israel is very very pacient and kind with you terrorists. But some day we WILL have enough!

  • @MyDanaw BTW, I was at her concert, it was GREAT!!!!!

    Love her :)

  • @MyDanaw My leaders? hahaha, dude, im from Argentina. I think Palestine cause should be everyone cause..but not for you the zionists, the assassins, the baby killers...Free Palestine! Stop the genocide in Gaza. End the Occupation.

    IDF: International terrosists

  • @elgremioestaenhuelga

Ahh.. Gaza IS free dude... I think you are mistaking the zionists for the Palestinians. Or you're just a liar.

We SAVE babies, and if you'll learn history you're in for such a surprise as for what is REALLY going on here.. but ignorance is bliss. Just stay in your blind hate for the jewish people. We have a country and up yours to every one who hates us :D

I'm not surprised by you. Isn't Argentina a refuge to all nazies who managed to escape??

  • @MyDanaw ok dude, you have a serious problem, nobody gives a f...about you or your country, we care about Palestinian people, we don't hate you, actually i have a lot of jew friends....but the only difference is that they don't support the occupation.

You should read more, not just the bible..

  • @elgremioestaenhuelga

Hey, first of all good to know you're not just another jewish hater, even though "nobody gives a f..." isn't accurate.

Our enemies do. And if you read history you'll find out all through it we were killed and chassed by the arabs here even before it was Israel. I suggest you go find out who gave this place the name "palestine" in the first pleace and what are the origins of the arabs called "palestinians".

  • @MyDanaw You know nothing about me so the serious problems are not mine, dude. I'm not religious at all. Just not stupid and know my history.

Every time THEY try to eliminate US, since 48 and before.

We don't have any territories that don't belong to us. Sorry, someone really messed up with your mind about what is going on here. but I'm not surprised as for they have a well oiled lying machine.

    And btw, I'm a dudett :)

  • @MyDanaw

Did you know that even though we disconnected from Gaza we still support them with money, electricity' water etc'? and they don't pay us any taxes, believe me. We also take care of sick children in our hospitals. We're such terrible terrorists, really...

  • @MyDanaw and last but not least..

and the terrorists we capture can sit in our prisons and get a degree on Israel's expanse, they have privileges like visitations from their families and the red cross and so on, while they wouldn't let anyone visit Gilad Shalit?

You seriously need a reality check out. I'm so tired of all the lies about Israel and our army, really, it's time for you and yours alike to know the truth.

  • @MyDanaw Is there really any point in posting all this stuff under a YouTube vid? If you're going to take the time and trouble to argue with ignorant people then you might as well do it at a political site, such as that of The Guardian newspaper, here in the UK, where most readers will at least be interested to read what you have to say.

  • @CaptainThrice, yes.. because he wrote lies and I'm putting the truth just in case someone takes this lunatic lies as the truth.

But I just moght go to this paper as well.. good idea :)

  • Yes, she is so good! Love her song-writing and voice. Truly a great artist!

  • very talented woman

  • Beautifully poetic song by a great artist.

  • pure magic!

  • She has such an eerily beautiful voice.

  • scattering like light

  • One of her best songs. It feels like me!!

  • I feel in love with her when I was 7.

    I am 30 now.

    Her music is just...just...

a wonderful message in my dreams...

  • @taoworm2323

    que hermoso eso...

yo tambien cuando estoy mal escucho su musica y me enamoro

  • i like this woman...ever since i heard toms diner i fell in love with her music.

  • @mkrulz77 I've been in love with her music from her beginnings, the tragic thing is that I am also in love with her since I was about twelve years old and I'm 38 right now...When somebody asks me what kind of celebrity I like my thoughts always go towards Suzanne. She's sweet, blessed with good music, with a voice that can make you reach the stars, and in my opinion, so beautyful.

    I love this WOMAN.

  • 5 months ago I commented this was me that day. It is me again today..... (How I feel)

  • When I first listened to Suzanne's music, I imediately realized that this woman is not only a musician, she's a poet, too. I "TRY" to write, too. And many times she inspires me to do something artful... to write a poem or a song. And this song in particular. I remember not trying to interpret this song but just feeling it. Difficult to describe. Lonely and in peace with myself? Free? You can put it how you want but her song is just the blade, the warm blood that follows is your own...

  • don't fear the reaper

  • She's just too good. She makes me too sad though, because the things she sings about I know are there but I never see them. thats why I cannot listen to her for long

  • Suzanne constantly amazes me with her introspection and imagery. I've loved her since Tom's Diner, and am very, very grateful that she is still recording. And no, they do NOT make music like this anymore. I'm afraid that introspection and imagery with this generation is an in depth text message with accompanying photo. Pity.

  • Quote of the year!

  • when i first heard this song i was at barnes and noble and this beautiful girl walked in while this song was playing and i fell in love....

  • @racetoop YEAH? What happened next...?

  • Great Stuff... shame that kids have only Lady GaGa these days!!

  • So right!

  • Everyone does . All the time in their hearts .

  • Does anyone make music like this any more?

  • I just recently got the album (good one btw), and this lovely song is the one I like best. The imagery is just wonderful. Nice to see a live version on here.

  • This is supposed to be about a unborn child.....

  • this is how my boyfriend treats me...

  • Really like Suzanne Vega, wish there were more guitar lessons and tabs for her songs.

  • just perfect... perfectly how it feels...

    scattering like light...

  • Suzanne Vega took an apple pie that was cooling on my windowsill. My talking lobster, Hank, saw the whole darn thing. Dont be fooled by the Vega Meister- shes a cold hearted pie thief. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

  • well done +1 for humour

  • I'd be effing honored if Suzanne Vega stole my apple pie.

I'd probably make her another one, too.

  • Today this is me......

  • Such a lovely song. So nice to see nothing negative written.

  • Great song

  • I love this song too! I think it must be about planet earth......

  • i think she's comparing herself to a fragile glass marble...but it could apply to our fragile planet just as well...she definitely gets ur imagination going with her soothing voice and awesome poetry.

  • I love this song!!! Full of emotions..

  • My 2nd favorite song by Suzanne Vega. A great songwriting talent.

  • "I love this song so muchs!!!!! ^___^ [x]

  • Wonderful!

  • She is truly mystical, but a few years ahead, or behind, her time. I have her first 3 albums and they are still a good listen. Thanks for sharing.

  • I had been familiar with "Luka" in 1987and brushed it off as just one more over-played top 40 song. That same year, a college radio station played this song and I sat up and took notice, not knowing who the artist was until the end of the song. The station played several other "deep cuts" off the first album and I have been a loyal fan ever since, but Small Blue Thing was THE song pulled me in. Awesome! (bty - I grew to love "Luka" as well.)

  • Indeed, voice as smooth as velvet...

What record store did you work at..?

  • I first heard her name while working in a record store in Louisiana...I really didn't think much of the album...her name was not familiar...but upon hearing it, I realized I had found a rare jewell...an artist I would always follow.

  • gorgeousness.

  • This great tune is about the aggressive side of being a victim. She's singing about how you can get revenge simply by refusing to return love.

Always, she speaks of herself as an object that holds its subject in disdain and finally escapes--"cold against your skin, lost against your fingers, falling down the stairs." And ultimately the subject (the listener) loses this "smooth, curious, unblinking" thing to the sky. Whatever your reading, this is a fan-fucking-tastic tune.

  • i love this song so much

    but whats it about ?

    xx

  • I think most singer-songwriters get it absolutely wrong when they try to write "poetry" and set it to a melody. What makes a good song lyric does not necessarily make for good poetry, and vice versa.

But "Small Blue Thing" is one of several superb Vega songs that works as both powerful poetry on the page and in the tune. It is simple, selective, and haunting in its imagery. This one's a rare beauty.

  • Simply beautiful in every sense!

  • Finally some good poetry. I HATE bad poetry, but this is really really incredible poetry. And singing is good. So is the guitar playing, that's pretty nice.

  • That´s too much to me!!!

  • Just amazing and inspiring!

  • that's what i love about tom petty. he's got such a wide vocal range.

  • This song is amazing. The feelings hidden within the words are indescribable.

  • Fantastic, amazing, no words to describe the atmosphere created by this absolutely incredible music piece...I remember waking up at 6 a.m to record this performance in a spanish TV channel

  • I am still raining down in pieces!

  • this song like effects some great feelings i never had so i never stop listening to it!suzanne we love you and ur voice its so clear and pure continue your talent!!!

  • Been trying to find this live version (I'm sure it was from one of her UK gigs - Albert Hall?) for ages. Remember taping it from TV around '86 and just loved then and still do. Even better than the album version

  • markeemark2004: same here. I had it on Betamax for ages.. but I can't watch it anymore. I'd love to see a DVD version of that show.

  • lol snap! I had it on Betamax too (showing my age!) and only chucked the player away a few years ago after finding it in the loft. Should have got someone to transfer to disc. I'd definitely buy the DVD if it was available

  • I'm so glad I've found her music on one of my mum's CDs!

I can't get this song out of my heart for years... ♥

  • Still gives me chills.

  • Her words are so emotionally charged.

  • Been playing her CD non-stop in the car - her voice is so beautiful, pure, clear - such insight into the human condition - love her.

  • This is one of the most powerful songs I've heard all during my 20 years of life..

  • I first heard it around 20 years ago - and its still one of my favourite songs - the melody is haunting.

  • My fav suzanne vega song. It haunts me.

  • Følger meg gjennom livet. Passer altfor ofte.

  • Für Adrienne vielen Dank

    Geoff

  • She has such a touch to the dark side. I've loved this performer half my life

  • then what happened? you got married to someone else? :P

  • Essa música é do caralho!!!

    It's a fucking great song!!!

  • play this @ my funeral

  • håber stadig...

  • ... Still think this is her best song so far (not that I have heard them all, but I dare to say so anyway :) ). It's shame they don't play this on radio as often as they play Luka.

    - DD

  • Awesome song...

  • It's a great song!

    I love it
