If this charges NiMH rechargeable batteries, then would it be true to say it can charge any size rechargeable battery e.g. 1200mAh or 2500mAh or 3000mAh?
I bought one of these and have not been able to charge my iPhone using it. It appears to charge the AA batteries, but even when the batteries are full it won't charge the iPhone.
I have 2 of these and have integrated them into my life. I bought about 20 rechargables and use the batteries to power a few lamps in my place. That greatly reduces the electric bill. I bought these off Amazon a couple months ago but since the earthquake in Japan hit... the 3rd party company I bought them from through Amazon donated their whole inventory for earthquake relief. They sell for about $100 now. There are bigger ones that tie up to batteries. That is what I want to get at someday.....
Once the AA are charged can you use the USB out of the sun and power products using the AA power or are you only charging the AAs to use them as AA batteries
@cyrusdavirus007 You can use it both ways. I carry an extra pair of batteries so the power film is always charging something. This is a great unit. I am looking at the Goal Zero guide 10 for a review. I have been hearing great things about them.
@CHAYOROSE No, this unit is designed to charge at 3.6 volts. For your car you need to find a 12V solar charger. or battery maintainer. Powerfilm also makes a line of larger 12V folding or rollable panels that are 12V compatible.

Anyone else encountered this?

@Arngeir There was an earlier version that would do that, contact Powerfilm and they can get you an updated model.

@TabalugaDragon I think I paid $80.00 at REI. You may want to try amazon to see if they have a better price.
