  • Sugar creates fat, fat makes you obese and obesity increases chances of diabetes. True, but the chances of you getting diabetes are very, very, very slim unless your family has a history of this disease. It's hereditary; caused mainly by genetics. So, sugar isn't that big a deal unless you're someone who is fat and/or never exercises. Also, some people can still have diabetes regardless of sugar intake and fitness status due to their genetics.

  • God you can talk nutrition to me all day Natalie, that's so freaking hot.

  • Natalie, you're smoking hot.

  • the beginning scurred the crap outta me.

  • WOW! I knew processed food was not good but not to the extent that you're displaying re: sugar content. Quite shocking actually. Thanks Natalie.

  • What a nice girl over there ))

  • What's the best way to wean yourself off of soda?

  • @Sternschnuppen85

Coca Cola used to be my favorite drink. It took me 2 years to break the addiction. What worked for me was giving myself a personal ban on PURCHASING soda, but would drink it if it was at someone's home or a party. Then I would limit the amount of days in between the times I would drink soda. After 2 years of this, my cravings finally broke, and now I just choose not to drink it if its an option at a party. Honestly, I usually drink water now.

  • @Sternschnuppen85 For me I gradually replaced soda with juice and then I replaced Juice with water. Now I drink water and green tea ONLY! I have been soda free for 3 YEARS now!

  • @GodsGenuineGift that's awesome! do you have any tips? (my mom is dealing with this now)

  • what about honey in replace of sugar for taste?

  • very enlightening with all the good visual examples. This is really helpful for me, and many others I'm sure, because it's explained so simply and it's so clear that we unconsciously put all this white poison in us.

  • coca cola is also full of salt, the sugar which masks. The salt plus other things dehydrate the body and the sugar masks all of this, and your body dries out. Eat more fruit. And then eat more fruit. And then eat more fruit. And then eat some vegetables- green leafy preferrably. coffee drinkers maybe just need to sleep more, enhance their nerve tone rather than stimulate tired bodies.

  • We need to reach Sugar Factories and make sure what they are putting in sugar is healthy.

  • what would be a good yogurt to eat? My children are yogurt addicts!

  • @sillygirl722 non-fat plain yogurt or Greek yogurt with fresh fruit and a little stevia, honey, or agave nectar mixed in. It's an acquired taste, but you can play with the ratios of ingredients to help curb the change in flavor. Then change the recipe over time to include less honey, etc. I hope this helps

  • 'Naturally thin' people's body use food in a way that regulates their weight and they don't get fat. Same food. Same exercise. But you stay thin or get thin if you started off with excesss weight.

For more information watch The Secrets Of Weight Loss on my channel.

  • Ironically the 'google ad' that displayed when I watched this was for Frosty Mini Wheats.. Great video, I had no idea Ketchup was almost entirely sugar. Thanks.

  • Thank you for the visuals...very effective. But I am disappointed you only mention fructose or HFCS quickly at the end and how it causes other extra negatives.

  • 1/2.5 = 2/5ths by the way... and a big gulp is about 2 of those bottles :)

but thanks a lot for the demonstration! Helps to picture it!

  • HI Natalie, I really love your videos......says the truth straight up and amazes me....thank you for sharing it on youtube.

  • Shocker!!!

  • I am eating an orange now. It's very very tasty.

  • @Glyvxx You can eat as much fruit as you want, just drink plenty of water before, 1 liter upon rising.. this is of course if you want to live an active life. :)

  • I haven't drank soda or sugary juice in over a year, but when Natalie mentioned the "Big Gulp" I used to get all the time at 7-11 I suddenly had an urge to get one. I feel so ashamed.

  • I ment to say * why we consume things that harm us*

  • The video was great Natalie but the comments on here are scary and explain why we consume things and don't care...ignorance and comfort in being ignorant

  • STOP IT!!!! STOP MAKING VIDEOS!!!! ThEY SUCK!!!!

  • I'd quit all the sugar in the world just to have Natalie ♥____♥

  • I... usually drink the whole bottle of coke... >.>

  • Thank you very, very much for this video. Great Info. Bless you.

  • I could care less about knowing things.. I clicked this because I think she is a hot! lol

  • also HF corn syrup does not stimulate insulin, so you get no feedback to your brain, your brain thinks its still Hungary which is why you will still be able to eat after a coke

  • i'm going to the kitchen to get my chips ahoy

  • Great video, very new to diabetes

  • Great videos! I feel a need to comment on a minor point: the definition of the term "nutrient" includes sugar and other calorie sources. You can be technically correct by discerning between macro-nutrients needed in bulk (calorie sources like sugar, fat and protein) and micro-nutrients needed in very small quantities (vitamins and essential minerals as well as essential amino acids). Keep up the good work!

  • don't forget excess sugar causes free radical damage to cells that cause them to fail including pancreas. it sticks to the cells proteins etc and cause them to be oxidized. sugar is rocket fuel. all that sugar no wonder people are wired up and can't sleep at night. imagine how high their adrenalin and cortisol levels go from the roller coaster insulin glucose loading. I need to watch my sugar intake better than I have been.

  • @TheRosa63 You guys are forgetting Fructose, which are the bastard here. This is the kind of sugar that is actually a toxin!

  • @Jchissuerts Fructose in fruits is not toxin :) It is acctually very healthy, the body runs on sugars, just eliminate the refined sugars and you have eliminated a big problem. Eliminate also as much fat as possible from your diet, oils and such as that. I`m a vegan and have thus eliminated greatly the fats that are in most meat and dairy products, the latter also contains plenty of sugar and this is most definetly toxin. =) Check out John McDougall if you want to learn more. =)

  • @TheRosa63 If your fat intake is low then you can handle sugars better, I do not speak about refined sugars in sodas and such, but a high carb (sugar) low fat, low protein from natural wholefoods such as fruits, are an amazing way to live.. drink plenty of water, 1 liter upon rising, pee clear 10 times a day.. as much fruit as you desire (30 bananas a day) and or go on the John McDougall diet that is starch based, and eliminate all refined sugars such as sodas and dairy. =)

  • you're so cute.

  • oh... my... you are the most nutritious chick i ever seen...

  • i hate chili's so much

  • 80.25 teaspoons = 1.671 cups

  • tits or gtfo.

  • All if have to say is WOW

  • Corn syrup makers & the companys that use them , are just as bad or worse than the tobacco industry , because there is no age limit to ingest . Anyone can pull from the shelves & into they're blood stream. The sooners were given free land & free industry ( demand, we the people ). I know its legal hard work & peoples lively hood is at stake . But so is dealing illegal drugs . People are losing their lives with both.

  • Wow, thank you so much for putting this video up. I love sugar so much but after watching this video, I am going to cut out my sugar intake. You should be very proud: you are changing peoples lives :0)

  • Very good effort you are making, Natalie!

  • thats cazy , almost discusting..

  • Stevia, Truvia or Sun Crystals is better.

  • I'm so glad I don't like soda :)

  • I wanna bust a hellafied nut on this chick's huuuuuuuggge forhead hahaha. ;-)

  • @JenkemBlackJesus me too haha, but she doesn't have a huge forhead i don't think

  • An H-E-B bag of sugar! I work there. You must live in TX, since there is no other H-E-B's anywhere else.

  • Your video is not convincing at all ; how you talk about sugar, while you are so sweet‎ ;)

  • Comment removed

  • well said thanks for the info

  • Thankx GOD I drink PEPSI not Coca Cola ..

  • @capricorn974 same thing

  • She forgot to add "Too much sugar causes possible things like heart disease, and bowel cancer. Sugar can be found where you least expect it, EG.. Fruit and cereal"

  • she reminds me of pam from the office early on in the series

  • A big thank you!!!!!

  • Who eats at mcDonalds and afterwards eats a friggin bomb for desert at home? And 4 full bottles of coke???? WTF!.

My conclusion: This can only be done by an American!

  • ha! she holding the suger and it says coke!

  • @greenboy60ftw yeah..the amount of sugar thats in the coke stupid.

  • @AshCakesxD thank you for bieng a retard and not understanding my statement, i said that because it looks like coke which is a drug.

  • Comment removed

  • when you see it in front of you its pretty shocking. but is it our fault that manufacturers put high fructose corn syrup in everything?

  • @rhyno81 no its not our fault for them manufacturing crap and calling it food. but it IS our fault if we decide by our own free will to put all that crap into us :P

eat good foods people. love your body !

  • my god she's so...HEALTHY

  • Yummy sugar! Now if you're truly concerned, consult a nutritionist and talk about moderation. Extremes in consumption (from zero to over-consumption) can be bad, so be intelligent. "Nutrition by Natalie" is a nice expose on the amount someone -could- consume on a daily basis.

  • 88 lbs

  • dont drink ANY sweet drinks, or eat any processed food high in sugar like icecream. i lost over 30 pounds, honest. well of course you need to stop eating fast food too and never overeat.

  • @asdfkie and eat slowly, because you dont give the sensor near the top of your stomach to let yourself know that your full, because if one eats too fast, theyre eating wayy more than they need to.

definitely, i've been avoiding any processed foods whenever i get the chance

  • @SheepRCool17 And chew your food, if you eat slowly and swallow every mouthful I'd rather you eat at normal speed and chew. Never skip meals, it makes you hungry and you overeat the next meal. Make sure you're full after every breakfast.

  • I am drinking soda as I watch this... why did I click on it. lol!

  • thank you, it was simple & informative.

  • I thought basic sugar(glucose) was the basic thing the body needed to make energy(ATP)? What does the body need?

  • Thank you kindly Natalie!

  • Thank you Natalie!

  • Our bodies do not need whole grains....or grains in any manifestation!

  • U said that sugar does nothing but calories... It depends... it is smart to eat some sugar(drink juice, or eat small chocolate like half to one hour before u go training or playing somekind of sport, if u want to have enough energy throughout the training...

I play badminton and i experienced that without eating at least some chocolate before i play i can't keep up till third set... It is the ATP energy u get rly fast from sugar, unlike transforming fat into energy which takes lots of time...

  • @Zigg33

She's not talking to Athletes ;)

It's true that some insulin spike is good post-workout in body building for example BUT most people do little to no exercise ;)

  • @Zigg33

not once you are used to a low carb, low sugar, high healthy fats diet. My body runs extremely well and efficiently on 20g carbs per day(mainly in the form of fresh non-startchy vegetables). I always have consistently high energy levels without peaks and troughs and my body must be burning fat not glucose for energy.

  • corn syrup is not used in sodas in most countries outside USA. if you get a coca cola from a foreign country, it would not have corn syrup, but normal sugar.

  • Even in the book of lies, sometimes you find truth...

  • Natalie... if you were in my life, i would be a full-fledged health nut again.

  • i want to throw up after watching this :dp

  • 3 cups - 1 girl!

  • You mam, are a whore

  • mmmm how much sugar would i consume if i had a taste of her boo-tay?

  • @DemonicSymphonic

dunno bro but im right there with you

  • informative.... tnx

  • Hi Natalie, you should produce more and newer vids you are so eloquent and you make your topic interesting.

  • lol i watched this vid just cause she was cute lol

  • thanx a lotttt

  • why all good tasty foods are all bad for health?? : (

  • natalie, i hear the latest figure on the amount of sugar we consume individually per year is averaging at around 140 lbs. nearly double what you said in this vid.

  • when u say orange juice...do u mean FRESH orange juice??

  • Hopefully you ll come and visit me

    in Paris ;-)

  • That is y I dont drink soda, yikes!

  • Sugar is white death.

  • lol 5:33

  • Ask Natalie if I give up sugar will she be my substitute!

  • Holly snaps! Holly crap, I'm never eating mcdonalds again! and coffee, holly shit! Wow, damn. Well, I oughta stop drinking pop and consuming more water and eating more vegetables and stop eating high fructose foods, coffee, and pop.

  • She must've bought a looot of sugar to make this video... Someone must've eaten it after too, which goes against the very point of the video... to get people to eat less sugar.

  • I love you, Natalie!

  • I've always wanted to see someone do this--and it's horrifying.

  • Fruit contains fructose and yes they are good for you in moderation, but if you eat fruit all day it can make you fat. You cant just add fiber to your diet and say your canceling the sugar out. Thats not how it works. Fiber is included in the carb and sugar count because thats what it is but its indigestable. You need to get your nutrients from veggies because most of the sugar and carb count is actually fiber which is indigestable carbohydrates.

  • This is the best educational video I have seen. Showing the amount of sugar in the cups blows me away!!!

  • i love your hair! and i am going to cut sugar out of my diet, ive had much too much

  • she failed to mention the dynamics of sugar and fiber. these are very important.

if you eat enough fiber with your sugar it will be taken only slowly into the body. that's why you don't get diabetis from fruit.

most western diet is deficient in fiber. eat some lentils or beans to get your fiber!

  • @1schwererziehbar1 Yep..fruit is fine because it has essential nutrients and FIBER! Fiber is so important and is never stressed enough.

  • orange juice contains no refined sugar. The sugar in orange juice is healthy. A lot of the sugar from that jar is from the orange juice, and you're wrong to add that up in how much sugar modern Americans consume. In colonial times, Americans consumed much sugar, but not refined sugar. Beer was a common part of the colonial meal in winter because it was the only way that to store barley crops through the season. Cider was also consumed, which is pure (natural) sugar.

  • omg you're so unhealthy

  • awesome! this is great to watch, and you inspire me to follow my own goal of becoming a nutritionist! :)

  • i love you natalie

  • is skipping breakfast especially hard on the liver? if so, why?

  • COME BACK TO US!!!

  • That's an insane amount of sugar considering that one teaspoon is enough to inhibit the immune system for 4hours!!! No wonder us Americans are so unhealthy. One other thing I would like to mention is that a lot of sugar in the blood stream causes acidity and to balance this your body takes calcium from your bones and teeth and over time you can see how this can be a problem. Thanks for getting the word out Natalie. =)

  • what a smokin hottie!

  • @faheeta you only like her because she is a mother figure to you

  • thanks so much for this video!!!!!!!! i feel so groused out! i needed to see this!!!

  • wait so there is bad sugar in orange juice? I thought there was no added sugar, why does it equate to half of one of those cups of cane sugar? O.O

  • cause fruits are made of carbs (sugar).

  • u americans are crazy, only a really really fat person eats like this here, not the average person

but i suppose average in usa IS fat

next u shud make a vid with cups of fat and put those next to the cups of sugar

    :D

  • you come across quite bitchy to me :) im just saying.

  • math fail

  • To amtv1988. I replied to you but I think potatoes and whole wheat rice also contain some sugar cause they have carbs in them but if you want to eat food without any sugar and carbs you can eat eggs and different meat and vegetables and drink regular coffee or tea without any added sugar.

  • Wow! Great info. Thank you.

  • So, if the average person is eating 22 bags of sugar per year, that works out to somewhere between 100-110 teaspoons of sugar per day. Wow.

Thanks for the great info (even though I'm a couple years late). I'll certainly start taking a closer look at my sugar intake.

  • First of all...let's get one thing straight.........If someone could find me any food that is NATURALLY sugar-free in this day and age...I will pay them cold hard cash. It is very easy to eat healthy , but it is so hard to eat sugar-free without harsh chemicals!

  • Don't go "sugar-free." Stay away from added sugar. There is no reason to stop eating fruit unless one is diabetic.

  • right! go "refined-sugar free."

  • what do you mean "naturally?" man-made processed foods aren't going to be sugar-free, but then again they're not going to be "natural" either.

  • Whole wheat rice, potatoes, oatmeal, vegetables, chicken, pork, fish and different kinds of meat. There are probably a lot of more food that don´t have sugar. Berries are low in sugar and fruits have sugar but healthier sugar than the regular.

  • Not to mention all the sugar that is in your salad dressing!

    Great video!

  • where are you Natalie????

  • i cant believe coca cola is legal

  • It should be legal, if you wanna drink it, drink it. If you care about your health, don't drink it. It's all about self-control.

  • @EddyARB , dude sugar makes rednecks stick thier finger in thier butts and smell it,

it also makes them rape thier daughters

    its bad stuff

  • cosmetics are toxic aswell...haha! =P

  • wow ur skin, hair n etc looks good..i wanna eat healthy too,,,no refined sugar yeahhh,,

  • Very useful Information..

    u r Cute....lol

  • A lot of real good information. Thank you.

Really shocking to see what is comsumed on a daily basis.

Next you should look into how carbs and especially sugar feeds cancer, helping it grow. Not a good thing. Probably why the country is seeing so many cancer cases now.

  • certainly too much sugar is bad but people need "drugs" to cope with life distresses and sugar is maybe the least harmful one. What do you propose being realistic? We all need things to comfort, relax, take breaks, feel good, enjoy the taste, etc

  • I want to apologize my body for destroying it...

  • Your so cute.

  • @gorloth what's her cute? You meant "You're so cute" ???

  • @pesahson I like your style ^.^

  • Coke is sugarwater!

  • geez all of that sugar drives the pancrease crazy

  • i guess its better to drink a homemade lemonade with 2 to 4 tablespoons of sugar than drink a coke

  • I am so shocked that I am actually crying. Thank you for this information! There are so many people in my life that eat ten times worst than you just exampled and im going to make them watch this video!

  • this video has changed my life starting now!! I think back on all the sweet cereal i recently stopped eating and how much calories i was consuming...body i love you and i will make u toner than you are right now. thank you Natalie!!!

  • more videos by natalie please where did she go

  • I agree, its the whole reason why i subcribed to psychetruth... i unsubbed once they stopped having her make vids :(

  • that's an excellent question!

  • do you possibly think that sugar may be giving way to high pregnancy rates, just thinking aloud, thanks for the info.

  • Lemon I'm A Try That.Thanks

  • Can you do a video on healthy sugar substitutes like stevia, agave nectar, etc?

  • Whoa..!? No More Gatorades After My Morning Jog..What Can I Drink Though?.Water Is To Simple Tastes Like News Paper..I Throw Some Sode On The Water So I Can Get A Flavor.

  • I know this sounds funny, but organic rose hip tea is a natural energy drink, just add honey to it and let cool. and its so good for you

  • honey is good

  • have some organic green hot tea. If you need a sweeter drink you can use raw agave nectar, raw honey, or raw cane juice.

  • Those are all sugars...

  • Pedialyte. It's an electrolyte drink for kids. It's actually great for adults but was created for people who want to give kids electrolytes without the sugar. Young Thai Coconuts are a great electrolyte balancer, but have natural sugars in them. Also, there is Ultima Replenisher (no suger added/contains stevia). If you eat healthy, you should have all of the electrolytes you need unless you jog for hours. Water IS simple. What kindare you drinkning that it tastes so bad? Squeeze in some lemon.

  • Thank you very much for such information! It helps a lot.

  • The Truth hurts. :)
